- We decided to upgrade our dining table that we got at a yard sale years ago, but new dining tables were expensive, so I decided to give our dining table a makeover.

Looks great, I’d cover the chair cushions and put thicker foam pads as well.
I'm surprised she didn't take the opportunity to recover the chair pads - table came out great but the chair pads look cheap
I was thinking the same thing.
I agree totally!!! Thicker foam and new material for the chairs would have been nice, but gotta give this young lady KUDOS!!!… for all the commitment she put into this project!!!
She can always redo the seat cushions when inspiration strikes.
@@gailwilliams5278 Yes, next time she goes to Joannes Fabric she can see if anything, as my mother would say, strikes her eye. They have some nice indoor/outdoor fabric that is easier to keep clean
Good job! You saved your family a chunk of money, kept your old table from going into the trash and learned some new skills. That's a win all the way around.
She really didn't save her family money. She spent money. Still she spent very little and got her family a great value using elbow grease to make the difference.
It’s so nice to see what people do when they refinish something they already have. Regardless of personal style, I think we can all agree it looks amazing!
Amazing? I wouldn't go that far
@@Sandi-zh2wx The transformation was pretty amazing.
Well she did buy it at a garage sale for 30 dollars. Still she did a great job.
Gorgeous work and how great you restored something old instead of throwing it away. Here's a little trick I learned from my dad, you can fix screw holes that are stripped or just too big with some toothpicks and wood glue. It's a cheap and easy method that works great :)
I’ve always used match sticks
You did a beautiful job. Since you had the chair cushions off, I think they would have looked even nicer with a pretty light colored cloth fabric. Like the inspiration.
Thank you ☺️
Agreed
Great idea that could be another project at a other time.
Having children and light colored fabric doesn’t fair too well unless it’s abed to be wiped off.
@@CarolBlair-ni1df Could be dark material - just not black vinyl
I'm an artist who is also conversant in faux paint finishes. Your mistake was to stop your brushstroke at the edge of the table. You should continue with one long sweeping stroke that starts before the edge and continues beyond the edge of the surface. Then you won't get those raggedy-looking edges to the finish. Best regards. I love to see people taking on artistic projects of all kinds.
The quality of the old table was worth the refinish. All the new stuff is made in China and uses particle board. Good for you!
Looks great…need to cover the cushions with something jazzy!
Your dining set turned out beautifully. I’m glad you shared the oopses and how you fixed them, great job!!!
Thanks so much! 😊
its beautiful, but i do think you might want to cover the seat cushions
That came out nicely.
I myself hate the distressed look.wish someone would just like furniture to look new again.😢...love your video and work though.new subscribers here❤
Hahaha also glad you didn’t cut the leaf scream out. 😂
Love what you did with Mr. Caterpillar. That was absolutely charming. I could have watched more of that conversation.
Don't be hard about yourself not fixing those cracks earlier. Sometimes the cracks are not fully revealed until the first top coat goes on. A primer coat can look so blotchy that the wood flaws are less evident.
It is beautiful and I love the restraint you used with the distressing. Some manufactures let you choose your distressing preferences and believe it or not this set would be under " heavily distressed." Sadly most DIY RUclipsrs have an all or nothing attitude on distressing. Either they go way too far and make a mess or they add none at all. Most pieces with notable exceptions need some degree of distressing or the look is too fresh. Most of the best furniture pieces out of North Carolina (Henredon, Drexel, Hickory Chair, etc) are so lightly distressed most people don't even see it. My daughter was studying architecture/design, said she didn't like distressing adding, "None of your furniture is distressed." I assured her they were. She was amazed when I pointed out the marks, dents and very light specks. You did a great job.
Very beautiful. Well done!
I know it is a hard work but it is worth it❤
Thank you Toni for not cutting out the scream 😋I have an idea for the next project: DIY bookshelf - I think your books are getting too heavy 🤭or is there already a video about that? *looks for the video*
Haha you can see the bookshelves are smiling 😂 yes possibly in the future
You did a great job refinishing that dining set. Also im so glad Toni/Tony did not delete the part where you reacted to the leaves falling in your head.
