- We went white water rafting for the first time on our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, and oh my goodness, did it exceed our expectations.
We went with a company called Big Bear Rafting and the guides were awesome, the level of difficulty was perfect for our first time white water rafting-especially since we had five children ages 6-15!

Yes, for sure! A nice little float in some spots-more paddling in others! A good mix for sure.

Making sure I don’t miss a video in this series. We still need to go to this area. When I went white water rafting several folks fell off at the small falls during the rapids. You guys look like you had a blast. Even Rosalie can do this, loved it. Your photos were so good. And great pick of music.
They must’ve had bigger rapids than where we went-I can’t imagine anyone falling out at the spot we were at! Rosalie could definitely handle it! 💕 thanks, Carl!

The Upper would be the perfect start for you guys!! Big Bear Rafting Co is such a small, local business and every interaction with everyone that worked there was so great. We can’t recommend them enough of you want to give it a try!!

That was my fave!! Just being in the water surrounded by mountains-I booked a float trip for our trip to Wyoming next month too, just because it’s such a different perspective being on the water compared to being on a hiking trail. Both fun!!

I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect… This was SO tame though. If you find a place with Class I and II rapids only, it’s totally doable for anyone! 💕

We've never been white water rafting, but hearing about the showers does sound like a nice amenity. I'd hate to have to drive home gross from the river water.
Yes, exactly! Surprisingly, we were the only ones that used them! Lol but I felt the same way thinking about all seven of us getting back in the car for an hour ride smelling like the River. Lol 😂
Oooh I wanted to go white water rafting when G was here but Jay voted against it...next time I'm making the plans and not giving them choices - LoL

I was nervous too-but honestly class I or II rapids were really easy. If we could do it y’all could do it I’m positive of that!! Lol 😆

We are getting ready to plan our trip and want to go through big bear also! Random question what did yall use to video while on the water.
We have a GOPro that we’ve used for the last couple years! It’s great for this kind of thing. We also use it on beach trips in the ocean, swimming pools/water parks, hiking, horseback riding… can’t recommend that camera enough!
