Yamaha APXT2 Unboxing + Size Comparison + Test Playing

- I would like to present my new acoustic guitar: it's a Yamaha APXT2 Acoustic Travel Guitar (Black), a 3/4 size guitar which is a smaller replica of the popular Yamaha
I'm doing an unboxing video in the nature, in the beautiful Alpine environment of my homeland, Aosta Valley, Italy, as I did one year ago with another guitar (the Epiphone EJ-200 SCE VN jumbo guitar).
This is a very interesting guitar, because the neck's size and playability are exactly the same as a regular sized guitar, but the body and the headstock are significantly smaller than usual lacoustic or electric guitars, which means that the Yamaha APXT2 guitar can be easily carried on a plane, on a train or even in a car full of luggages. This is what made me decide to buy it. It looks beautiful and it's very light and it sounds pretty good for its size.
It also features a built-in tuner (which I didn't tested in this video, because I didn't have batteries with me and I didn't notice that batteries were available in the little bag included in the guitar case!) and a built-in preamp, so the guitar can be plugged into an amplifier and it can be used as an acoustic-electric guitar.
After showing the instrument, I made several size comparisons with different guitar models that I have (acoustic, electric guitars and even guitalele and ukulele), so you can have an idea about the Yamaha APXT2's size.
After tuning the guitar, you can hear how it sounds after the 08:10 minute.
I'm playing just a few of my songs in different styles: with capo, with barré chords, with open chords, fingerstyle.

I'm so glad you still remember when you discovered me because of my Yamaha Gl1 guitalele that you have, too. :) Last month I was traveling for the first time with this Yamaha APXT2 and it was great, because it sounds more like a real acoustic guitar. It's bigger than the guitalele, though. :)

Ahah, my cameraman doesn't know anything about first aid and I'm not sure he can drive an ambulance, but luckily I didn't have any trouble with my scissors! I'm glad you enjoyed this setting I chose for my video, my friend. This is a big park not far from my home and I often go in that area for running. It was a good idea for an unboxing, too. I would love to show more locations on new unboxing videos, because... It will mean I'll have new guitars to show!

I prefer the Jumbo for the sound but it is too big for traveling. I used to be a fan of smaller guitars because they are often louder when you are picking and respond easier and faster. But playing chords on a small guitars with flat pick does not sound to good when you are playing alone. It might make sense playing in a acoustic set up (band). Did you ever got your hands on a banjolele, Federico? It might be an ideal instrument for you playing the streets and travelling.

Thank you so much for your comment and for your thoughts about smaller (and bigger) guitars, dear Frank. I agree, I would love to have my Jumbo guitar always with me, but it's difficult to bring it even in places near my home, so I can't imagine flying with it or travelling on a car with that big guitar case and then all the other luggages. This smaller guitar is a good compromise solution. Quite easy and comfortable to play, though you are right about the chords. I think it's still better than my guitalele, because it's tuned like a guitar and it can be played like a guitar, having a regular sized neck. It will appear often in my videos in the future, of course. ;) I never tried any banjolele. It sound interesting, I may have to try it someday!

Just out of the box... But after tuning it and giving it more time, it sounds good for what it was made for.

Playing it with a pick after tuning it sounds better, but when you do an unboxing you can't have everything ready at the moment, right?
Its not tuned up and the reviwer misses the main plus with this particular guitar because plugged in to a amp they are actually amazing
