Neevsy, your complaint about lack of grunt making the bike feel sterile around town is completely correct. I felt it on mine as well. To other SFV4 owners I suggest getting the Termignoni UpMap and installing the MTorque map for the stock exhaust. It really wakes the bike up in 3000 to 7000 rpm range in the lower gears. Even with the wheelie control on it will wheelie with just a weight shift or tug on the bars. Ducati limits the opening of the throttle bodies in gears 1-4. Also the exhaust valve closes between 4-7k rpm to limit noise affecting performance in that range as well. I’ve owned a few bonkers naked bikes (Streetfightered 91 GSX-R 750 with a 1340cc 180hp engine) and this really was the best mod if you’re looking for grunt in the midrange. Just sharing my only complaint and fix so far with the bike.
I did think about one but settled for a Monster 1200s instead. I just couldn’t see me using, wings, 14000 revs and 208 bhp on the road and all for an extra £5k. Definitely made the right choice with the Monster. Grunt everywhere, you don’t have to dance on the gears, it does over 50 mpg and the black on black colour scheme is great.

The bike isn’t sterile. Not in the sense of an S1000R for example. The lack of grunt is mostly due to the electronic torque limiting in gears 1 to 3. This does what it’s designed to do: make the bike go faster. This bike when said and done, is a Panigale V4 without a fairing. Would you say the Panigale V4 is sterile or weak? It’s power delivery designed for smooth speed, and less hooliganism. The tech on this bike is second to none and is designed to allow the rider to push the bike harder safely. With the Akra full system and up map this bike is an absolute beast, and still smooth enough to commute or ride around the city. Amazing bike, and I’ve been extremely happy with mine so far.

Love the post-it notes. It really make the video seem less BS and more facts. Great info. I'll just wait 3 years for the used prices to drop. The cruise control, Ducati please please please! I've been riding with someone that has one. It's like riding from one gas station to the next. This thing needs a bigger gas tank!
liked and subbed you just kinda popped up as ive just bought a 2021 streetfighter v4 s and yes loving the bike after 1 week its a beauty to ride yet to take on a long trip but so far seems comfortable after a 2h ride well betther than my last bike the monster 1000s that bike gave me cramps in my hips but the streetfighter no cramps so far :D
I suppose Ducati have the Monster if you want a torquey, naked street bike. I bought the Super Duke personally, because that donk really does it for me. You can be absolutely lazy, just leave it in third, and still make rapid progress. I think Aprilia also figured it out when they bumped the Tuono to 1078cc. Strange that Ducati chose to leave the Streetfighter so close to the Panigale in power delivery.
I wonder if the Euro version is any different (setup/tuning etc.) to the one I purchased a month ago here in the Middle East. Its bonkers even from low rpms. Exciting, loads of fun.
What I’d love is for Mr Neeves to do a video and article on his last ten long term test bikes and which ones he would have bought and why those not the others... please?
Very much enjoyed the review and good to see I'm not the only one who 'lives life by post-it note'. And while I've still got my own hips and knees (turned 60 this year) just heading out on my V4S Panigale 😁
An honest review. For less than half the price you can get a low mileage Monster R. My black 2016 plate with red bling looks like new, has 5K miles, 50mpg, 163bhp and more capability than youll ever need in every department. If you fancy a blast Mr Neaves let me know 😉 All day comfortable too.
You were going well on it around donnington and it was no slouch on the back straight , I was on a 2020v4 base with full termi system etc and I just about caught you on the straight after you’d overtaken me a few corners before haha I thought ffs he’s done me on a streetfighter with road tyres and I had slicks on 🤦♂️so I took a man up pull and got a wriggle on after that lol
Really enjoyed comparing notes with you as I've the standard version, I'm thrilled by exciting engine & slick handling 😁thank you for interesting review.
I disagree with you on that. While Ducati makes great looking bikes, not all of them are, and not everything from Italy is nice to look at either, take the face of an Aprilia. Japan builds plenty of gorgeous machinery, take any Nissan Skyline, Mk IV Supra, and for damn sure the 2009-2014 Yamaha R1.
Nice bike and good review. And know what you mean I’m still stuck on the older vtwin ducatis. More soul and feel. They all care to much about power and fastest lap times these days and forget the fun factor. Great video
Isn’t it nice when you get a response lol Three years later and he still didn’t answer your question. I would think that slushiness would be good around town. You don’t want it jerky.
A lot of Ducati shoppers, whether new or existing owners, don't do a lot of cross-shopping between brands; if they desire a Ducati , nothing else is going to do; it is the aspirational aspect of Ducati ownership. So I think this moves them outside the realm of competing with other makes, and instead competing against other models within their own range. So that leads to my question, what about this bike versus a Monster 1200R? Would that comparison be more realistic for potential owners? (as a long time Ducati owner, when I am shopping, I am either looking for a new bike, or looking for a new Ducati.)
Swings and roundabouts, too sterile or too mental ,depends on which side of the fence you sit on .,praise or complaint . Most buyers will be over 40 with cash to spend ,wanting a comfy good looking easy to ride bike . Nice review

