In my supreme laziness I keep a box of Curad Alcohol Prep Pads on my makeup desk. They're only 70% strength, but they do a good job quickly, especially handy for when I want to use the same brush with different colors, and I figure if they're good enough for hospital/clinical use, they're good enough for me. Now you've gotten me thinking of adding some pure aloe gel to my bottle of 99% isopropal and giving your method a go. I ❤your sharing✨
Haha, if it works it works! Very handy on the go for sure, Janet. Good idea on thinking about adding aloe to the 99% IPA, let me know how it works out. I’m intrigued!
I’ve maintained my makeup brushes by washing them after maybe two uses. I had acne prone skin in my teens and even now in my 50’s I still occasionally have a breakout so it’s important to keep my brushes clean. I’ve always used a mild shampoo or liquid face wash with warm water, give a good squeeze to rinse out excess water and then let them air dry. I will admit one if my makeup brushes is probably about 35 years old and still looks and works great!
Oh this is a game changer. The thing that really keeps me from washing my brushes is honestly the drying time 😂 and all the space they take up while they dry as well 😮💨
Glad to have helped!!
I use my brushes 2-3 times and set them aside. Then I wash them with dawn dish soap and the original sigma mitt. I might be a little old school. I do also put them in the autoclave for up to 30 minutes to sterilize them. I definitely want to try this product. I appreciate the speed of the dry time. It would make a great addition to my personal and freelance kits.
Always love new ideas for cleaning my makeup tools. Thx Shon.

I have this cleaner but on light natural hair if you use cream products or makeup that has done oil. It doesn’t clean it all off. I’ve had to wash them with soap to get it all out completely. Parian spirts cleaner is a bit Oiler and gets the makeup all off but I’m not sure if they are ok for the skin. You know when you clean the brush and then you go to put the bus on the client because it has a very strong orange scent smell just wondering what your thoughts are on those brush cleaners if you’ve tried them.
Ooh being honest, I don't clean them as often as I should but to be fair, I don't use a lot of brushes as I don't wear much makeup. I did wonder what the smell of this cleaner was like 🤔 hopefully nice and not like a chemical smell 🥰
❤❤❤
70% alcohol works too? I have an entire bottle of that one jajajjaa
is this the same as cinema secrets?
Back when I did my makeup I would wash my brushes before (a few days before) and after (right after if I had time) every use.
But now my scarring is getting CRAZY so I don't do my makeup anymore. It's been years.
