Thanks the video Max. I was the owner of this car. Absolutely awesome car, extremely reliable and will miss it. I have since sold the car to another Merc enthusiast.
I own a 2001 E430 and it’s one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. Recently drove it 2000 miles (avg. 25.5mpg) across the US southwest and it performed flawlessly! I also own a W211 E55 AMG with much more power and refinement but the E430 is the one I usually pick when I want to arrive in style.
I had the facelifted version of the 430 with 4 matic. Sadly rusted away in our northern climate here in Sweden/Norway at the end. But everything mechanical still ran like clockwork after more than 400.000 km. Nothing ever done do the engine nor transmission except a crank position sensor. Interior was still nice also.
I have an 01 E430 with 215k on the clock now, upgraded from a 97 E320 which I owned trouble-free for a year. Incredible car. When I bought it several months ago, it had been sitting for 2 years and it fired right up with a boost. It still drives like new, the paint and chrome still shines, and even all of the electric functions still work. These cars are built like a brick shit house. The thickness of the steel panels and bumpers is ridiculous. And what a great engine!
The M113 V8 is a phenomenal engine. This was extremely powerful for the time 1998-2002, and is bulletproof. I have a 2001 E430 Sport, which was extremely rare in the US. It comes with the same suspension and aero body work as the E55. Since live in the San Francisco Bay Area I don’t have any rust. I have owned 3 W124 models and 3 W 210. I still have my 1990 300CE a fabulous car, as well as my E430 Sport and my wife’s 2000 E430. These cars although designed in the mid 1990’s are still modern today. So much better than the newer Mercedes .
Hi , I’m about to buy 1999 e430 with 160.000 miles on it , I live in Bay Area as like you. Would you recommend me to buy old Mercedes with 160.000 miles ? The owner says car doesn’t have any issues and doesn’t have any rust on it
I have owned 3 W210’s over a 25 year period, and none have ever had rust. Still have my wife’s 2000 E430 with 130,000 miles and my 2001 E430 Sport which just turned 100,000 miles. Just drove the Sport up to Twain Harte this morning, showing 26.7 MPG for the trip. If the car you’re looking at has been maintained, it should go up to 250,000 or more with little trouble. Check that the transmission fluid and filter has been changed. Mercedes claimed at the time that they were good for the life of the car, but most will tell you to change it at 50K or so.
Just bought this 2 weeks ago. W210 E430 V8 4matic 🤩 Can't wait to start personalize and make a subtile styling to it. It's got only 180.000km on it and it feels like a dream to drive it😃
I had received this car for almost nothing because it came to me smoking. Only thing that was wrong was a crankshaft sensor and the bottom cross member had taken an uppercut from a speed bump. Forcing the radiator to touch the engine fan. Also suffers clear coat issues from factory. Solid car. Good car. Smooth. Got it 190k. Now it’s 250k. I’ve had a couple cars but this one made me feel blessed. 99 w210 E430
I live in Europe & had a w202 C180 which sold in order to buy a w210 E200 kompressor. Even though I loved the w202, the w210 feels like a HUGE update! I love to cruise this car so much! Such a great built quality which can not be found in modern Mercedes :(
@@maxgal There have been cuts on the car developing budgets in general. The biggest developing budget was on the w124 and we still see nowadays how that went 😅. Apart from that, now they spend a big part of the budget on tech stuff (touch screens, automations etc) while developing a model instead of investing in quality. If Mercedes still had the same level of built quality, the cars would 100% have X2 price. So they sacrifice quality to tech since the market wants a Mercedes computer that also is a car. Personally I find modern cars out of character and not interesting at all.
Love these cars...the last proper ultra reliable Mercedes, have owned w124 230E manual, a w210 pre facelift which came with the full Brabus package and now a w210 facelift ....all.of them drive fantastic. Recently drove a C250 2023 model and its driving doesn't resemble at all the old Mercedes style, let alone that it has numerous reliability issues...my super dream Mercedes is a w 140 coupe but they are very rare to find in decent condition and fairly reasonable money
I own a 02 e430 in the the USA and I have to say for a sedan it's a bad ass car and suprises a lot of people that try to beat me off the line, most of the time they don't stand a chance 😂and at 120mph it feels like you're going 65mph. It handles awesome and corners great for a big car. Only complaints are poorly designed cup holder and to much cheap plastic parts that break like egg shells after being in the Florida sun. Besides that I love driving it and smoking cars off the line and top end if we have the road for it.
my Dad use to have a 1980 W123 Mercedes-Benz 280 E - owned the vehicle from 1998 through to 2005. we were originally from Adelaide and have been living in Mount Gambier since October 30th - 2009... Good to see you out here again working on the car channel... In pretend life I went to church this morning " certainly will not be going in real life. 🤣🤣🤣👀🤣🤣🤣. Me being a Cunny Funt. From William... "F" word is a cxxx xf a wxxx... There's plenty of Cat Funts over weight...
It’s funny how all reviews of the E430 always go on about how big and powerful and fast the engine is but in reviews of the bigger S430 with the same engine they always say things like “this one has the smaller entry level engine” 😅
@maxgal Perhaps, but that V8 can handle more abuse overtime then the 4. And those turbos usually dies after 100k and are costly. I'll take the naturally aspirated V8 all day long. The V8s are generally smoother engines too!

Two impressive cars you have Rick, good taste

Yeah there well built. Lucky here in Australia we never really get rust badly
Just bought this exact car because I watched your video, it is a dream!! I love it !!

Great engine. Feels like a tank on the road loved it

I own a 2001 E430 and she kicks butt with only 114.000 miles

I just got one myself. I'm interested in how you'll style it. Do you have an insta?

Yeah sad reality.
Maybe because newer cars are so mass produced made by robots

I have one E430 2001 B4 guard. Perfectly safe with bulletproof glasses and style.
Awesome video mate 🤙
Thanks bro
i got a e430 combi xD with 4matic
here in germany
It’s common in the US to install
The 5.5litre amg v8 into a regular w210……. The idea being - sleeper and comfy for those huge drives across USA ……

It might be 1 or 2 years, planning to own one by then, hopefully with low mileage or below 100k mi
I'm getting almost 18 mpg in city in USA. Not horrific. 1998 E430
02 e55 owner. The e430 in video seems have much smoother ride than mine! Or Canada road sucks😂
It does!
@@maxgal How reliable are these cars? Are they money pits that will cost me a fortune to fix?
210 parts are cheap, biggest problem on 210 is rust 🎉

A lot more to come :). W123 is a beautiful car
just sold mine 2001
are these rims 17" ?
tell them where people put there drinks. the holders are tucked away in a bad spot
