I deeply appreciate that our audience is one of mixed faiths, denominations, and creeds. I do however have to make clear that I do not observe Catholocism nor do I embrace its teachings where it clearly diverges from Christianity. The Catholic requirement for men in ministry to abstain from marriage is not a teaching I read in The Bible and therefore is not a restriction I agree with. The Bible I read speaks of a beautiful balance of marriage, family, and service in ministry and it is my prayer that all the men ( and their families) who belong to the Lord and serve Him by shepherding His flock would find the wisdom to strike the balance we, as Christians, believe is possible.
1 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. 2Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife,b sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?
    *1 Timothy 3 ESV*

That’s exactly what happened in my family. Since age 7 I had to raise myself and my 3 years old brother alone. My both parents worked, especially my mom, when she arrived at home she was exhausted and never gave us attention. Besides that she was also in church and involved in children’s ministry, and I started to grow resentful to God , because I felt He was taking the little attention from my mother from me. I even became an atheist later on, but now I came back to Christianity thanks God. And another family helped me back in the faith, a family who had a provider father, a stay at home mom and a peaceful and welcoming home with healthy children. Then I saw what it means to have God as the base of a family.

I’m a pastor’s child. WOW, that really hit home. 😅 it’s so true…I did feel like the church took my father’s attention and resented it. Luckily, I was included in a lot of his activities and he took me with him a lot.
It also breaks my heart to think that kids come home to an empty house. I am so thankful I can stay home with my baby and can put my career as a nurse on hold.

The part where you talked about the child(ren) coming home to an empty house is very important. I still have permanent damage psychologically due to this being the case for me as a pre teen and young teenager. I was the care taker for my younger sister while my parents were working or gone doing things they wanted to do from the time I was 10. Please don't do this to your children. Let them know how much you love them and be there for them if at all possible ❤ Time spent actually engaging with and caring for your children literally matters more to them than anything else in the entire world, no joke! (Even when they are adults) Even if they don't realize it now they will later feel the effects of it (or lack thereof)

True enough..... but as we grow...... and learn the dynamics of the world that I think we're mostly oblivious to as children...... we need to learn to put ourselves in our parents' shoes. Remember THEY TOO probably were victims THEMSELVES to some degree, of familial disfunction that manifested itself in how they parented to you. And also your grandparents... And so on.
Give them grace. Acknowkledge what needs to change and let it begin with you. But, I've had to learn to RESIST looking backwards with judgement on my parents. A lot of the disfunction I experienced through them..... was a manifestation of how my grandparents raised them. And, the events of the day affected them also, war, depression, joblessness, national civil unrest, etc. For example.....World Wars..... entered into by the decision of a handful of men, strips a nation of its men to go fight, plops the weight of carrying the family And the country at home onto the shoulders of women, FOREVER changing the dynamic of the family and affecting every single generation born thereafter. Let's have some grace. Many men came home from war mentally or physically broken....or not at all. These events and others have disrupted the family ever since. And when we look at certain generational groups....a lot of what they experienced was a direct result of what the generation before them experienced. Some Experiences that happened through no fault of their own
      ❤❤❤

@markita.hardenhome I agree with you. I did not disgracefully put my parents down. I was being honest to try and help the parents of now understand things that parents in the past just couldn't :) But I totally agree with you and have realized a lot of things like what you mentioned the past couple years. I didn't say I was holding a grudge in any way. I am still putting effort into having a relationship with them even now after all the hurt as a child and teen and adult. Thanks for your perspective 🥰 God bless you! (And you are correct, my parents were treated badly by their parents as well, and I am very thankful my parents were not physically abusive to me like they experienced. My moms mother didn't even tell her she loved her, so again I am thankful I didn't experience this as well)

@@peaceofjunkjournals I hear ya. I have so many thoughts.....cause even listening to Bindi here..... her views are seen through a very AMERICANIZED lens. American "norms". It's normal in Asian countries for small children to walk miles alone to elementary school. Even to catch the metro to school by themselves and the fact that Americans "coddle" their children in their view, is why the youth are so incompetent, irresponsible, self- destructive and self- consumed. Asian Children come home to an empty house, start homework, can make trips to the store and do many tasks that we would never let our children do in America. And we have to be careful that we're not infusing AMERICAN norms into the Bible and teaching them as biblical standard.
We have to be mindful that we live in a country of GREAT privilege. And many Christian families in other parts of the world won't ever be able to not have two parents working. Some children work and will never go to school. And they walk miles to go work. Some women work with babies strapped to their backs because they can't afford to not do so.
I'm cringing a bit because I hear American norms being spouted off here and treated as "God's design". This Americanized view of the family dynamic is not a realistic one in many parts of the world.

