What I love about the river people is don't matter what company you are with you get in trouble they will help you out. I was a guild onetime fell out at grumps it beat the crap out of me and another guy. That was end of our trip I hurt for a week.
Great point about everyone pitching in to help. I think this video shows that aspect well. Guides often change companies and many of us have worked together in the past.
The guy who swam out to help the rafters that were stuck is a pro in the water. That guy knew exactly what to do and he executed perfectly. Very impressive, made it look easy.
The Cat's PJ'S flips certainly seem to be intentional. Some companies allow or even encourage that at the bottom of Cat's PJ'S. However most companies forbid juicing or dumping; they are concerned about t-grip injuries. I do not juice for cash or otherwise.
Being alert, listening, following the paddle commands, and paddling effectively really makes a difference. The crew plays a huge role in the type of experience they will have. Rafting is not an amusement park ride.
The level looks in the range of a normal release. As I recall the river had changed a bit and Godzilla got stickier. During negotiations with TVA water levels were generally barely the required flow. Some holes got easier but other became harder to run clean.
The crew really can make a difference in the experience. Pro tips for the crew include: Remain alert. Listen to your guide. Follow paddle commands in a timely manner. Paddle effectively.
Hello great video, I enjoy this ride many times since my kids grow in Georgia. Is this the same section of the river that was part of the Olympic games/activity? Thanks
This video features video from the Olympic Course on the Upper Ocoee as well as footage from the Middle Ocoee. I am also a river guide that works the Ocoee during the northern hemisphere summer fastfreds.com/raft and I spend the off-season in South America fastfreds.com/travel
All these rafting vids crack me up. It is rare to see a swimmer with their feet downstream, back up paddling with their hands. Don’t the guides talk to them about this?
Those guests all get a safety speech at the outpost before boarding the bus to the river. Then the guides give them an additional safety talk before launching on to the river. However people often panic when they experience something outside their comfort zone. Fortunately the Olympic Course where much of the mehem occurs is a safe venue with an extremely low change of entrapment. Come on down to the Ocoee and watch it live for yourself and chat with these people.
Thank you for your support. The waterfall is named Big Bradley and is located in Polk County North Carolina. The hike is not for the meek of heart nor unfit.
Instant karma as John Lennon would say: Instant Karma's gonna get you Gonna knock you right on the head You better get yourself together Pretty soon you're gonna be dead
@@FastFredRuddock I will, I live in Cali, raft all three forks of American, and upper Cherry River, but my aunt lives in Chatanooga, I have my own PFD and helmet, I will visit in spring and raft with you.
I'm looking for a particular rafting video where a guide hangs a sausage on a stick over swimming clients to direct them into the eddy, telling them to "swim to the sausage". Any help appreciated. Thanks.

You Ocoee raft guides flippin' rafts for tips? Lol. One Raft had all the people hunkered down and even the guide wasn't paddling. Fou d myself yelling Paddle Paddle Paddle!!
Hence it is wise to do one's homework and request a competent guide. However this is a relatively safe yet fun river. To learn more visit fastfreds.com/raft
Sometimes the spiderweb of ropes are a bit much. Training has been improving recently. Guides seem to be using ropes more effectively and safely this year from what I have observed. Guides should spread out and vector swimmers on ropes to shore rather than throwing all the ropes at once from the same point as observed in this video. Swift Water Rescue training is important. My outpost trains new guides the proper techniques.
Different strokes for different folks. Feel free to play your favorite music. Glad you like the video enough to watch with or without sound. Have a great day.

That is a crappy swim bro. I have been chundered by that swim before; and as you described, I also got the crap beat out of me
I have been binging lately. All of your videos are awesome. Love your excited yet monotone voice 😂😂💀
I was not aware until today that whitewater rafting was in need of color commentary. Now I will hear your voice every time I raft.
Ha ha, thanks... I appreciate your kind words. Just trying to spread some love.

Awesome footage! Maaajor props to the camera man! Very cool!

After the people fall out do they get in another raft or are are they done?
They generally get back into the same raft and continue.

How do they not sink with all the water in them?

Is this the upper or middle occoee

That first raft was guide and all that went out. He get destroyed by the rest of the guides. 😅😅😅
The opening sequence is rather funny. If you must swim the Olympic Course is safer.
why is there so many guides and other paddlers on the bank at that one spot?
Brandon Schoenfeld because this is where the action is. We also set safety here.
ahh ok! Not used to many people on the banks, where i've paddled its more animals than people
This place is dope it had the Olympics there one year and they man made really big rapids near the end of the river really great place to raft

Абсолютно не подготовленные экипажи. Коммерческие сплавы по сложным рекам это не правильно. Люди могут погибнуть. Особенно дети.
