      SUPERCHARGE!!!!!!!!!!

    • @shortthrow50
      @shortthrow50 7 лет назад +4

      you keep saying supercharge. have you ever supercharged or worked on any car? Well I have and that costs money and time. A decent amount of money. You don't just buy a supercharger and slap it on the motor. You have to swap out and upgrade a lot shit. This car is junk and not worth the time and money. Just meant to be driven the way it is. Maybe haveit painted and sell it for a couple thousand

    • @mcearl8073
      @mcearl8073 7 лет назад +4

      shortthrow50 there's 3 things that people on RUclips tell other people to do with damn near any car these days.
      LS swap it
      Supercharge it
      Twin turbo it
      About 95% of the time all three options are really dumb and make zero sense and are generally very impractical and cost prohibitive. But they won't stop telling people what to do. I'm sure they think it's like a video game where everything costs fake money and always fits and only takes a second to do

    these cars are so rare and just ooze legitimacy. It's going to be a historic car one day. A friend has a 98 c43 parts car for sale for 1k in the Nashville TN area. Most of what you need is standard w202 stuff you can get for pennies. Please keep it going, or sell it to someone who will treat it right.
    And I'm not surprised it runs perfectly. They were extremely well built and durable cars. I have 308k miles on mine.

    I feel like it would be a cool project to turn this car back into being something respectable. You certainly have the tools and skills to do so! It's a pretty uncommon car and you got it for practically nothing, so even if you have to put in a few grand to get it fixed up you'll have a cool car at the end of the day. Plus there's just something so gratifying about taking a neglected car and giving it the love it needs.

      LegitStreetCars .. Dude, sell it to someone who will give it a fair chance at survival. Yeah it's messed up and in need of a lot of very doable work, but it's a rare old Mercedes.. It's an actual Mercedes, not like the overpriced shit they have now. Address the diy stuff and give it a chance! Don't just trash it and set it up to die in some competition where the goal is to see how much a car can take before it dies.. or sell it to someone who will do it

    • @davezetec
      @davezetec 7 лет назад +6

      Gonna have to agree, wouldn’t want to watch this get trashed. Either sell it onto someone who will give it a shot or do it yourself.. alternatively a track car? That’s a non destructive pastime that doesn’t require perfect bodywork just mechanical soundness.

    These are great cars! My buddy use to own one. If it was me, I'd perform a basic tune up. Fuel & air filters, oil change, spark plugs & wires. For the body, I'd source the correct front fenders, a hood off of any C-class from that era and clean up the rear bumper. I'd have Maaco do a full paint job in the original color. Clean up the interior as best you can. For ~$2k you'd have a genuinely nice car to call your own. I loved the video - keep it up!

    man you can totally get another regular c class and dismantle it for parts, i think fenders, bonnet, trunk lid and all that is the same, you can reupholster the headliner on the inside, chemically clean it and it would be a peach. im sitting here half way across the world and don't know the prices for repainting, but here - it would totally be an option. Another thing is you can do is - gut this amg and put everything on a different benz (granted you find a cheap clean one). I hate seeing rare cars butchered for "cheap racing" and think this one should return to glory or help another car reach his. just not beat it into the ground :(

    turn it into a daily driver and document how you do it on a budget ... lets say you give yourself a budget of $4,000 and the challenge is to turn it into the best possible car with that budget and do it over 3 video series... call friends for parts, ask ppl for favors, get parts from the junkyard do whatever it takes and once it's done... do an online auction and any profits you make give the money to a good Charity organization like "feed my Children" you get lots of publicity, do a good thing, sell the car and cover your costs and give plenty of tips and tricks to restore a car to daily driver standards! ... What do you think?

    What to do? Cooling and oil systems first. Replace fluids. Check for leaks. Then break exam and onto wiring. If it passes, then engine bay. Check factory tune, timing, plugs. Oil,
    air filter. Clean, disinfect the interior and the mold then lastly, exterior cosmetics.

    I'm not a fan of the extra bondo "molding" that is horrible. Kinda reminded me of my mindset when I was 17 and had the mindset "You can DIY anything after a few months of research", of course over the years experience and research is what gets you better as a DIYer. Till this day I have unfinished fenders on my car but they are made from fiberglass and after I get my degree I will fix the car up and do full restore. This c43 interior wise can be fully restored but unless you are into a lot of body work (no one is) or you find a full body kit or OEM panels. The outside will suck.
    I watched one of your videos a very long time ago and I wanted to sub but then I couldnt find you for the life of me since I was in incognito. I'm glad I found you again and subbed.

    Good score. I did find a real good deal a few years back on a 2000 Audi A8L in real good condition. Owner said it stopped running for unknown reason. His shop told him it wasn't worth fixing. I purchased for $400 and found it was only a bad fuel pump. AWD 4.2 V8 at 310 HP car. I mounted coilovers from another car I had and 2005 A8 19" rims then sold it for over $4k.

    Here in the UK you could get that car in great condition for under 5k that being said parts are also pretty cheap. Headlights and amg air box around 150 all the interior parts wouldn't cost a great deal either new bonnet around 50 and the proper amg mono blocks with tyres around 500 sand it down and prep it yourself spray booths charge 40 an hour you could get that thing looking mint and running right for under 2k easy and could possibly double your investment. My 2 cents lol

    I can't remember which forum, but the ford fiesta (2013 - 2017) has a recently found major defect! The coolant pipe to the turbos in some of the golden goose ecoboost engine has been mismanufactured or something in some and is rusting through, even in some low milage cars. Many are needing replaced or rust treatments. If they manage to leak, the engine is destroyed beyond repair in SECONDS which costs over £1000 to replace. Its been the best selling car in the UK for a while, and there are actually more UK sales for it than in the US. The same engines are in the focus and latest model fiesta too, so they may end up exhibiting the same issues. I believe its also used in transit vans and perhaps some other Ford vehicles.

    Bagging out the rear suspension. That's your cut in. Racing a car with barely-used components - off anything that you can find the same bolt sizes from - is a major win. The honest truth is that you cannot race as fast as you like until you have confidence in your ability to STOP it. So in your $500 class, you could always start with a brake kit out front, and mod up your rear axle. Also, do add the support stuff when you go in and do it. Youll see what i mean when you get under jt. If you JUST mod one thing on that car, make it the rear. Those things are nigh-and-day difference between off the shelf and how they perform after everything had been stiffened up. REMEMBER! Do not "stiffen up" the lateral axis of the suspension. There is a tightly toleranced amount of sway. The best going on the track is had with new shock-absorber, rubber components, basically the moving parts of the suspension, and linkage modifications. You may honestly find a different rear end setup makes your car likely to won in at least some of the classes you talked about. These cars love when you fiddle with those rear end linkages. Adjustable bits are always preferable.
