As Christian mama and wife that is struggling to break the generational curse of yelling, you have no idea how much I appreciate these talks! It breaks my heart when I slip up and lose my temper. It's something I'm praying daily about, that God will remove the hatefulness from my heart and replace it with love and softness. I want to be an example for my children.

What I find particularly inspiring about this channel is the MINDFUL and DELIBERATE nature of the cooking, cleaning, arranging things while the voice over is being done. There are no extraneous or wasted movements/actions. This really adds something wonderful to what is being said.

I'm not a mother yet, but I'm a nanny and have been for a few years now. I work predominantly with toddlers. My advice is to not give up on your children. Many parents that I have seen give up on expecting good behavior from their children. If your child wants candy and you don't have the patience to endure the tantrum that they will inevitably throw and just give them the candy, you are giving up on your child because you don't believe that your child has the capacity to behave well. Children are incredibly capable and are so much smarter than we think and if you give up on then in this way, they can sense it. Hang in there. Help them to give a name to their big feelings and give them coping mechanisms like taking deep breaths and calming their muscles. It is so worth it. Not only will you have a child who knows that they cannot get everything that they want and won't throw a fit to get it, you also will have a child who knows how to emotionally regulate and think rationally. They may be at school or at a friend's house and there will be things there that they want too, but if they know how to deny themselves and take up that cross they will be so much more equipped for life. They will be able to say no to the alcohol, no to the drugs, no to cheating on their spouse, no to gluttony, etc. It all starts here. Don't give up on yourself and don't give up on them. Also, if you choose to just give in every time, what are you going to do when they want a new gaming system in their teens? When they want a new car in their 20s? When they refuse to move out in their 30s? Parenting is the long game.

The bonus of confessing sin and asking forgiveness was my favorite part. "Do not let your pride be the destroyer of your relationships" was beautiful and brought me to tears. Thank you.
I watch this a an older mom who looking back is filled with two things 1) regret and 2) gratitude. My adult children are wonderful people. And the glory must go to God. I raised them often in my emotions. I yelled a lot. My chastisements often were radical and lasted years. For an example removing a game from them for two years for breaking a rule concerning the game rules I had in place. I behaved often as if everything I did for them made me miserable. Because I wasn't allowed to be a house wife and worked outside the home over 40 hours a week my children had a stressed mom who did a lousy job managing it. Being the first Christian in my family I did pray. I prayed all the time for the character and salvation of my children and I pleaded with God to fix me. God honored my prayers and my children are adults now with a healthy and godly mom. God, despite my bad state, gave all my kids godly character. Though they all read the Bible and attend church on their own I hope they are truly saved and regenerated and not just religious. I share your videos with my daughter and daughter in laws as well as other women. Perhaps they will have a better legacy from the start.
Amen, thank you for your words. God can use This forum to speak to others too. I have 4 young children all a year & a half apart. The part you said with “I behaved often as if everything I did for them made me miserable” really hit me in my soul. I’ve been Wrestling with God like Jacob about my character mainly towards my children I go in & out of this fun playful loving mom to this frazzled hott mess that is being crushed in responsibility then I sit and condemn myself for my actions (conviction is from God- Condemnation is not.) until God reminds me of proverbs 24:16 - it’s always a choice. When I believe I’m forgiven & it is Gods Spirit that does all things good for me & my children a supernatural strength gets me through yet another pit of despair that I may allow God to draw me closer. Glory to God for your Children. I believe by Faith my children will be saved. God is stronger 🙏❤️

Hopefully you can genuinely apologize to them face to face or over the phone even if they don't say anything it means alot I wish my mother would do this we have a good relationship now but it feels as though she is just trying to bury her past behavior.
@@daughterofjesuschristbelov2760 Oh I have. We are all very close. I am very transparent and asked for forgiveness. God made me different and I am this new mom with them. I'm present and healthy. God has removed a lot of my selfishness. I have always been honest which would include humbling myself, confessing my sins, selfishness, misguided decisions that hurt them. In fact everytime I think of something from the past I reach out and let them know what was on my mind and I'm sorry. I also invite them to talk to me about how I hurt them. That I won't like it, it won't feel good and I can't even promise I will remember but I will acknowledge their hurt and my actions and given the opportunity, I will be better. I hope your mom will repent and confess and get to a humble and healthy place so that your relationship can heal and grow complete. We aren't healed completely but I pray God heals and restores what they lost and I pray I am able to be whoever that is to help them recover and be whole in Christ. God bless you.
I'll never forget the first time I heard my mother say "I brought you in this world, I can take you out". I had realized in that moment that my mother could kill me and "they" would let/allow her to do so. Everyone in my family knew about the death of my oldest brother, a victim of an alleged assault by my mother, so it was very believable to my younger self that I would possibly experience the same thing if I didn't stay in line. It was traumatic and shaped my relationship with her till the very day she transitioned.
As a mother I understood that just because I could, didn't mean I should when raising my children. The "because I said so" slogan of parenting I never subscribed to. But I will say emotionally I struggled to bind that spirit that was rampant in my experience growing up with regular fasting and prayer. God forgive us.

