I always thought that all human being in the Zone consuming meats from outside the Zone like chicken meat that Sidorovich eat on game's intro, because the Zone itself is radiated. But now knowing the fact that Barkeep's one of recipes from mutant animal, I wonder... Is that really safe to consume
Well, my theory is that Barkeep uses antiradiation artifacts to decontaminate mutant meat. But still, it's not only the radiation that could be dangerous, but the fact that the meat is mutated, so I guess it's still not really safe.
The ingame messaging system actually alludes to this, one of the "random news" updates is a duty member eating something irradiated and talking about looking for anti-rads in a local cell.

The reason why the normal dogs seems to be wiped out by the blind dogs seems to be because after blind dogs go feral and mutated, they become more sociable with each other and formed a pack, which vastly improves their survivability compared to being alone, combined with how fast they breed before the disaster, it makes their numbers very sustainable. Using swarm tactic to overwhelm their prey, it's much easier for them to get food, whether it's other mutants or stalkers compared to normal dog (which is why I always carry a shotgun to deal with them), the pack also have a hierarchy, as you've said before, when you kill their pack leader (alpha dog), the rest will retreat, suggesting that the alpha dog is smart enough to lead the attack or signal others to retreat when they are at a disadvantage. Back when I played the Oblivion Lost mod for Shadow of Chernobyl one of my favorite tactics was exploiting a glitch that spawned a large herd of rodents and would lead them to the bandit base, crawl up on the roof of the building across from it, and let the rodents clear out the base for me. The only downside was I'd never get to save the Duty guy the bandits were ready to execute
Once I fired onto the ground next to a pack of blind dogs (near the death truck in Cordon) where a bandit squad was patrolling. That aggravated the pack and immediately attacked the bandits and killed them. It was very satisfying to watch ;-)

It's one thing to fill your belly and keep it down, it's other thing if the stalker manages to survive long enough to suffer the long term effects of such a diet. For most stalkers my assumption is they're ignorant, out of sight out of mind or are simply too fatalistic knowing their odds. Yes, I think that if the devs are able to implement it well, it could work. However, if they cannot do it properly, I would not be disappointed to not see it in the game.

