    Hey Nick,
    I know you don't like answering the "will I go bald" questions, so I've been trying to watch as many videos of yours so I can avoid bothering you. However, I keep finding weird little nuances about myself in regards to your five main predictors in "The Nick Shell System" that make it hard for me to know what I'm dealing with.
    1.) At worst, my hairline has receded to exactly where yours is and at best, my hairline is about centimeter lower than your hairline. I have no thinning and noticeable recession along the hairline at the center point, but as you move back towards the temples, there is some relatively minor asymmetrical thinning on the hairline that goes up towards the center of my head about about half a centimeter. I have no thinning anywhere else and my hair is strong, healthy, and has remained virtually unchanged since about 18 or 19. I should also point out that I have never been below a Norwood 1 even as early as middle school. I also vaguely recall my temples always being relatively thin when I had hair there.
    2.) The hairline I had when I was one is almost exactly the same as what I have now give or take a bit since all the pictures I have from then are with my bangs down which make it kind of hard to determine precisely. The thin hair I had on my temples mentioned earlier is also somewhat present.
    3.) By 17 or 18 I could grow thick sideburns and a thick neck beard, but it didn't start to move up past the chin area significantly until maybe 20 or 21. Those areas are still relatively patchy, albeit slowly filling in. Despite all this, I am a hairier guy in general over the rest of my body and have been since about the same time my hair receded at 18 or 19. Recently, I have been seeing more random longer darker hairs show up on my uppers arms and shoulders, which makes me think I might be getting more hair there soon.
    4.) I just turned 23
    5.) Prominently German, Polish, and Swedish heritage, with a tiny bit of Irish, Scottish, and British too.
    First and foremost, I am sorry for making you read such a long comment. If you're reading this, thank you for taking the time to look at something you've probably been asked way too many times now. What I want to know is will my hairline recede significantly more by the time I reach 35? I have been going on and off having a definite answer to this question for a few months because these extra details about my hair make it hard for me to give precise answers to some of the questions in "The Nick Shell System". I feel stupid for not knowing the answer to something that is probably extremely straightforward to you, but I can't help but complicate things for myself and I just want a second opinion that will help set the record straight. Again, I'm sorry for this essay of a comment and I hope things are well for you.

      No its not. My cousin can grow a beard and chest hair since high school and his hairline hasn't changed since high school. he is now 23. there are no bald men in his family on either side. it's just that his follicles are not sensitive to male hormones. That's about it. No external signs can predict baldness. My uncle is bald but he can't grow a full beard and he's not a hairy dude at all.

    This is some truth right here. I was 18 when I became more curious with MPB as my Dad has it. I remember being so paranoid at 21 about it and now Im nearly 30 with no hair loss. Also you should add if you start graying young, it usually means you wont go bald. Found my first gray hair when I was a teen and even though I grew a lot more grays since then, no signs of balding (NW1 hairline) with very thick, coarse hair. Stay away from sulphate shampoos, use natural oils like jamaican black castor oil, and eat clean. By the way none of his points applies to me with the exception Im not 35 yet

    Tip number one: do a DNA test if you really want to know the truth for some reason.
    Tip number two: stop overthinking it.
    And even if you learn that you will be bald at 35, what will you do with it and why do you need to know? Just live and enjoy life, happiness is not in the hair. Bald head does not scare anyone, many women like bald men, many girls do not care. Bald men are everywhere and it’s absolutely normal.

      From looking at your profile pic it looks like you have a full head off hair. Its very easy to sit there with a full head of hair and preach about this shit. But if your hair thinned out and started full on balding, you would feel very differently about it. I have met loads of guys who say "i'd just shave my head if I went bald" and then when it actually starts happening they freak out big time and become very depressed. I agree many women don't care, but id also say that 80-90% of young women in their early 20s do care. Also it very much depends how you look bald. Some guys faces just don't suit it.

    • @dmitrylaktionov
      @dmitrylaktionov 4 года назад +1

      @@lucygilbertson3746 i don't think its easy at all. My second cousin is completely bald at 22, but he has a girlfriend and she doesn't care. And he's not handsome, just a normal guy. When I see a bald friend or meet a bald stranger, I feel the same way about it as I do about people with a full head of hair. Yes, I wouldn't want to be bald, but it's okay to be bald. You just don't have a choice about hairstyles. I think it's a lot of stress, but it's temporary. I can't say I'm going bald yet. Maybe I won't at all, given my father's side. But the mother's side is the opposite and in her family, men go bald. My uncle on my mother's side is bald at 35, just like his father. So I watch these videos because I'm concerned about this issue. A full head of hair at 22 doesn't guarantee that it will be the same at 26 or 30. That's why I watch these videos.

      @Slugglover what’s the difference whether I’m bald or not? I write facts. and you look like a person who is offended by life because you are bald and you need support from the same bald person like you. Go watch "Baldcafe". And what about the doctors trichologists who have Norwood 0 in their 50s? They also have no right to do this and talk about it? You have strange conclusions man.

