Thanks for your video! Is it possible to install 2 3.5 drive and use this as a NAS? Could we install a NVME ssd with an adapter on pcie slot and boot from it?
yes, you can! but when I did it, it took a fair bit of work, but it is possible. the only way I could get my nvme SSD to boot was by cloning the already made system drive, then setting the bios boot mode to legacy, and put the SSD as the boot drive. Also, it does in fact have 2 3.5 hdd slots.
Do you know which are the priority USB ports on the motherboard to which you can plug the keyboard and mouse to have less latency ? PS : I am making a case swap and adding a gtx 1080 to make it run recent game !!
Great presentation. Loved it very much. +1♥️ Probably the perfect case for a home server ...could you please verify if is supports HBAs ? Why don't you try with a NVME ? There is enough space for a PCIe raiser. Another thing, can the 3.5 inch drives be fitted, 2 will suffice.
Really like this video , the critical part to was the removal of the mother board . The fact that the CPU cooler screws fastened to case. If you didn't know this ,you could break the mother board ! not good . Did you run Samsung Magician Software for the new hard drive.
Typical with these SFF PCs to see the cooler fixed to the case rather than a backplate. But indeed, can be surprising if you're used to work with "regular" PCs. Never really used that Magician tool. I know it can be used to check disk health and update disk firmware. Might be a good idea to check it out. Thanks.

I have this same machine. Planning to upgrade the power supply, it is possible though? are the motherboard connection required me to only buy psu from hp? or, can i use the aftermarket powersupply??
Both the size and connectors are non-standard. I know there are 3rd party power supplies out there but not sure if they come with increased power. I think your options are pretty limited here.
still have this beauty. oldie but goodie. i have normal HDD (primary) and i want to put an SSD drive as primary, and leave the HDD as slave. dont know a squat about BIOS. can you please help me how you change those hd from the BIOS???
I bought one today and I will have it tomorrow or the day after. If you still need help, will be able to tell you what's what. Technically, the manual says you should just plug system drive into the darker blue sata port and the secondary drives into lighter sata ports and it should recognize said drive as primary by default.
I have the same system with a CD drive, unfortunately the cd drive is kind of damaged. Do you think they can still get a cd drive attachment for this machine?
The power supply and motherboard are not standard ATX. Besides from the different form factor, the connections to the motherboard are non-standard as well. I did see some heavier, fitting, PSUs online before but they didn't come over very trustable as they were non-genuine.
Looking at getting one of these. Viewing from the top left has a slim optical disk drive space. Is that big enough to fit a 3.5 inch HDD? Not concerned about putting it in a cage or the like. it can sit in the area loosely as the computer will not be moved.
any more information how to make safe upgrade such PC from Win 10 to 11 &? I have tried multiple times but did not succeed. Secure boot requirement forces me to make a clean installation, which I am trying to avoid. Any instruction?
1- is there any way that i can change the cabinet so my graphic card fit inside this .? 2- is there any way to upgrade power supply to 400w or something if so which psu .?
1) the motherboard looks pretty standard ATX so it would fit in another case. I did not test this but looks pretty doable. 2) In the standard case, you need a specific HP PSU as a standard form factor does not physically fit. In another case (your point 1), it should work to use another PSU but you would need a convertor from the standard ATX to the HP-proprietary connector. All in all, if you plan these kind of things, it might be more interesting to sell the whole PC and buy another in the tower version (or a custom PC)
@@jensdbe well about the size of the motherboard, it's a mATX motherboard but I think the I/O shield will become a problem. We don't have a I/O shield for this device .
Sure, there is space for a 3,5" drive and a 2,5" drive. More is probably possible as well but then you would need to look into splitting the SATA power and might run out of SATA connections.