Bindi thank you soooooo much for your content. So eloquent so aligned with scripture. As a married woman with two babies you have no idea how much your words have helped me out. Now with that being said, I have opened up my Bible (finally) Spend time with the Lord on the secret place every morning ever since! You see, he is my energy my strength to keep going, to thrive in my home, to become better for me, my hubbie, my babies, and my home. I thank the Lord for you! ❤
My Granny taught me all I knew about Jesus. I consider her my true mother. After her passing, my birth mother took over and she and her sisters gaslit and abused me. Nowadays, as a future mama myself, I’ve chosen to serve God based on what Granny taught me and showed me and as an act of love I’ve chosen to distance myself from my mama and aunts because it is unhealthy. That is how I honor the Lord and Granny’s legacy.
I am a mother of a 5 yr old little girl. Thank you for this insight. I'm am trying to raise her in a biblical way and unlearn the unhealthy, toxic way of speaking to me child that I learned from my family. It's hard doing it by myself without help. Good designed the nuclear family so perfectly. I pay attention to other families at church and the mother might tell the kids to do something and they might resist a bit but as soon as the father intervenes, the kids do what they are told out of reverence. I think it's the authority in the father's tone of voice.
I have found that in my parenting, I tend to use the same language that I have learned from my family. I often resort to yelling and threats of "beating" her but then I reflect on these things and feel so ashamed. God is slowly teaching me how to be a better, more godly mother while I still pray for a husband for me and a father figure for me child.

This is so incredibly inspiring. I have 3 young boys and lately I’ve been living in such fear over how to raise them in the Lord. I did not grow up in a Christian home and feel very lost. Your videos have provided such wisdom and comfort to me. Thank you ❤
I’m not a wife or a mother yet, but Lord I will be someday. I am a teacher, and some of these concepts can be applied to how I converse with my students. I am stewarding their well-being and education for 9 months and it’s difficult sometimes. I have so many opportunities to set a godly example of womanhood and charity to my students. They are so young and my attitude sets the tone of our day. How I treat my students can help prepare me for how I will someday honor and love my own children. Thanks for this.

Thanks for talking about motherhood. We often have a vision for our children but it's so important to submit our plans before the Lord & ask our kids (if they are old enough) their thoughts. It's also key to evaluate if we are discerning God's voice or comparing ourselves to other moms and influencers in social media. Keep the videos coming! ♥
I think one thing we can do is present ourselves in beauty for our children. You have talked before about doing this for your husband and I absolutely think that is necessary, but I think it is important for our children too. Otherwise, there is the underlying message of "I don't value your opinion of me" or "you are too much work but not worth the effort". Of course, we will have days we don't feel well and that messy bun and sweats are the way to go, but on just a normal day, make an effort to present classiness and beauty in your appearance for your children

Lol, watching how pretty and productive Bindi was while cleaning had me dragging my butt from a very comfortable couch and into the kitchen to take care of my dishes. Your video footage managed to transform a detested chore I've been avoiding into a noble display of duty that I actually wanted to partake in. I don't know why that is, but my kitchen thanks you.

Apologizing to my kids when I fail them as a mother is one of the most important things I have done, in my opinion. My husband was raised by a physically abusive father & an emotionally neglectful mother. She told him to his face; "If you are waiting around for an apology, forget it. You will be waiting a long time, because I am not going to give you one." His father told him (when my husband tried to have a heart to heart with him)" I don't really care to fix this relationship. I'm too old to change." these attitudes eventually led my husband to cut his family out of our lives altogether. So much so, that he did not even attend his father's funeral & hasn't talked to his mother in 12 years, even tho she lives 5 houses away. I can see the hurt & damage that this has caused my husband. I know I am not a perfect mother, so the best thing I can do is apologize & give my child the power to forgive me, or not.

No problem doing any of that and I've seen much fruit! But I've been feeling like I'm drowning trying to be a kind and loving mother while also setting boundaries for my kids. Thank you for speaking the truth in love. So much of our current culture justifies our disrespect toward our children and I’ve been very guilty of having double standards with my children. This video drove me to my knees in confession and when my children wake tomorrow, I will be asking their forgiveness. Thank you for showing the daily work and habits of managing a home while speaking the truth we need to hear among the often mundane tasks.
I think current culture justifies disrespect to everyone… yourself, your husband, parents, co-workers… really everyone you encounter and children always are caught in the consequences of sin. I’m guilty, too. Being so unaware also… I’m thankful for truth and how God reaches us through his faithful children.