    • @dmitrylaktionov
      @dmitrylaktionov 3 года назад

      @Slugglover lol, well, imagine that I’m also preparing for the future. Although, in fact, I looked just out of interest at another opinion about baldness. And you write as if you are part of the bald community and only bald can comment on baldness. This is fucking funny. But it turns out you don’t even go bald, but you write that my opinion doesn’t matter, because I’m Norwood 0. Dude, the most useless comment is yours.
      Btw, where did I write not a fact? I wrote that only the DNA test is the most proven method and that bald men are everywhere. Where the fuck do you see the opinion here? These are facts.

    You need to talk about the 6th rule, which is bald men tend to have lower beard lines. Some of them tend not to be able to grow as much hair on their cheeks. Although they may grow a beard earlier in life, a lot of them have a lower beard line than other’s.

    Ok, my dad is in his 60’s and is at a NW 1 and his dad was the same way up until his death.
    1. I’m currently 17, turning 18 soon
    2. I basically had a full head of hair. The only difference is that it was blonde
    3. I still have all my hair. It’s also really thick as well so that’s a plus.
    4. I have can get a thin mustache, barely a goatee, and I could get some sideburns. I couldn’t get a beard if I wanted to.
    5. I’ve been told that I’m part Native American on my mother’s side, but it’s not confirmed since I haven’t done a genealogy. Though my dad and his dad both come from Ireland and have kept a thick and or fine set of hair.
    So, will I go bald?

    Hey, I've recently found your channel and have been freaking out lately. I noticed that my scalp was visible in the back of my head, specifically on the back/side area in certain lighting and angles. I have naturally thin and straight hair, so I am wondering if this is to blame. In addition to this, it was cut a lot shorter than the top of my head (which is much longer, because of an undercut), where on the top I can't really notice anything sus just yet. My hairline is 100% and hasn't changed since age 15, and is probably an NW0. I've had barbers tell me that my hair is the thinnest and straightest they've seen.
    My dad has a full head of hair but is gray, and actually refutes your theory (he started graying by his late 20s, and he still has a full head of hair, along with not being able to grow a beard until much later). I really hope that the back of my head isn't thinning, but from all the videos and research it seems like everybody here seems to look at your hairline first when looking at hair loss. In addition to this, my only bald family member would be my maternal grandpa, and he has claimed he could grow a beard in high school, extremely early, which also seems to line up with your theory. Depending on the lighting, when my hair is cut short it definitely looks gray, especially if it is overcast outside or even sunny. I think my hair might be following a similar pattern to my dad - starting to get darker in college, and then eventually graying out.
    How common is it for you to lose hair in an untraditional way (eg. starting from the back or sides, and moving up?). The top of my head (which is grown out, while the sides/back are shaved), appears to be OK, even when wet it looks good, which is a good sign, no? I think I might have a cowlick and the lighting is misleading me making it seem like the hair around it is thinning, but I'm not sure.
    I'm 19 almost 20 years old and still can't grow much more than some extremely light facial hair (not even connected either) after 1 week of no shaving. Generally, I'll shave once a week with an electric razor because my facial hair is so thin and sparse. I can go a week without shaving and look somewhat babyfaced even. My facial hair still looks like high schoolers, even at age 20. I also do not have much body hair at all, and recently got a little bit of chest hair in the last year. I actually have pretty much no hair on my arms. So, I would say that I am not hairy at all. I've always had extremely thin hair on my head, and it even reflects this on my body and facial hair, which is also extremely thin. I couldn't even grow any facial hair aside from some peach fuzz until recently after high school, I think i noticed a lot start to come in around age 19.
    Do you think I am screwed? When I see the back of my head in different angles, and the scalp is showing it scares me because it looks like the hair is indeed thinning (specifically on the back and vertex). However, my hair there is cut a lot shorter than on the top of my head, where I do not notice any thinning (other than my naturally thin hair).

So my mother side has full hair. My grandfather at mother side, he had full hairs. He died 67 years old. I looked my picture when I was 1 years old. I had hairs. Now I have a receding hairline in nw2. and I have dandruff. And my hairs took slower to grow. My beard is not full. My background is Albanian. What do you think for me ? Will I go bald or not ?

Checked my age 1 photos and I have hair on my head but it was thin and one of the reasons it looks thin was because it was blonde so much and the quality of photos are really bad so hard to predict. I am Turkish my backround is greek and not any of member my family is middle eastern all of them bulgarian greek and armenian(migrated to Turkey).

      You might have as much hair as I do at age 39, but thinner.

    Yes, If you worrying that you might be going bald, you probably are. If you have bald(ing) relatives so the chances are even higher. Stop fooling yourself and act.

      Not for me, because my hair is not related to my confidence level.
