Beautiful!! Just make sure to clean out those drainage tubes for the sunroof/windshield and make it breath better, over the decades they can get clogged and overflow in a heavy rain into your passenger side footwell where your TCU and other electronics reside.
Wow, I had forgotten how incredibly subtle and easy to miss the styling of these early AMGs was! But then I guess that was the trend in the 90s - Understatment was cool. And quality was prioritised over headline grabbing 0-60 times. How things have changed! And not entirely for the better.
The interior is late 90s Mercedes garbage, but the setup is so good good with a simple and cheap but powerful engine (not to mention the rest of the tuning down by AMG that it’s more than tolerable, especially given the price of these on the used market now, it’s insane how cheap they are.
Thats in part down to the auto box. With a 6 speed manual it would probably do exactly that. But most Merc buyers want an auto so thats what it got as standard. It's rolling performance was better than standing starts.
Also remember it's 0 to 60 is slower but 60 to 120 is respectable. Surprises me every time I drive mine. Has a button under the gas pedal, if depressed hard it kicks down a little more aggressive then you expect
Back in the late 90s/early 2000s when AMG was first taking off and getting their name out, I think they were a little bit... aspirational/ambitious with their claimed HP outputs. A lightweight (at least by modern standards) 3400lb compact sedan with over 300hp should be putting down MUCH better performance numbers than that. Still a great car, nonetheless.
My parents have had their 99 C43 for nearly 10 years, currently sitting at 215k. Still runs and drives like a top

I have one 😈
Cool car. $52,000 in 1998. Adjusted for inflation (2022) this c43 would cost $94,789 😧
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Very nice this Mercedes and beautiful. Fantastic car

@@griffins750 I LOVE THE INTERIOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the size of engine I was thinking it should do 0 to 60 in 4.9
Still a beautiful machine nonetheless
my tsx is faster
6.5 to 0-60 is not very good. Should of been a a second quicker
True. But for 60-0 they got 95 feet. That's incredible even by today's standards.
