karrie I do a bunch of wood working and I think your best bet will be to wood glue that spool or use liquid nails and clamp it and let it dry I think that will be the most efficient way to fix it!!
You did an excellent job I just wish I had your energy... The black chairs make the entire kitchen set love the color the tabletop came out thank you for sharing you always give me so many ideas and most of all you give me hope!

I had a console table the same orange tone and I had to sand and sand and sand. So that the orange would be removed. I ended up staining it dark walnut and it came out amazing
My parents purchased an old oak table and chairs just like this from an estate sale back in the very early 70s. It was an antique and quite a find. They hand stripped and sanded off all the layers of paint to stain and seal that old oak wood. It was a beautiful set. Having said all that to say that I'm a huge fan of natural wood HOWEVER your table and chairs are GORGEOUS ‼️ You did a phenomenal job and all those layers look so beautiful on the table top. I love that you chose black for the chairs. A triple BRAVO for this job so WELL DONE 👏🏻‼️👏🏻

This is one of my favorite tables with those feet. I have been looking for one for my home.
I had a console table the same orange tone and I had to sand and sand and sand. So that the orange would be removed. I ended up staining it dark walnut and it came out amazing