I used to love watching a woman with a business of furniture flipping. She would get pieces in trash if they were mostly intact physically. You are also very creative and talented. Go luck. It will be epic
WOW! Absolutely Beautiful!!! ❤ Awesome job! Well Done! 🎉🎊
You did a great job! You have a unique dining set that you will enjoy for a long time to come❤
Wow! You have really made this look amazing, probably much nicer than when it was first made! I love the colors and finishes!
Oh my goodness! So much work! You have a lot more patience and energy than I do. 👍🏻
Very impressed with your work, patience & knowledge. I'm going to refinish my coffee table. My husband wants me to use a sander but I've never used one. I'll do my best & I'll have to sand the legs with a cloth. You've inspired me to get it started. Thank you, God Bless✝️🙏🏼
Table and chairs turned out very nice when you were finished.
Fantastic, excellent work 🎉
Idk how I found you but I am so glad I did. I've been binge watching and I absolutely love this channel. You deserve way more subscribers! Everyone smash that like button and subscribe. You're killing it girl!
Your attention to every detail is amazing. Great work! 10:31
I love how you did this transformation of your table and chairs. It is just beautiful. Again I love it. Keep up the good work 😊
Great job! You have good taste! Your choice of colors moved the dining set into a high-end item! Beautiful!
You did a fantastic job!! I really liked the wood grain created by the antiquing wax.
I was so disappointed to see that you didn’t recover the chair pads with some beautiful rich looking fabric 🫤 To me that’s the best part of this makeover…
Great job Tiffany. Thank you for sharing the whole process. The finished product is lovely!! 👍🏻😄
You’re very witty but also great at teaching!! Thank you. I’m inspired.
i just came across your channel a few days ago and i cant stop watching!! i've been bingeing your channel for days now lol, you're amazing at what you do!!
Thank you ☺️
Why did you not recover your seats? They would have looked so much better! Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them.
They look fine !
I think it actually has more interest with the chair details and the leg details on the table
You go, girl! Great job. Please try more DIY. Projects are very satisfying. Oh, please NO taking Christ's name in vain, that's offensive.
Very very good project ‼️
Real,clear,informative,interesting!
I definitely recommend this channel as a refurbishing school not just for women’s education but also for young children who want to learn about their abilities and skills…..
Be blessed and highly favored and motivated to find more content🥰
Looks so good! That was a lot of work but you did it right, prepping your surfaces, priming etc. Should last a long time.
The whisk broom is a great idea. It turned out beautiful!
Fabulous! 😊
BEAUTIFUL job! I love the refinished set much better than the newer set 🪑
You did a beautiful job. The table and chairs are so pretty.
You are a true artist. Always enjoy seeing the before and after. One reason I like watching all your videos is the explanations you give and the guidance.
Kiddo, you did a very nice job on your "new" table. The wood grain looks natural, I think. Thank for the instruction just in case I ever want to tackle a table like this. Lol.*
good job on recreating a wood look on the top of the table. it looks exactly like the real thing.
Thank you ☺️
The table came out Great!!!! Tiffany you did an amazing job.
Thank you ☺️
I really enjoyed your video. You are definitely very patient! It turned out so nice!
👍 very nicely done!
You took what you had and made it new again.
Really looks amazing such a great turnaround on an old set
Great job, especially the top. You took your time and did it right, which is how it should be done.
Damnnn I was looking forward to see what fabric you were going to reupholster the seats with! It would be so easy! You definitely should go thrift some placemats or curtains and cut them and staple gun it on the seats!!! I hope you do to match the table better. Great job weathering the table!
Chill out the seats look GREAT! Chill out
Great job and beautiful transformation. Love the before and after pictures. 😊
I am not good using the paint gun, so I think I'll do it slowly with a roller. You are a champion doing that. Beautiful done.
