Thanks. I just feel like everything's moving too slowly... I really want to get this thing going asap. I've been slammed on the side; but with something that should help everything along - my next videos will hopefully explain.
That's what a reasonable person would do, lol. I'm more impatient than wise - I'm dying to get this thing on the dyno asap - it's been too long. I'm going to go by the clean looking fluid and just set it up and run it - I'll probably check the band, though. The glide is filled with BTE parts, and has extra steels/frictions, so it should be pretty solid.
You said the place was in Alabama? Is ptc and acc the same converter company. Ptc is a good converter for sure. Not doubting what you got they have to be good. For people doubting it I think the converter with lockup would be a different process
Yeah, they're in Alabama. And PTC and ACC are different companies. I've spoken with Lane at PTC before - they make great stuff too. ACC does a lot more volume, as well as private label stuff; where PTC is mostly just race and performance converters. The proof will be at the track.
@@AlexLTDLX or the wastegate is electric and the turbo is all new. Sorry, the information was all over the place at that time and I still haven't caught up.
Good luck with that converter.. i spent over a grand with them and they just kept sending me their cheapest converter. As it kept blowing apart behind a 400hp engine.. nothing but junk. Ptc way better place to deal with.
Actually, I did - the sonnax one. But Nelson talked me out of it. There are times when it's usually better to defer to the professionals. I think (hope) this is one of those times. Good thought, though!
interesting point on the weld vs balloon plate! hope this converter can hold all the power now!
I hope so too.
LoL @ " approximately/ exactly" another great video Alex! Love the footage from the converter build.

Wow been awhile since I have seen a boss hog converter. Unfortunately the last one I used was not up to the 500 hp task.
Will certainly find out. And you can be sure I'll post the results.
My suggestion is to have the glide gone through before you install that converter, It's the perfect time!

Did Ford hire you for the new ecoboost? I might be wrong but I thought I heard them say the turbo is now electric.
Actually I hadn't heard that. I'll look into it.

Interesting. I’ve been thinking that my Toyota needs a better converter when I do the engine swap.

We'll find out. And I'll certainly post the results one way or another.
Check it out start at 5 :00
Spragless? Didn't want a mechanical diode?
