    ideal temp is < 70 degrees. The thermal paste could be old. Scrape off that apply a new coating for paste and this should finish off the intended purpose. Cleaning the fan was a great job.

      @@adityachaudhary8456 your power limit is low or you did undervolting too much. Your laptop is not getting enough power. Can be the charging adapter too which cant provide enough power. You can fix temporarily by limiting CPU or GPU to 80% or something. If undervolted, reduce undervolt by 10mV and try try again. If power limit is controllable, reset it to 0 default. Other than that, the adapter can be the culprit.

    I'm telling you that cooling system is inadequate for a laptop with an i5 and dedicated graphics, just a single heat pipe and thin heatsink. My old Core 2 Duo notebook without dedicated graphics has a bigger fan and heatsink than this..COSTCUTTING!

    • @dgjm7129
      @dgjm7129 5 лет назад +7

      Cause your core 2 duo is less efficient than this modern cpus like the cpu has a tdp of 15w and i thing the gpu is the same

    • @lewisanth4986
      @lewisanth4986 4 года назад +4

      I know this is an old post but for anyone else thinking the same-
      let's start with the facts shall we?
      The cpu has a 15w TDP (temp boost to 25w for 25seconds) and the gpu core that is being actively cooled has a 25w TDP.
      The cooler is build to dissipate about 50w worth of heat.
      simple math will tell you this cooling system will have very few issues dissipating the heat of both the cpu and gpu at max tilt provided the thermal paste if of good quality.
      The cooling system of this laptop is hence declared perfectly adequate. 👍

      @@lewisanth4986 Source for the 50 W dissipation?

    • @lewisanth4986
      @lewisanth4986 4 года назад +2

      @@kiyoponnn friend's dad is a QC engineer in Taiwan for Acer. Apparently all mainstream laptop manufacturers do this. Take the cpu and gpu TDP (+ 50% dynamic TDP) then add about 10-20% of thermal headroom to account for inefficiencies such as thermal paste and what not(thermal headroom % is then again dependent on the spec of components - lower tdp laptops will have a lower thermal headroom compared to a state of the art gaming laptop with about 150w worth of heat to dissipate) . It's not an exact number but based on the spec of this machine the cooling system is more or less capable of dealing with about 50w of waste heat at an ambient of about 25c (that is the decided base ambient temp taken to estimate these numbers) . Eg:- slightly more if the ambient is cooler and vice versa. Sorry if this doesn't help you :/

      Hey Wilson, That depends on how much you use the laptop, if it's used daily for gaming purposes then clean it yearly, if general purpose use and occasional use then 2 years! This is the first time I've cleaned mine out after I bought it in early 2016 :D

    Wondering how much you can drop temps and fan noise further by repasting the machine with quality paste such as mx-4. Maybe even the overclock the gpu a bit? That would be nice if you could keep the temps in check in the process!

    • @TechGuyCharlie
      @TechGuyCharlie  4 года назад +1

      @@TechGuyCharlie all the more reason to do! Extract every bit of it as you can. Also suggest putting small aluminum or copper heatsinks on the gpu ram modules to help dissipate heat when you overclock!
