    Great job, great truck, great company. It’s so Interesting to watch these videos after being with them for a year. They really are humble but the reality is, the fact that they supply us with a truck like this out the gate and have such a great support system in place is really a blessing. I talk to a lot of guys out here and sometimes see new drivers using not so new trucks and they are SHOCKED when I tell them how prime takes care of their drivers. This industry is give and take and though their has been some temptation to have a hardened heart at times, it’s easy to not take out any small issues on these guys. They really have given us a fighting chance to begin this career. Just wanted to give my anonymous gratitude prime. Thank you guys. Obviously don’t waste your time looking for “Clark Kent” as I’m sure he’s still at the daily planet in Kansas but the picture is really me. My hair is just a lot bigger now haha guess I’ll add that side note as well, what a blessing to have a career that I can allow me hair to be in it’s natural state, an Afro.

    • @PRIMEINCTRUCKING
      @PRIMEINCTRUCKING  2 года назад +4

      The remainder of the 2022 model year trucks have LED headlights. It has not been decided if we will continue that for the next model year.
      Cost vs. Benefit just hasn’t been justified to put disc brakes all the way around all tractors. It is an option that we allow drivers to pay for up front and order if they want them. We are currently working on our new truck deal and this is one of our items that we are looking at closely. Thanks for the questions!

    Very nicely spec'd truck. I'm kind of surprised that Prime hasn't moved away from noisy, and often high-maintenance APU's and switched over to Freightliner's EPU system with 1800-watt factory sine-wave inverter combined with an Espar bunk heater. I've had both set-ups and think the EPU and Bunk heater set-up is far nicer and much more reliable. It would also be nice if they spec'd the Freightliner factory TV mount arm instead of an outdated thermos holder. While we're at it, the curb-side emergency exit door would be a great addition as well. And Omnitracs? Seriously? I would think that a company as driver-focused as Prime would have far better technology than that piece of garbage, severely outdated, driver-hated system. Hopefully, for all of the prime drivers, they'll replace that dinosaur soon! Overall, though, I think they're very nicely spec'd trucks and Prime keeps their fleet newer and very well maintained, so big kudos to them for that. Their fleet trucks are far nicer than a lot of other mega carriers, for sure.

    the blindspot sensor makes a sonically piercing noise. it goes off for people on the sidewalk, guardrail 3 lanes over, or your own trailer. it's absolutely worthless

    • @OriginalPhil

      My biggest issue with Freightliner's blindspot sensor is that I can't signal a (right) lane change early without setting it off. This makes getting onto freeways from those left-hand entrance ramps miserable. I still like having it though.

    You can call it a thermos holder... I call it a tripping hazard. So goes the life of a trucker. I do appreciate HAVING the option though. Don't care for the "Noggin Buster" ladder either. HAVING the ladder is nice, but the placement of it is not ideal. The overall design of the truck is good though. The interior layout of the Freightliner is far more convenient then Peterbilt, particularly when it comes to storage. It says a lot when the 72 inch sleeper on the Cascadia has more usable space then the 80 inch sleeper on the 579. I would, however, take the ride of the Pete all day, every day though, especially when running team. That "Freightshaker" suspension just can't compete with smooth ride of Paccar trucks, particularly when you are in the bunk while the truck is moving. Wheelbase, ofc, does make a difference with that too...

    I have driven many Cascadias (2020-2022) and the experience has been unpleasant. They typically start out with somewhat tight steering when cold but after a few miles it gets looser and I was constantly adjusting. I had some with ultra sensitive brakes and accelerator and some just acceptable. I am currently driving a 2016 international and it drives like a dream compared to the Cascadias. I will someday buy a new truck for owner operator endeavors and Freightliner will not be considered.
