Tomi P. - Hellfire bass cover (the Hunchback of Notre Dame song). Only Tim Foust is lower than Tomi. And though i say bass cover, he includes falsetto as well. Even whistle register! So even greater range as Geoff!
Scary thing for just how good Peter is, he recorded a version of this himself and sang every single note except the low G#1 at the very end. Peter's range is just ridiculous.

@@Mikki44 If you talk about the first few chords with no lyrics you are wrong. Peter once said, that the vocals in the beginning were all done by himself. You Can listen to an older version of that song on Peters Channel where there is no Tim and the beginning is the same. I guess that he just polished the sound quality a bit for the new Version with Tim. :D
They were in 2 separate places for the video … they recorded the audio at Peter’s studio. Tim & Peter are long time friends, as they sang together in the a cappella group Ball in the House.

Lol love this song and how these guys did it so beautifully . I let my husband listen to the ending part because he was in a death metal band as a singer and he said this was a gutteral that was done it is very hard to do if you not use to doing them .

If you stare at Tim at the end or maybe it’s to the left...you can see the camera shake on that last note. Peter is a master at layering and it’s just the two of them which I find incredible. They are so good together and have collaborated on many songs together. Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Greensleeves, Fire and Rain. You're gonna get me joining right quick. I love your reference, and you absolutely had me enchanted with that Gregorian Chant ('chan te' is the Latin, if memory serves). I'm about to nail every part of this song in one voice (your reference to opened nasal passages REALLY helped me sing along with this and improve quality)! I really struggle with the low bass and high falsetto unto head voice transition, and your video made a MAJOR difference in real time... Thank you! :-D

Peter Hollens is amazing! He has some fun Disney medleys and you can't go wrong with his collaborations. He has one with a gentleman named Chase Holfelder that is a back and forth battle with the music of Imagine Dragons. Chase Holfelder is someone you should check out as well. Especially his Major to Minor series. "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid done in a minor key is incredibly creepy!
These two did a great job of capturing the essence of the song - which is actually in The Hobbit book. I am an extreme Tolkien nerd (I speak fluent Quenya), and to see someone else understand the context of the song and do it justice is great. For context for those of you who aren't Tolkien addicts, this is the song that the Dwarves sing in Bilbo's house after they've gathered for their expedition. It's sad song, about loss of their original home, which was taken by Smaug. You can feel the sense of loss and longing for home in the way these two sing it, and the resolve to reclaim it towards the end in a grim but determined way. It's the musical version of "there's a good chance we will die fighting for our home, but we are willing to die to get it back from this ancient evil." The song is very significant, because it's the first time that the party comes together and does something as a unit. It's their first real bonding with each other.

14:19 I'm months late but look at Tim's Larynx when he hits the Growl note, it didn't go downwards, it goes upwards, I was trying out that same Growl Note and I put my fingers on my throat where my Larynx lie and then did the growl note and low and behold it went upwards. I was just wondering "If the growl note is lower your lowest chest voice note then why does it go upwards when you sing a growl note".

He has one with a gentleman named Chase Holfelder that is a back and forth battle with the music of Imagine Dragons. Chase Holfelder is someone you should check out as well. Especially his Major to Minor series. "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid done in a minor key is incredibly creepy!

These two did a great job of capturing the essence of the song - which is actually in The Hobbit book. I am an extreme Tolkien nerd (I speak fluent Quenya), and to see someone else understand the context of the song and do it justice is great.
For context for those of you who aren't Tolkien addicts, this is the song that the Dwarves sing in Bilbo's house after they've gathered for their expedition. It's sad song, about loss of their original home, which was taken by Smaug. You can feel the sense of loss and longing for home in the way these two sing it, and the resolve to reclaim it towards the end in a grim but determined way. It's the musical version of "there's a good chance we will die fighting for our home, but we are willing to die to get it back from this ancient evil."
The song is very significant, because it's the first time that the party comes together and does something as a unit. It's their first real bonding with each other.

I do like the visual contrast of both singers. Peter is lighted more, while Tim's is darker. I feel it fits their different sounds.

14:19 I'm months late but look at Tim's Larynx when he hits the Growl note, it didn't go downwards, it goes upwards, I was trying out that same Growl Note and I put my fingers on my throat where my Larynx lie and then did the growl note and low and behold it went upwards. I was just wondering "If the growl note is lower your lowest chest voice note then why does it go upwards when you sing a growl note".
