My 2000 W320 V6 has been flawless. The performance is fabulous. My 0-60 time is 6.4 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.2 seconds and 98 mph. Top speed in Germany is 155 mph! 50/50% weight balance, and weighs only 3,623 pounds. 5-speed with semi-manual gearbox. Totally rust free. The perfecy car!
KInda shocking MW got important stats WRONG. The E320 (in the US at least) had a 3valve/cylinder V6 engine, NOT an inline 6 and a 5speed auto, not a 4speed automatic.
You're mostly correct, but the powertrain of 1996 first model year of w210 E320 was completely carried over from the w124 (M104 inline-6 & 4-speed auto). 1997 model year brought the electronically controlled 5-speed auto, and 1998 brought the new 3-valve/twin spark V6 and V8 engines. Motorweek's stats on this 1996 test car are accurate.
Good part of the cost cutting must've largely come from the crap steel they used and lack of corrosion inhibitors all round. Body is definitely not the best looking either. Never got used to those spider eyed headlamps. Still a fantastically reliable car. Better than ALL that came before it, especially with the m112, the 722.6x and new 4matic overhaul. Great driver's car, just without the best looks.
The W210 is very reliable, they're just prone to rust, paint peeling and a few electrical issues because of the biodegradable wiring harnesses they introduced on the W202 in 1993.
I was 8 years old when this car came out and I thought it was so beautiful. I'm 34 now and I still think it's a beautiful, timeless design.
I onestly think the design looks weird but still a great car overall with great realiability and comfort.
I was 30 years old when I bought my first MB, this one. I still miss it after it rusted out.
Didn’t like these back when they were new, still don’t. Unimpressive, unappealing design. The start of the decline of Mercedes.
The old-school MB 'bankvault' doors closing at 1:47 is just music to my ears.
Beats my current ECC 400
I had a 97’ E420 sport , it was one of the best Benzes I have owned. M119 motor was a gem..
Me too! Loved my 97 E420 Sport
M119s are indestructible!
The 1996 Mercedes Benz E Class Looks Very Smart 100%
We have a 1998 E320 with over 230K miles and it is one of our very favorite cars ever-even versus some much newer cars we’ve had.
The M104 engine can't be beat smoothness wise... It was wonderful.
Pues en este año 2023 yo disfruto mi E320 Elegance W210 año 2002 💪💪👍👍🇲🇽🇲🇽

Its hard to believe the 2023 Dodge Charger is based on this 96 Mercedes E class chassis.
I thought it was the W211.
@@damilolaakannicorrect.
Every car should have those hideaway rear headrests. I took them out of my Accord, no one sits back there.🤷🏻
It’s a 5 speed not a 4 speed
The 5 speed automatic came out for the 1997 model year. The 1998 model year also brought the modular V6 and V8 engines.
I got a quarter tank of gas in my new E-class...
This car probably rusted out probably 1 year after this was filmed…
I still see a lot of these on the road

It’s the most reliable Benz made. The 124 or 211 and up doesn’t come close
Beginning of the end for MB. And a hideous design.
Too bad they were so unreliable!
What they are extremely reliable?

this was my worst benz🥲 it was still cozy tho