Thanks. I'm gonna be honest, I won't do videos specifically about Anomaly. There are many reasons for this that I won't get into, but basically I prefer to keep making videos about the vanilla games.
As Sun Tzu quotes “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” Now we understand what kind of enemy we fight, we can prepare what the most best way to defeat them.... 😎 Very nice video bratan you've done it well. Now we will wait for video of the most grotesque mutant ever in STALKER lore..... Pseudogiant, Chimera, Lurker, Bloodsucker, Psy-Sucker, Burer, etc... By the way I am still curious where the snakes go? Are they mutated or die because of radiation and environment drastic change?
@@anomalousdugout9557 yeah it make me curious because that's a lot of ground to cover and I think it's impossible if there's no snake in the wilderness especially in Red Forest ground like Steppe Viper.
1:49 on the contrary, huge doses of radiation or prolonged irradiation will cause ionization of the dna due to such high amounts of energy received from the radionuclides which emit radiation. as a result alerations to the genome will occur which affects the chromosomes and alleles which define physical characteristics. therefore ir is a fact that radiation will cause cancer under the above stated conitions and/or may cause physical mutations. its primarily the radiation which causes such deformities whereas anomalies may grant them their abilities. but that too may be radiation
Great channel! Have you ever read the book the game is based off of? (Roadside Picnic). It'd be great if you looked into the differences or made an audiobook out of it.
8:53 - Could this imply that in the STALKER world, there exis furries who dress up as mutants from the Zone. You know, wearing animal tails can only go donwhill from there...
Let me get a fact for you guys (this may or may not be an issue but ima say it anyways) So the bandits in Cs and ect are harder to kill than in CoP and SoC.
I think an honorable mention should go out to the Tark, a cut mutant from the first game based on a mutated version of an endangered horse species that had been introduced to the Zone following the first disaster. It was supposedly an entry in a contest to design a mutant with the winning entry being added to the game, and the winner was the Snork, but the devs liked the Tark enough that it seems they actually bothered to model it at one point and iirc decided at some point that the Tark is canon to the series, but that it went extinct before any of the games (presumably hunted to extinction by stalkers, poaching being one of the primary reasons why its progenitor species was endangered to begin with).
Yes, I know about the tark, but there is so little content about it... Maybe I'll talk about it in a future video, however I have no idea how to get the mutant to work in the game. Perhaps some mods re-introduced it, but I've never seen it.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Fair enough. Maybe it could be included in a video on cut mutants, along with stuff like the Phantasm (partly implemented as the Psy-Dog), the Zombie (not to be confused with Zombified Stalkers), the Karlik, the Izlom, and the Morlock (later builds of Lost Alpha has this one iirc)? Could also include footage from the Oblivion Lost mod for STALKER for the “Lord of All Dwarfs” cut in an early stage of development that was supposed to be the boss of X-18, but was replaced by the Pyrogeist (the Oblivion Lost mod restores it) There are screenshots of the Tark from early beta builds of Shadow of Chernobyl, and I know that some of the builds can be found online, so maybe one of them has a functional Tark in it?
@@z3r0_35 Yeah, I'm thinking of making a video with all the less-known mutants so if I do the tark will be in there for sure. In the meantime, I'll try to dig deeper on the internet to find a functional tark.
@@anomalousdugout9557 I’ll let you know if I find anything. As for the other mutants, all of them but the Phantasm (and maybe Morlocks, I’ve heard they’re in newer builds of Lost Alpha but I can’t confirm it - older builds use Karlitos instead of them for the Pripyat Underground) have been implemented in one form or another via various mods, and as I already said, the Phantasm’s abilities are pretty similar to what the Psy-Dog does. Oh and another mutant I forgot to mention is the Black Chernobyl Dog, but there’s nothing special about it other than it being a bigger blind dog with black skin (the scientifically-correct term being “melanism”) and at least in Call of Chernobyl and its derivatives they give off *extreme* amounts of radiation to their surroundings.
@@z3r0_35 Alright, thanks. I'll try to figure out the best way to talk about all of those in videos, maybe it will be one large video or several smaller ones, we'll see. There are many other things to do first (such as the labs), so it will be for later.
In the wild territory I encountered some kind of enemy or moving anomaly that leaves me guessing. It looks like a small bunch of swirling grey particles that float around and it makes noises similar to the ones of a poltergeist. Sometimes this thing attacks with some kind of circular outburst of fire (just like a shockwave) when getting close to me, sometimes it leaves me alone. I never encountered it outside the wild territory and it seems to spawn rarely. Is there any description of that thing?
I forget the name of it but in anomaly there's a fire variant of the poltergeist that basically hits you with fire anomalies instead of boxes, it's a red smoky poltergeist by look maybe that's what you saw?
@@jimbothegymbro7086 Nope, it wasn't the fire poltergeist or the flame anomaly. the fire variant of the poltergeist we know attacks like a flamethrower. The thing I found attacked with a single short eruption that would hit everything around it. The sounds that it made were similar to the UFO-sounds in classic movies (a pitched sinus sound) and it looked more like a swarm of grey insects or swirling dust.
@@arterialtribal unless you're playing with a mod to add it then it was probably a bugged poltergeist that got the pseudo Giant stomp as it's attack, either way congrats on finding another wacky mutant/anomaly in the zone, you're a true stalker
@@jimbothegymbro7086 I don't use mods and the the attack of this enemy / anomaly isn't like the one of a pseudogiant. It looks more like a ring of flames and It does firedamage. If you or anyone wants to try to find it, here is the location where I met it: When you enter the wild territory from rostock head to the point where the short stairs lead up to the train platform where all the burnt fuzz is. There it was. Even when attacked it moved back and forth like on tracks without reacting to attacks so I think it was an anomaly