MCN are the bes tin bike tests and info about bike good and bad :)
It was between this bike and the 1100 factory am glad I went for the factory I got it with the can and aprilia map and few other bits for 15k bran new
Nice one Neevesy
Shame no cruise no deal for me tbh I loved that option on the tuono1100. Made Europe toll roads easy
Excellent. Proper biker assessment.
That is a great sound effect at 6:18.
Well done!! Review was very informative!
liked and subbed you just kinda popped up as ive just bought a 2021 streetfighter v4 s and yes loving the bike after 1 week its a beauty to ride yet to take on a long trip but so far seems comfortable after a 2h ride well betther than my last bike the monster 1000s that bike gave me cramps in my hips but the streetfighter no cramps so far :D
Always look forward to your content Mr. Neeves, hope too see more long tour videos from you in the future.
Same here. Does not feel sterile to me
What I’d love is for Mr Neeves to do a video and article on his last ten long term test bikes and which ones he would have bought and why those not the others... please?
Those tires have been properly scrubbed in. Good job!!!!!
Very nice overview in previous vids too keep it up
Excellent way to review the ownership experience 👍
All you need is a tune to let the throttle do what it's supposed to do in the lower gears. There's your fun and wheelies
If you fancy a blast Mr Neaves let me know 😉
All day comfortable too.
But the pleasure with the 2020 Superduke is triple than your Monster.
I just got here but I'm gonna go ahead and hit the like now.
To the nice comments I'd like to ask if the seat becomes too hot? Thanks for your refreshing presentation.
appreciated reviews, hope all is well
When u say actual 186bhp I assume that's at the wheel so about 205bhp at the crank?
You were going well on it around donnington and it was no slouch on the back straight , I was on a 2020v4 base with full termi system etc and I just about caught you on the straight after you’d overtaken me a few corners before haha I thought ffs he’s done me on a streetfighter with road tyres and I had slicks on 🤦♂️so I took a man up pull and got a wriggle on after that lol
Appreciate your honesty Neevsy
the postit notes is a fabulous idea
Great review
Nobody: How old are you?
Me: 10:52
😭
Brilliant 👏🏼
I'm that old too
Great format. Like ratio confirms it!
Great review from Neevsey.Would expect nothing else.My rich workmate owns one.I await his agree/disagree pink notes with Micheal.
Enjoyed the post-it note review. 👍🇦🇺🍺
Really enjoyed comparing notes with you as I've the standard version, I'm thrilled by exciting engine & slick handling 😁thank you for interesting review.
Ducati makes the prettiest bikes, that for sure. If only Japan made pretty bikes.
@@RyanMcIntyre Lmaoooooo
@@RyanMcIntyre Maybe Japan USED to make pretty stuff.
@ComeonMan!!! The headlight/front section is a challenge to look at. But so is the Ninja 1000SX.
japan is too busy making reliable machine.....you choose
Nice bike and good review. And know what you mean I’m still stuck on the older vtwin ducatis. More soul and feel. They all care to much about power and fastest lap times these days and forget the fun factor. Great video
3:02 so isnt the street mode part of the cause of the "sluggish" around town and isnt that a good thing?
Isn’t it nice when you get a response lol
Three years later and he still didn’t answer your question.
I would think that slushiness would be good around town.
You don’t want it jerky.
I was going to get one , thank goodness I watched this review first.
I'll keep my superduke for the best naked experience.
How is the heating, compared to Panigale or Multistrada?
A lot of Ducati shoppers, whether new or existing owners, don't do a lot of cross-shopping between brands; if they desire a Ducati , nothing else is going to do; it is the aspirational aspect of Ducati ownership. So I think this moves them outside the realm of competing with other makes, and instead competing against other models within their own range. So that leads to my question, what about this bike versus a Monster 1200R? Would that comparison be more realistic for potential owners? (as a long time Ducati owner, when I am shopping, I am either looking for a new bike, or looking for a new Ducati.)
Neevesy is ORIGINAL. A legend.
Swings and roundabouts, too sterile or too mental ,depends on which side of the fence you sit on .,praise or complaint . Most buyers will be over 40 with cash to spend ,wanting a comfy good looking easy to ride bike . Nice review
