I have a 2000 C43 sedan. Undercarriage and derailleur are also replaced with new ones. I spent enough money to buy a new car, but this car is fun and I keep driving it. It will soon be 230,000 km, but the engine is in great condition. I plan on keeping this forever. best v8 sound

i daily drive my 1997 c240 , mainly for commuting , it now has 288000km , still drives like new, very relaxing with the automatic gearbox and cruise control.it’s dark blue with tan leather and sunroof.
I really enjoy and appreciate your passion to your car. You are a true enthusiast. The W202 (180 Elegance) was the first entirely new car in our family, so I love this model, too. The AMGs for sure are great, but motorsport at this era was about manual gearboxes. So I myself hunt for a C280 Elegance manual, malachite green / beige for years now, and will not make compromises to the colour. For daily, by now W210 E320 Avantgarde (dark green, 93.000 km original) and a R170 Final Edition SLK 200 in silver. Greetings from Hamburg Germany. Save Travels!

Me, driving a 99 C180 T with the AMG Bodykit and lowering (for some reason it came that way out of the factory) with about 370k km as a daily driver and hauling vehicle, oogling a 99 C43 T AMG that's for sale: Hell yeah!
Great video and great car, looking at one myself (had c280 before w202 and other Mercs). I got my first V8 last year a BMW 645ci and originally I was like damn this is gonna ruin me fuel wise but you know what, it hasn't.. it's more to run but if you love cars it's worth it and it's not as bad as everyone says. I had diesels in the past where I had such big bills to repair silly things and as far as I'm concerned that buys you a lot of petrol! So now when I look at cars I don't even care about mpg I don't even consider it, I never did with my 1l sports bikes so why are cars any different! Respect 👍👍

They're just becoming legal to import in the US and I am obsessed with finding one to bring over and daily. The way you talk about it makes it sound like everything I want in a car right now.

I guess it’s the 25 year rule for the US import? I have a friend in Texas (UK expat) who wants a Caterham 7 or similar and we talked about this some time ago.
If you go for the W202 saloon (ahem, sedan) rather than the estate you’ll have a lot more choice and they are much quieter inside for daily use. Get yourself a UK RHD one because the speedo will be in MPH and it will be even cooler to drive a RHD car there. I love my LHD Boss 302 here, it just makes it more fun.
Jump on a plane, get over here and source one, let’s make a video about it; that’ll be an adventure for sure.

Plus - I’m with you on the silver (owned a silver m3 for 6 years) but - it was the period colour of the time, late 90s/early 00s and I think it looks fantastic… how often do you see silver cars now? My dad had a c180 sport as a company car at the time, it felt like a tank and seemed so premium, the days before Mercs and BMWs were everywhere. Hats off to you driving an interesting older car daily!

I'm lucky enough to have one C180 -12/1999... full of extras .. 4 electric windows, magnetic key, original alarm, electric folding mirrors ESP !!!Tempomat and speed limiter, dark metallic blue outside with beige leather interior ... 150.000 km and always protected from weather elements in a garage. I have the original service book of the 1st owner. I bought it on Oct 2022. This car is the same age as my first VW Golf IV 1.6 . but those days (1999) I was much younger (30 y.o)to have it , besides I hadn't enough money to buy it. But I was looking at this car in the car magazines or the Merc Dealers. I wanted to have that exact packet ( ext color blue metallic - beige leather -ABS ESP...etc etc ) so I saw it in an advertisement and I've just bought it without second thought. Love at first sight. I'm addicted, I'm driving it every day to go to my work and come back home (150 kms). My Nissan Qashqai j11 diesel 1600 4x4, 2016 is full of dust in a garage. I think the Lord heard my "prayer" and he has just bought me a Mercedes Benz. . And yes, it is smart to have such a car, no doubt!!! Oh! nice music too. Thank you. 😄
I use my w220 12 cylinder daily, and i love it too. I done lots of long road trip, didn't miss a bit.
I've been driving the sedan model since 2011, with over 320k miles on it now, and it's completely fine. And, it's the most fun car I own.
Still very underappreciated cars, I did import mine from UK just before brexit and many car guys here don't even know they exist.

Great video, right attitude for a v8 too, I daily drive a 4.2 supercharged Range Rover, drink fuel but what a place to do long drives in, quick, quiet, comfy etc driven sensible will do 24mpg on a run.

I resent the statement that the factory stereo system is awful. It's actually quite good! I have 4 cars and I rank the stereos: 1. 2005 E55 AMG 2. 1999 C43 AMG 3. 2002 ML55 AMG 4. 2002 G500
I feel very good about myself that I am lucky enough to own one of these in a estate and in mer blue.
And I have a W126 v8.

WRT not realising how special they are, I agree; it’s nice that they don’t have the BMW scene tax yet. People don’t know about them as they are so rare.