@markita.hardenhome That is true. There are definitely many different ways of life and different upbringing styles all over the world. I have seen many many creators and people online who were raised in the ways you mentioned there and they do have a lot of emotional damage and many many problems from it. Yes it isn't possible to be perfect of course but that doesn't negate the problems that stem from some of these ways in all cultures and countries.

Yup. I was a preacher's kid when I was little and agree with what you said. There's a lot of pressure to be 'godly' as a PK -- Both from the congregation and often from the parents. It's interesting reflecting on the effect this had on my faith now as an adult woman -- One thing I would strongly encourage to ANY Christian parent is to be very careful how you approach religion with your kids. In my family there was so much pressure to appear to be the perfect Christian family with 'children who love the Lord'. If it's really genuine and coming FROM your children, that's good. Obviously we would all want that, but in my experience it's often more about the parent wishing to appear to have a godly family to the congregation, or even to prove to themselves that they were 'great Christian parents and raising their kids in God', rather than this being a personal relationship between your kid and God. I see parents who 'align themselves with God' to the point where if a kid questions something the parents said or did, they will reply 'This is what God wants us to do'. Alright. If there's a Bible verse and you're approaching this in humility, that's good, but be careful about using God as a tool to dodge accountability with your kids. How can they disagree with you if you say you're doing what God wants? What does that make them if they disagree with you? Sinners. It means that if they do something you don't like, if you're this amazing Christian who does everything God wants, they're automatically going against God and suffering NOT JUST THE DISAPPROVAL OF THEIR PARENTS, but the crushing guilt of going against God. Think about it: If my parent is perfect and godly, every time they're not happy with me, God isn't either. This also makes the kid assume that their parent(s) is closer to God than they are or ever can be, and that God values their parent MORE THAN HE VALUES THEM.
You have to respect that children are people who have a unique relationship with their Lord and Creator, most of which will have nothing to do with you. You can show them the path, but it's their decision if they want to walk it or not. Not everyone gets saved when they are kids. Many people NEVER come to know their Lord. I know you love your children, and it can be hard to let go of control in this area because (if you're a real believer, you know that) the stakes are higher than anything else in life, and it's bigger than anything else they will ever do on earth, but God gave each of us free will and the freedom to choose whether or not we will come to Him. Don't try to step into His place and force it, or use them as a tool to prove what an amazing Christian you are. This will only drive them away from the Truth. I've seen it happen so many times with kids, both in the congregation and especially within the families of pastors. Remember that Christ said there is neither young nor old in the Kingdom Of Heaven. It's hard to think of it this way, but children can spiritually be our equals. You will see many children who are Christians have stronger faith than secular people who are in their 90's. Be respectful. Try and keep your humility and remember to make clear distinctions between who YOU are as a parent and who God is -- That separation is so important. ❤
(Sorry about the yelling -- If there was an italics option I would use it. 😂 Also want to add the disclaimer that I don't have kids -- So you should probably pray about it before you take my advice!)

So glad for this book recommendation! As a pastor’s wife of a small church I can certainly see how the ministry can take a place that God did not intend - thank God for His word as a guide on how to prioritize your life. We are grateful that our Pastor was a good example of prioritizing his family and wife and preached about it. Also privileged to be in a fellowship of churches that hosts multiple marriage retreats (free) where these things are taught on. Additionally, grateful that the environment we are in doesn’t elevate the role but there is respect. I clean the toilet and so does my hubby and kids. If you stick close to the scriptures, pray and seek God, you’ll be able to order your life as intended. Scripture is be mediated on and transform you, not give you ideas on how justifying breaking another commandment. (That Pastor is fool - sorry ….just foolishness) Great video as usual! I’m have the book and I’m in the book club 😊

It is unbiblical for a church to be controlled and cared for by just one man. We're doing it all wrong. There should be way more people helping than just the pastor. Read Timothy.

