Joe Tex is singing this song in a truthful way. The song is telling the raw facts. If you don't want it, somebody will!
Thank you, for allowing other's to see my grandfather's talent! It's such a great feeling!
I grew up listening to your Grandfather truly a great absolute fan x

Alexis, your grandfather was/is my hero!
Joe Tex deserves to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If you think he does, like this post.
Right ✅
You are most definitely are correct Jumaine, but you know I'm with you on this..but this is why the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame wa s created...to combat the racism in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!...much love on your post and support of Joe Tex..and The Marvelettes, Dionne Warwick, Kool and The Gang...the list goes on and on...
Right, but "the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" itself is a joke, i don't worry.
@@lawrenceforde what sucks.....I didnt even know about the rhythm and blues hall of fame.

Hold On What You've Got!
He was a legend
He was a genius
The absolute peak of Country Soul. It simply never got any better then Mr. Tex. His work with Buddy Killeen will stand as testament to the what country music could and should have been for all of it's existence. A few got a shot to show what they could do in the field, but it was too short of a list.
1964- 65 1st time I ever heard my father sing along with a record...work sun up 2 sun down! Married 65 years both RIP.A legend in my book!!!

I begged my Mother to give me the name of Mr. Tex because this song was HEAVY on my mind today. I grew up listening to this with my Grandmother. This song is a great lesson and it's timeless. It can be applied in life general; whether you're in a relationship or work, it applies to anything. I love when he says: IF YOU THINK .....I truly love this song. Blessings 💞
He was underrated
I first saw Joe when I was 12, and to this day have never lost my affection for the vastly underrated artist---just thinking his name still makes me smile, and I'm convinced that had he lived, he'd have still been making some great records at 90!! Love to you, Alexis!!
He was sosososo talented

Now the theme to an IKEA advertisement in Norway. Had it not been for that ad, I'd never have heard of Joe Tex, nor enjoyed his music. I'll now be hunting down more.
Joe Tex should be inducted to the hall of fame now!!
Happy Birthday. Joe Tex.
Very underrated.....needs a good documentary done on him....maybe an Unsung episode too.

That was WLAC. We could pick it up in Indy. I drove all the way to Ft. Wayne one night, and listened to WLAC the whole way -- came in loud & clear on a clear starry night.
Really insightful song
I was 15 years old when I heard this for the first time. Still luv this . There will NEVER EVER be times and singers like this AGAIN!!!
Rest in Peace Mr. Joe Tex. Thank you for the beautiful blessings your songs have brought us from our youth until now.

Favourite
Took me back to my childhood riding with dad and listening to the best of Mr Azziez aka Mr Tex. Loved the fact that he became MUSLIM!!!!
So true, I remembered going 2 his concert in Selma, Alabama at the National Guard Armory, at the age of 14. I am now 69. He was mistreated.
Gatemouth Brown in the back too, what a great clip! fantastic song.
Finely done by Joe Tex. The times that he say, with his hand by his mouth, "iiiiiiiiif, (in falsetto) you think......." sounds very nice. The lady in the back, dancing, and dressed in white and blue looks very nice as she does that.
He was superb
My favorite Joe Tex song , Timeless & the epidemy of what a Man deservers of a Woman when He truly recognizes the Woman of his heart. ❤ LARRY HOLMES (Wichita Kansas) MCLARRY ( Ladies Man)

Oh dude, I’m a bit drunk now and I’ve quit before some relationships, nice jobs, oh boy, alls coming up now bro, crying like a freakin baby. Music is life
Is this legitimately the live recording? I can't imagine due to vocal clarity etc. But damn, what a mind-melting voice.
It's definitely live. When he was speaking instead of singing is something you just can't honestly lip sync to.
