These little Yamaha guitars are great. Was in a guitar shop last week and picked one of these up to try it. Comfortable and really loud for its size. Was in buying a new bass but might’ve been tempted to buy one if it wasn’t for that haha Great review
I had the APX1 also gigged with it plenty in the 1990's. I called it "Mini Me" (at the time, Austin Powers was popular) Just ordered the "old violin" color option. After contemplating which acoustic electric to buy...really took my time...this was the right choice for me also. Happiness and Peace.
Ok, I've been thinking about picking up one of the little guys. You sold me, be sure to collect your commission from Yamaha. Thanks for the review brother.
Yeah I’ve got one, and yeah everything you said about it is 100%. I use it for travelling on plane, trains and automobiles! Also my boy 9 year old loves it for guitar lessons!
Great thorough detailed review. I typically prefer dreadnoughts and parlor size guitars but after seeing your video I’m thinking about getting one if these. Thank you
May 2024 🇿🇦 Cape Town Thanks so much Marc. I was in my teens in the '60's & bought a full size classical, which is a fab guitar BUT I am short & have small hands....wider nut & very high action. Now grandson is learning on an electric Epiphone Casino (he's tall) & Granny now wants a guitar size that is a better fit for me. I have a very varied taste in music but my favourite is Rock n Roll ....Stones , Beatles etc etc. I liked your demo, playing & talking about lowering the action. I have to wait until Aug, for the next shipment to arrive.🎸👍🏽🎵🎼🇿🇦
I thought I was the only one with an APX1 from the 90's that is unique....mine is sprayed silver sparkle, by the guy who painted Noel Gallagher's guitar leopard print! Love your graphic art one.
Excelent review 👌🏻👏🏻 tanks for conparison Yamaha travel guitars APXT1 and APXT2. Excelent Guitars. Best regards from Chile 🇨🇱. I'm sorry for my bad english
Hi from Cape Town Tks so much for your very informative talk & demo. I'm an active 72 year young rock n roll nutter. I recognised the Dire Strait song. Guitars in 🇿🇦 are damned expensive. However, after skrimping for years, I have finally decided that I want to fulfil my life ambition to master the guitar. This time, I am buying a 3/4 guitar, because my 1974 made in Japan, Ibanez Classical full size dreadnought with high action, is difficult to learn on, as I am a shorty with small hands. This guitar has a fantastic tone (for all genres of music) & I will use it as well in the future, when my fingers stretch more. (All rosewood)...love its tone. I have to wait until August, 2024 for the next shipment to arrive for the Yamaha APXT2. 🙃 ● I know I am asking a lot, but if you have an action gauge, I would be so grateful if you would tell me what your string actions are set at, now after you shaved a bit off under the saddle, as I intend to ask a luthier to also lower the action of my new APXT2, when stock arrives. PS I have listened to this multiple times....& so have my family🤣🤣🤣 Thanks again. Trish
Hi I use 10 gauge light acoustic strings, my action was set up so quite low about 3mm from fret to string at the 12th fret, keep on rockin" it is a great guitar
Awesome review. Picked up a classical one to learn need a steel string next for other things to learn on. Seen this coz I tot midget hands 😆 hard to get honest reviews ignoring the big big names like Taylor or Martin
it is smaller - I love it for practicing, singing at home and having fun. It is perfect to fit in my car and go for picnic. but it is quieter so performacewise - you will need an amp
Thanks for a great review. I was looking for a parlor sized guitar, and your review tipped the balance in favor of the APXT2. I must say I was pretty surprised with the build quality. While the action falls far short of superb, mine was quite tolerable right out of the box. Even the Tuners hold tune in the case after the strings stretch in. And there is my BIG rub... I must say that for a guitar of this quality, I was disappointed with the cheesy gig bag, though I suppose it helps, in small part, to keep the asking price down. It would be far more suited to a lower end Chinese beater. I did find a gig bag at the second hand store for a Taylor Baby, and it was a very complementary fit!
Picked one up last week and love it

They are great for both busking and stage work

How is the sound power of the Yamaha APXT2 without amplifier, compared with the sound of a normal size guitar?
it is smaller - I love it for practicing, singing at home and having fun. It is perfect to fit in my car and go for picnic. but it is quieter so performacewise - you will need an amp
Not to bad
Guitar beginner here, how do you use the tuner? Does it tune to whatever note you want?

I'd be intrested as to how low you took the bridge . Could you give me the height of tyenstrings at the 7th fret. It would be so helpful !
3mm
@@MarcLebone Thank you Sir !
$235.00 USD on 4/29/24
not bad price
Is it easier to play than a full size or is the fret width and length standard and just the body smaller?
Just as easy
Thank you
Thanks for the review
It goes to 11...
You look like batmans butler
Really?
neato
Wish Yamaha would bring back the APX 4A.😊😋🤗.That Guitar ain't worth the hype.
Are you capable of play and not talk?
Point is, he's excited about it. :) I could hear the guitar and also appreciated what was said. Happiness and Peace.
