Aprilia struck gold when they launched the Tuono and 10 years on still bossin it 🔥

First Tuono was a v twin "R" model launched in 2002 i think.
Aprilia make great bikes, but here in Australia when something goes wrong it will take months to find parts & someone competant to work on them. Dealer support network is rubbish. After having a NEW, 750 Shiver which i loved. Started getting cold weather starting probs after it was 10k km serviced by dealer. No one could fix. Traded it for MT10. I dont need 160hp. But i do need a bike i can track, tour and commute on. Plus feel reassured their are plenty of techs out their with Yamaha experience. Plus dealer support is great.

Owned the zh2 and tuono factory for 6 months now and both absolutely epic bikes. Tuono v4 is addictive and the handling is best in the business. Sounds are as u know pure intoxicating for any petrol head. Its a well proven bike with many years of improvements behind it. Zh2 is the ultimate road bike. Blows the tuono away for all out speed and acceleration and at times makes the tuono feel a little boring as its missing that supercharger howl. Its very comfy and will do 55mpg on the motorway. Iv either owned all the above bikes or ridden them and owned many other supers. I feel I have the best 2 bikes iv ever owned. Keepers.

Had my mind to buy Tuono, but just for city blasting and that instantaneous torque I just purchased the 2020 1290 R this past Monday, it's Canada day so I'll have to wait this Friday pick her up. Tuono is such a perfect sweet spot for a super naked! Don't think you really need any more power on the street and that engine and how it delivers power! Plus the best chasis too! The best all round package! Just hope aprilla updates the bike with led headlights and a fuel gauge!

I rarely get over 4th gear on my tuono most of the time unless i'm on straight freeway lol. Dunno why you need more power than the tuono on the street. Plus it has wind protection a d quite aggressive for the track too

      @banestock 4 года назад +1

Lenso Prezole that's true..I honestly feel the middle weight nakeds like the 890 duke r and the street triple rs are just as good on the street, but there's something about the characteristics of the engine and chasis of the aprilla that just feels so good! Plus who doesn't want more power! Though that only makes sense up to a point..instead of adding more power to street bikes manufacturers should improve usability, handling and ride quality.

Thank you for the breakdown on the bikes, as usual, it's all very helpful. It helps myself and i'm sure others, to know the comfort level of the review bikes giving the approximate hight of the rider, etc. since motorcycle shows are a dismal reflection of what they once were and buying a new bike is easier when you have a little recon going for you rather than driving all over the place to sit on and hope the dealerships have a model for test rides. Have you heard the H2 in real life? Granted I'm a bit of a screamer fan, but that weird, high pitched tweeting chirp, almost above normal hearing range but loud enough to still be clearly audible, is completely out of this world, and not like anything else. Videos don't convey how enveloping and vertigo'ish it sounds. As if it comes from all around and inside your head at the same time. Played over a massive sound system with crystal clear highs in a pumping Ibiza club, it could be worked into a signature sonic of the hit of summer, if pumping clubs was still a thing in the virus age. Perhaps Kanye will get one to race around on and sample, now that he's holed up in lightly policed, wide open Wyoming...

Great review as always. I agree re the MT10. It would benefit from a facelift :) Also, I miss seeing the s1000r especially since it brought so much to the competition regarding cruise, rider modes, electronic suspension, power, and all around usability.

Very good comparison. I’ve already got my mind set on the new Tuono, which I imagine is even better than the current version, but this made me even more set on getting one. Thank you.

Well...that does it. I'm getting another Aprilia 🤣 the Ducati is super cool...actually kind of surprised it took 3rd place. Who'd love to see a track time comparison of the KTM, Duc, and Aprilia somewhere like Jerez?

I have a feeling that doing a 'real' shootout (same day, multiple riders) purely at the track, the Tuono will still be on top but with a bigger margin compared to the Duc and Duke; the Duke is an apex predator street bike that is fun at the track... the Tuono is and always has been a race bike with some minor adjustments to work well on the street

Agree with your ranking. I own a 2018 Super Duke 1290r. Agree with your statement using grunt and midrange around town probably all below 8000 rpm. Tired of the horsepower wars where 250 horsepower at 15,900 rpm. Unless it is a track bike, why. I almost bought the Streetfighter to keep my KTM company but instead went with a 2019 MV Agusta Dragster 800rr Pirelli Edition. Beauty and the beast 2.0. Thx for the great video!

Would be my positions too. Close joint 2nd between the SF & SDR. My Tuono might be needing a refresh and face lift but I still firmly believe its the best naked road bike right now

Ryanhwelton I love the tuono too but I’m not fully sold on its front end looks. It’s like the RSV4 but they forgot to put on the side fairings. Maybe it’s just me.

@@srivatsanadiger you need to look at the looks from a wind protection point of view as well, which is the main purpose of why it looks the way it looks. Incredible machine from a form and function point of view!

Yes, this is a great observation. The 2020 model comes with much more carbon fiber than the Ducati and KTM, the color scheme is amazing as well. Aprilia is just an incredible motorcycle company, in a league of its own!

I bought the very 1st motorbike with wings for sale, an Aprilia RSV4 RF LE from 2018.
I'm a 57 year old man who rode last year on his 1st track. This year intermediate for me.

I thought that was a really honest and great review, I’ve got the MT10 SP and I absolutely love it, and the looks of it as well. I have no intention of buying anything else, perhaps I might get the new MT10 if and when it comes out . For sure the Ducati looks much better built but for 20k it needs to be . I think if the Aprilia has an update to the lights and went led , it would be even better.

Tuono wins again...not surprised. I was finally convinced last year and bought one. It's everything everyone says and more. It keeps winning these comparisons year after year and has to start being considered as one of the best all around bikes ever built...

Finally understand what everyone was on about... I bought one just recently and man.... What bike.. Sublime!
I rode a 1199 s pani before this bike... Way to serious for the Rd. The only thing I should have done was made the decision earlier 👍

If Aprilia updated the looks from the rs660, it would definitely win by a mile. But ducati has latest updates and looks.
I'd still choose my Tuono over the ducati sound any day

@@_rubberbandit3697 yep, new V4 with 660-style... and maybe (being careful here) built-in winglets like the new Brutale; I don't really fancy the glued-on looking plastic bi-plane winglets of the SFV4 or even Panigale; the winglets on the RSV4 don't appeal to me either, they seem a bit 'square' compared to the flowing lines of the rest of the bike, if that makes sense
