    These cars are timeless.

      @@tonychavez2083 my buddy says the same thing. I like them both, but I get what you're saying.
      The 210 is a bit more understated and "stealth" if I could put it that way.

    I've had mine for years. No rust problems for those models assembled in Malaysia as the metal used was treated and galvanized. Malaysia is humid and we're surrounded by the sea. Rust can be a problem.
    Tue W210 is a wonderful car. Performs well, is economical and so very comfortable. I used to think that my 1995 W124 was as good as it got, until I drove the W210.

    My Dad had a 2002 W210, had over 310k miles on it by the time it died in ~2015. Rust of course. I spent countless hours in that car with my Dad, safe, comfortable, happy. One day I'll buy one of these cars just to have. If there are any left in a few years due to rust. RIP LM02 WCW.

      @@srbuilders1370 my 210 e-class is 22 years old, mint and rust free. There are lots around and imo, absolutely worth it. Get one with less than 200k.
      Timeless, classy, cool and turns heads when it's clean & polished. -oh yeah. Even the e320 has lots of jam in sport/summer mode (though the e55 is a monster).
      I'll never be without one.

    How can I get the keyless entry remote replaced

    • @garrettdodson6110
      @garrettdodson6110 3 года назад

      These cars didn’t come with keyless entry. Seeing as you have to press the button on the key means it’s not keyless. Keyless entry came about in 2000 on the w220 S class. It started as an optional credit card like device you kept in your wallet. As you approved the car it would recognize this device and would allow the carrier to unlock the car by simply grabbing the handle of any door. Then to start you press the brake and press a start stop button which on earth models was on shifter selector. These old style flip keys still have to be ordered and programmed at the dealer and they are still around 500 bucks all said and done.

    Why the hell isn't the air filter permanently in use?
    And why, why should I need to unlock the car with the remote if I accidentally locked the doors after getting inside? What is the purpose of that?
    Oh Mercedes! You forgot about simplicity of use!

    • @stjohnent
      @stjohnent 5 лет назад +2

      As I understand the cabin air filters are always in use but the charcoal filters are user selected. That's why there are 2 sets of cabin filters.

    • @straightpipediesel
      @straightpipediesel 2 года назад +1

      Not a Mercedes thing. Jaguars and Rovers had the same feature. It was an early version of the immobilizer which used the remote's rolling code to prevent theft by hot wiring. Since most people used the remote to lock and unlock, it was seamless unless as stated you accidentally pressed the lock button after you got in the car.