I really like the list you came up with, Bindi. I would personally add that teaching our children about responsibility and their role in the family, more than just existing and taking up space, is really important from a young age. Teaching the toddler how to clean up after themselves, teaching the older children how to help with certain chores that are appropriate for their age. I don't think that part can be understated as to how important it is. Additionally, I would say it is a kindness to your children to discipline them and to be consistent. "Spare the rod, spoil the child." Not a popular sentiment in this day and age but scripture never lies. As mothers, we can be both loving and firm. We can learn how to not be yelly and coarse and easily shaken, while still upholding important boundaries, rules, etc., of the home and teaching our children how to obey us. The 4th commandment is incredibly important, and our children need to learn it's importance from day one. You can't discipline a baby, but you sure can teach them about boundaries and how to exist well in the family. Parents needn't be afraid to place these rules and then when they're broken, discipline, upon their children. It's one of the greatest kindnesses we can bestow upon them.

Girl, I just make 'em. I don't give the salads names. They may be called "whatever we got in the 'frigerator" salad. 🤭But I do love spinach, red, and green leaf lettuce. Napa cabbage is good for Asian-inspired salads. I love a good crunch and a myriad of textures. Thanks for the post. I realize that as a teacher in a low-income area, I am seen as the first point of contact for Christ. After watching this, I am absolutely convicted about how I have went about teaching. Bindi, this was well done. I have 5 daughters and they are 6 and under, essentially if I could sum up your well done video, intentional parenting is what it boils down to. Giving and showing your children the best version of yourself and modeling your expectations of them all while handling with care the lives given to you to steward by God. A lot for me to consider. Three books that I have read this past year that has really helped me… Giving your words by Sally Clarkson, Love is a choice by Robert Hemfelt, and The blessing by John Trent. I also was raised in a household that was disrespectful and a lot of yelling and used fear/manipulation to get us kids to obey. I have had to unlearn things and re-learn new ways of doing things… Godly ways of doing child rearing. I have a 19-year-old who has moved out and he’s doing very well on his own! A 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy still at home. The more you read, the more you learn, the more you know! And then you’re able to do better🥰

It’s funny a few days ago when you uploaded this video I saw it on my feed, but I was having a rough day and I said NO. Not right now. I wasn’t ready to hear it. A few days later, having an internal struggle at home alone with my kids even knowing the desires of the Lord I already have in my heart for my children, for my family and I came back, to watch this video. Thank you so much, everything you say, I take it and dwell on it and I feel blessed. I never had anyone in my life speak and teach me the things you talk about in your videos but now being a mom and homemaker it is the most important thing to me I wish I had learned all of this years ago, what you share is so so important for all mothers, truly, Thank you. Kale salad with homemade croutons sliced cherry tomatoes - massage on kale a little lemon juice, small dollop of mayonnaise, salt garlic powder to taste, later sprinkle in a little bit of Parmesan cheese or nutritional flakes for added creaminess 👌
18 year old here lol... can definitely attest to your first point. My parents had a set plan for me to go to a specific Christian college, and gave me just a few degrees/jobs i could do. I wasnt given room for the Lord's leading. It made the last two years of high school very, very hard, and i felt like i didnt have control/couldn't give the Lord control over my life because I had to obey and submit to them.

I’m wondering - how do you find that you are able to identify these things and come to such deep and meaningful conclusions? Is it simply from reading the Bible? From books? Friends? Or maybe a bit of all of the above. Looking for tools on how I can do this to more areas in my own life. ❤
Thank you for watching and I’m really happy to know you found it helpful. That vast majority of what you see in my videos comes from time with the Lord first and foremost in reading the Bible, prayer, and once weekly fasting (and praying). After this there are many hardships I’ve gone through in my own personal relationships and hardship I have observed in extended family and the Lord often times (after the fact) will explain why I went through it and gives me lessons to takeaway from it. I’d recommend reading the Word, and praying whatever you have read over yourself, and asking for wisdom… and then wait. He will give it to you.

I needed this video today I’m not a mother but I watch my 2 yr old nephew and 11 month old niece. I’ve been very irritable and short today but I will give it back to the Lord.
I just found your channel yesterday, and I absolutely love your videos!! This is so good and very much needed! I would also like to add that when your child messes up let them know that they can come to you without you being harsh and critical, and judge mental of them. That was something my mother always did for me and I have great respect for her today because of it I have friends whose mothers and fathers would beat them over the head with whatever they did wrong and the child learned to hide bad behavior, rather than changing it. Our children should know that we always are in their corner, even when they mess up. Not in an enabling way. But in a loving way.
Mothering doesn’t end at adulthood, be kind to your adult children. This is difficult in the Haitian (Caribbean) culture, but God isn’t moved by our homeland traditions.

This is so amazing to hear as someone who isn't a mother but knows the season is close. Thank you. Also, may I add that I love the modesty of her home. Very minimilist. No fancy decor. Yet very beautiful with simple memory worthy accents. It's so refreshing in a world that honors maximilism and the idea that you must spend millions of dollars on decoration in your home.

This is such wonderful advice because it comes from principle found in the Word of God. I grew up in “black culture” and those phrases you mentioned at the beginning of your video were joked about often growing up.
But the Lord showed me a better way over time and it’s all the things you’ve stated in this video. By the grace and power of God and my submission to Him, both of my daughters and both of my sons are being raised intentionally to love and serve Jesus, and love and serve people.
