I love when your older videos pop up when I'm looking up how to do something.I was looking how long I need to cook my white beans in the instant pot. I'm so thankful for everyone of your videos Mrs. Lori!
We make our beans just like you in the instant pot but I add celery instead of pepper. With the food shortage last year I keep a couple pounds of ham in the freezer, wrapped separately,. I actually get it in the deli and ask them to slice it thick. That way its easy to dice for the beans..I also chop up about three slices of bacon too. If I want split pea soup I do it the same way but add carrots.. Keeping beans and ham on hand like that is good thing. A big pot of beans can feed us a few days if food is in short supply or you need to stretch it. Or you can freeze up half of it for a meal another night without a lot oil f cooking! PS cooking your beans in the instant pot cuts down on the gas toots!!! Hahaha!

Love your sink, faucet and new cutting board. How handy is that!! Food looks delicious 😋
Hey Lori,
I cooked a pot of red beans yesterday!
I added ham, sausage, onions, garlic, green onions & bell peppers. And Tony's seasoning.
I like to puree my onions and freeze it in ice cube trays. Then store the cubes in ziploc bags.
So excited to try these tonight! Found your video after wanting to make some "good ol' beans and cornbread" as my sweet grandma has been telling me to do for ages!
Ms Lori, I made this last night for dinner. It was fabulous, had just enough leftover for lunch today. There was something about this that made me think of another soup and I didn't put my finger on it till this morning......Campbell's bean with bacon soup! It tastes so similar and I love them both now. I am new to instapot and would love more recipes.
Mrs. Lori, the beans look delicious. I make my Great Northern Beans something like you do, I also add diced carrots and celery and red pepper flakes for a little heat. They are my husbands favorite beans. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
Thank you. Can't wait to make this meal when it gets cold outside. I love ham hocks and beans! The small batch of cornbread will top it off nicely. It's nice to have the small recipe. We can't eat a lot of that. I am new to your channel and am enjoying it very much. God bless.
I just made this recipe and boy is it good! I bought my Instant Pot about 2 years ago, but wasn’t pleased with the first dish I cooked in it so it hasn’t been used until today. I think I may be in love with it now.
This looks delicious. Great to have a small batch for just 2. Thank you Ms. Lori
Looks really good! Nice to see a small batch of cornbread since now I am cooking for one.
My favorite childhood comfort foods:)
Thank you, Ms Lori. Appreciate you so much!
