I bought mine over 3 years ago now as I was travelling all the time, and it was a great companion. It was dead easy to transport and perfect for hotel bedrooms so as not to cause any annoyance to others.
However.... At home, it gets plugged into my Marshall AS50D and boy, it's a whole different animal. It totally comes alive!!!!
An absolutely awsome buy at a tiny budget price. I cannot recommend the APXT2 highly enough.

I want to thank you for such a great review as I am considering a few different acoustics this being one of them and may I say that the blues/ jazz tune you are jamming on at the begining is absolutely beautiful. With the tone turned to the bass, I would have believed you were playing a Dreadnought, really BIG sound! with it turned all the way to treble, it sounded pretty bluesey. Midway it sounded very much like an electric with no effects. What a versatile little box the APXT2 is! BTW, I just loved your intro number, which confirmed it's Blues chops to me.

I have been to the music shops and have played this guitar. Really love it. I am now researching reviews, with an intent to buy. Do like the black, though. Curious about your comment about the tuners? When at the shop, do not get to know about these aspects. Those tuners look almost like a classical setup. Are they a specific brand. You had the most comprehensive review of all, and you gig as well, and used it for few years. Yes I am close to a purchase, now, regards, David

The SKB Cases models 1SKB-300 Hard case or 1SKB-SC300 Soft Case will work for APXT2. I bought my APXT2 plus the SKB Soft Case in November of 2016 and the guitar has lived happily in that case since. I went for the soft case as the guitar is meant to be a travel guitar and the soft case has shoulder straps on it , giving you options as to carrying it.

You are one amazing guitarist. I'm completely blown away and I'm a prof. musician myself, so I can judge. Please look into the song Hold Me In Your Arms by Rick Astley from 1988. Play it with headphones and listen to the guitar playing left and right. To me one of the most creative 6-string performances I have ever heard... until I came to your video! Your style is more bluesy here but the overall technique and feel really reminded me of my favorite underrated and completely forgotten guitar arrangement in the aforementioned tune.

Been thinking of this guitar to take on my motorcycle. I have child's guitar I take now, but this yamaha sounds pretty good. I also bought the Boss Acoustic Singer Live and dream of crossing the country on the bike and play for tips and giggles, this could be the one for that. Sounds pretty good. Also very affordable. - Cheers

@@BrentHutchinson OK Brent, a year later I am back grooving to your killer demo, still thinking about the guitar. Travel plans on hold naturally, but still have the bug.
I want to rig up a totally water proof case for he bike. This guitar is definitely still high on the list. Great playing. Would cool to see a live gig.. - Cheers

I was only considering getting this guitar, but after listing to Brent play: SOLD! although, I have a feeling he could make a $40 kids guitar from toys-r-us sound good. How long has he been playing? 😍

@@muleoutpost8156 Thank you. That makes sense. After I tried it out at my guitar store I fell back in love with my Yamaha LS16. Unplugged the APXT2, can’t compare and I mostly play unplugged, for now. I’m considering a Taylor GT as my second guitar though.

@@zahararay5611 it's hard to go wrong with a Taylor... I've always intended to buy one for myself. I have changed mentalities though. I'd rather find a hidden gem and make it mine with an upgrade here and there than to purchase something from a store. I've been playing a "higher end" Epiphone for years while I tried to justify the cost of a Taylor or Gibson J200. I just can't do it. I'd rather buy a cedar top Seagull and pour the rest into other gear and upgrades... My APXT2 is about to get new tuners and possibly upgraded nut, bridge, and pegs.