Such wisdom you have, I thank God for you! Coming from a PK, I felt this in my spirit. This is sad. Our dad was a pastor and neglected the home. Our mom worked a lot and prob didn't have to. Thank God my heart wasn't and isn't hardened towards God but it could've went left! I now am married to a man who I believe is heading into ministry eventually.. but we learned some HARD lessons in our 9 years of marriage. I def said I Will NOT marry someone in ministry but sometimes God allows u to be in those situations to CHOOSE to make different choices than our parents in ministry before us. Many children are alone, being raised without a mother or father in their homes when they arrive from school. They learn to adapt and deal with things by themselves. That was me which caused me to have a baby at 17(she's now a college student).. thanks to God! But a child being a latch key kid leads to idle time, molestation, a child dealing with bullying alone etc.(my story).
I praise God that this is not my children's story despite our families disagreeing with me staying home. Literally bullying into working or shaming into doing what they saw was best. Thankfully my husband and I sought the Lord and He alone is the ruler of our home! 1 income, not a lot of $ left to travel etc. but the sacrifice is well worth the emotional, mental and physical health and hearts of my children! Some people will not ever get it and it's not our job to convince ppl of what God wants for our home. It can cause resentment. I had to give them over to Christ.
I too lately have been feeling the need to stay home even after my 3 year old goes to school. It just hasn't been done before in our families so it's unfamiliar territory. I pray the men and women of God seek Him and not the approval of man. No matter who that is, you will not stand before them at judgement, but God. Be encouraged believers, we are in trying times but the Lord says, take heart.. He overcame the world for us. That is our comfort and hope🙏🏾 Blessings ❤

Wow. Yes. I’ve mentioned to a few ppl, who I’ve had conversations with about my childhood, that I don’t feel like I was raised. Just taken care of. My family was Christian also. Those values were never shown to me by example. Never explained holistically. Just told to me with expectation to follow them even thought I didn’t understand them. Never taught in a way that they actually became MY VALUES. I just thought of them as things the Bible taught. Not understanding that they are beneficial principles from God for my benefit, and the benefit of his creation as a whole. Even though I don’t subscribe to the Christian doctrine. My faith (and many others) teaches the same values and they are now MY VALUES. I remember a time when I felt angry with the ppl that raised me. That they didn’t instill these values in me the right way. I refuse to make that mistake with my kids.

I’ve got the book 📖!!! I’m in the club!!! I had a good laugh about all conversations pointing back to God, in some way. There are times when we see something that’s out of order and one of my children will look to me and say “I don’t believe Gods is pleased with that.” 😮 That encourages my heart that they’re aware and learning what is and is not pleasing in God’s sight. It also gives me peace in knowing, that when I’m gone, they’ll have a firm foundation to stand on.

In regard to the pastor who said he got a divorce because God wanted him to Himself, wow. It is so important for us to read the Bible for ourselves because in Genesis, this man's argument is completely debunked. God created Adam first and had Adam to himself COMPLETELY. It was God who said that Adam needed a helpmate. It was God who said it was not good for Adam to be alone. If God wanted man to himself, He would've kept Adam to himself and never created Eve.

That Lovi guy is deceiving the masses of Christians who don't have strong discernment. He takes from alot of teachings and make them sound like new insight. He also teaches a few things that are not biblically sound, but ppl with itching ears will fall for his teachings everytime. W nes to rad our Bible for ourselves and we need to open our minds and THINK for ourselves too

Faith is truly the only armor against the enemy. I keep faith. As a single mom things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them especially now that I’m homeschooling them because my hours to work are limited. I suffered an heart attack two years ago and I’m battling lupus my health isn’t the best. Yet God gives me strength. I will keep faith as I constantly struggle to pay bills and I constantly struggle to buy groceries for my children. The devil wants me to give up. But I know God Gives His Hardest Battles To His Strongest Soldiers. Jesus is King and I will serve him no matter my struggles I will put my trust in Jesus.