Thanks. I'm gonna be honest, I won't do videos specifically about Anomaly. There are many reasons for this that I won't get into, but basically I prefer to keep making videos about the vanilla games.
@@anomalousdugout9557 :(
Oh? So you like stalker universe? *Name every stalker!*
No.
I hope the feral cat returns but causes heavy bleeding but less damage while Blind Dog does more damage but less bleeding
hey anomalous dugout you forgot to mention that boars have developed an extra set of dusks, i might be wrong but i love your channel nontheless
As Sun Tzu quotes “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Now we understand what kind of enemy we fight, we can prepare what the most best way to defeat them.... 😎
Very nice video bratan you've done it well.
Thank you, Sun Tzu was a wise man. I don't know about the snakes honestly. I'm not even sure if there are snakes in the real exclusion Zone.
@@anomalousdugout9557 yeah it make me curious because that's a lot of ground to cover and I think it's impossible if there's no snake in the wilderness especially in Red Forest ground like Steppe Viper.
Another wonderful video :)
Thank you very much.
excellent videos :)
Thank you stalker.
Okay, the comment on the dog tail made me laugh.
Great job comrade!
Great video as always
Good work
Thank you very much.

Thanks, next part should be in 2 weeks.
I assume that the reason rats were cut from the was because they were too small. I bet they would be very annoying to fight against
I'd love to have my own psydog

Yeah perhaps, you should tell that to Sakharov.
There was a pet pseudo dog in clear sky base in swamps
You are playing a mod right ? Then it's Doctor's pseudodog.
Great channel! Have you ever read the book the game is based off of? (Roadside Picnic). It'd be great if you looked into the differences or made an audiobook out of it.
Thanks, yes I've read the book. I don't think I'll do videos about it though.
Man I love ur work
Thank you stalker.
@@anomalousdugout9557 u r the only guy who helped me and the only guy who prints memory's to this game and we will stay eating for stalker 2 💜
Plenty of cats are found in Anomaly. They can fuk you up real bad, but unlike dogs, they make a loud sound.
we are not stalker we are duty
Okay.
Waited for stalker mukbang
Maybe Barkeep and the people at the bar can do that.
Yes
I've missed you friend, youtube hardly suggests you
Thanks, yeah I know right, not a lot of people care about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. stuff.
8:53 - Could this imply that in the STALKER world, there exis furries who dress up as mutants from the Zone. You know, wearing animal tails can only go donwhill from there...
Pseudodogs can still procreate as evidenced by Noah's ending slide.
Yes, that's right.
I just know that if you shoot one of the psy dogs the other will drag it corpses to somewhere
Anomalous dogout you can make a story about the dead soldiers in yantar pls
We'll talk about them in the video about X-16, which should come out soon.
@@anomalousdugout9557 thanks!! For info:)
My friend I think you've missed a few.... Like Chimera or Pseudogiant??
I've not missed them, I just don't think they are animal mutants. They will be featured in a future video.
about the pseudog, what about the one in clear sky camp? it still counts right?
It's from mods, so no it does not count.
Let me get a fact for you guys (this may or may not be an issue but ima say it anyways) So the bandits in Cs and ect are harder to kill than in CoP and SoC.
Yes, Clear Sky has always been the hardest game of the 3.
Your accent is very cool! Are you from Ukkraine? Greetings from Brazil!
Thanks, no I'm not from Ukraine.
can you talk about mutants being cut from the game zombie would be a good example
Maybe I will in a future video.
I love it
:)
@@anomalousdugout9557 :D you’re my favorite game lore channel
Biggest question why is that guy in stalker Shadow of Chernobyl he had a tamed mutant dog i think
doctor ?
Could also include footage from the Oblivion Lost mod for STALKER for the “Lord of All Dwarfs” cut in an early stage of development that was supposed to be the boss of X-18, but was replaced by the Pyrogeist (the Oblivion Lost mod restores it)
There are screenshots of the Tark from early beta builds of Shadow of Chernobyl, and I know that some of the builds can be found online, so maybe one of them has a functional Tark in it?
I already tried to sleep at the point where it spawned over and over again to make it spawn again after blowouts and still try it from time to time.
I just realized I've heard this person's accent before.
I'm not sure what that accent is. but it's common enough that I'll assume it's an accent. or something like it.