There are some circumstances where the wife has to work if her husband is away at the military (depending on the rank, military does not always pay well), the husband is deceased, or if the husband's salary does not accommodate the entire economic state of the home's state, or addiction. In those cases being a latch key kid happens. My mother stayed home for to raise us and she babysat other neighbor's kids which always meant that I had all these little friends and my Mom with us during that short time. She needed to go back to work because of my father's financial priorities started to be redirected toward his wayward lifestyle. It is important that women that have no choice but to work not feel condemned, perhaps convicted as conviction brings about change. A healthy conviction could me a change in work responsibilities to be there more for kids. Employers who allow you to work from home, not doing overtime, reducing work hours, and in rare cases allowing your kids to come to the office where you are after they have finished school are just some suggestions how to work if a woman has to work in the above mentioned circumstances.

I am a very traditional Catholic SAHM, so we share the same root values even if our theology differs on some points. Your points about the struggles of husbands/fathers in ministry is the reason why the Catholic church does not allow priests to marry nowadays. It didnt start off that way, originally it was due to power/money corruption but since the church has reformed since the middle ages and thats no longer an issue, this is why THAT hasnt changed. It is a conflict of vocational duty

hey!! are you afraid of dying, or afraid of what comes after death? it may help to know why we even die in the first place. the Bible says in Romans 6:23 "the wages of sin is death." The reason WHY we even have to die in the first place is because of sin! And the worst part is, after we die on this earth, we have to stand before God and give an account for even word we ever spoke, every deed done, and every thought we've had, whether good or bad. God will judge everyone according to His law, the Ten Commandments. His law requires not to lie, steal, use His name in vain (ex: saying oh my (insert God's name), or commit adultery (and Jesus says that even looking at someone with lust is adultery in Matthew 5:27-28 (which applies if your a girl too lol) "whoever looks at a woman to lust for her commits adultery with her in his heart")
These are only some of God's ten commandments, and if you've broken them, God sees you as a lying, blaspheming, adulterous, thief. Obviously, if you were to die tonight and stand before God, you'd be guilty. The wage for your sin would be eternal death in Hell, with no escape or end. However.... GOD IS SO GOOD!!!! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for YOU! Jesus never sinned, so He never had to die, but He died so He could pay the wage of your sins for you! That is why the rest of romans 6:23 says, "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." And God promises that if you repent of your sins and turn to Jesus Christ in faith, He will grant you everlasting life. It is not your works that save you, but the work of Christ on the cross. He died, and rose from the dead, proving that through Him, though we may die on this earth, we will rise afterward to Heaven!
think of it.. who has ever loved you like Christ? Has any friend, family member, or boyfriend/girlfriend ever loved you so much to die for you? And Jesus didn't HAVE to die for you, but He chose to out of love, even though you have sinned so many times against Him. This is exactly why Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
You can die at anytime (no one knows when!) and end up face to face with God, Who will judge you based on His law. Without Christ, you will be guilty and damned for all of eternity in Hell. Why look for love anywhere else when God has so greatly loved you by dying to save you? please think about this, its not religion, but faith in Jesus Christ

Hi Miss Bindi. I absolutely loved the content in this video. I have a few books by this author and enjoy his teachings. I do have a couple of comment. I loved what you said about not feeling weird to talk about God all the time. I’m beginning to see the effects of it on my almost 3 year old and I love His child like theology. I also can totally agree with children just growing up as opposed to being raised. I see it in my own family especially with my close cousins. I would like to ask you a question, with all respect. why did you choose not to homeschool? I am heavily considering homeschooling, but my husband, who is an elementary public school teacher is a little hesitant about it. I also haven’t found many moms here on RUclips who look like us and do it successfully. What are your thoughts.

I will say even though my husband is not in ministry sometimes I feel he is married to his business. I have to think he is most concerned with providing for us more than anything.
I am Roman Catholic and the priests are celibate and marry the church. There is a priest that is divorced but it came with a lot of requirements. His kids had to be grown up adults that do not need his financial support.
The church has to be number one and he has to be available to the church 24/7. Deacons have to obtain a special permission from their wives to serve as deacons. They have to know they will come second before they decide. I think there might be a special preparation.

The man you referenced at 26:14 calls himself “prophet” Lovy and he’s a well documented false teacher; its no surprise he said something so out of pocket! "If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring Happiness to the wife he has married." Deuteronomy 24:5. God himself recognizes the importance of maintaining a happy marriage and relationship with your wife. How can God condone imbalance? The whole message Pastors preach is the relationship between God and His bride... So how in the world do they think they will be let off the hook if their marriages fail? God will hold them responsible because Unity and balance is His standard. Unbelievable.