Stunning, a lot of hard work and what a fabulous result. Beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful job you did a wonderful job of that old table and you brought it back to life. That’s what I like to see him videos. Thanks for sharing.
What a fantastic job you did with the table & chairs!!! And the way you explained, talked through, and demonstrated the process was so good & entertaining, especially for a person like me, who has no ability or skill to do this kind of project. You have a new subscriber!
Excellent work and beautiful results!
So pretty! And you saved a table and chair set!! Love that!!✌️❤️🙏
❤ watching your process! You did such a fine job. The finished product is beautiful!
Well worth the work 💕 Don’t ya love recreating ?
I do for sure! Great job and I like the black chair seats.
Looks beautiful! I agree with other comments. I also thought change chair cushions to a cocoa brown & add some foam to seats.
Great job. Love how it turned out. As a fellow furniture flipper, I am amazed the gel stain went over the wax on the top. Never tried that. Glad it worked out.
The table looks wonderful, more beautiful than the Pinterest one.
You did a really good job. 👏 it looks 100 times better. And I just love repurposed items instead of buying new. Pretty much all of my bedroom furniture is thrifted and painted to match. And looks distressed in one way or another. My living room is all thrifted except my hide a bed couch and a couple storage ottomans that blend with everything else. My tv and modem/ router console is an old radio or possibly tv cabinet that had all its electronic parts removed but works perfectly as my electronics cabinet. The hole in the back where the antenna came out is the hole where all the electronic cords come out to connect to the tv which sits on top or the cords go out to plug into the electricity or to my computer. So all the cords are hidden and well organized in this beautiful wooden cabinet. I got the cabinet for free from a friend who got it for free from someone else. My desk in my office was a curbside rescue. Very simple and sturdy desk that was this ugly mustard yellow with glitter mixed in. I covered it in layers of sea foam green milk paint to match the decor in my office. But I left a fringe of the glitter on the side edges and the wooden knob. It looks intentionally painted that way. I’m so happy with it. Thanks for your inspo
An amazing transformation ! It's beautiful. Loved your kitties !!!!
AWESOME AND AMAZING!!!👏👏👏
WOW you did a great job. It looks amazing
Thank you so much!
I'm normally not a fan of painting wood, but this came out beautifully. Well done!
Wow you put a lot of work into this. Looks great.
Definitely put fabric of your choice ,however sturdy and spray with a protector on the seats of the chairs. You can put padding also. Very simple to do.
Nice job! Better than anything that you could buy.
And yes, like a lot of comments: I'd recover the seats in a grey/white/black pattern fabric. Add a layer of foam for more padding.
Fabric does not work with kids They look great’
Work of art!!
Thanks! 💜
I love how the cat tried out the new dining setting. Beautiful job and I learnt a lot thank you 🥰
It had an eye out on the progress and was the first to try it out
@@doloreskozlowski Yep 😁
Nice but distress is never a good look smooth clean crisp gives new life to projects
What a great job from a professional painter! You go girl
Fantastic job. I agree with a light color cushion. But could come when you decide to make a change. You have to do want you like. I changed my seat cushions to match a curtain change. It’s fun . Enjoy 😊
Great job, such attention to detail.
Good on you!! It takes courage to try new things.
Catapiller voice over has me ded
You did a great job on this, Tiff!
Thank you so much!
You are an artist . Well done
Nice job! Turned out so well!
Looks so nice... great job!!!
Truly an amazing transformation!!! Great savings too!
Nicely done!
Excellent new life for that table! Great Save!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful 🤩 wish I had the guts to take on a project like that 😅
That is why I did not keep my mom’s old dining table 😢
Your project turned out beautiful! Very nice!
Brilliant!
The seat covers would be popping though in a teal or turquoise.
❤️
Chill out the seats are fine not every chair needs fancy fabric
It looks great. My only suggestion would have been to recover the seats with a fabric. If you have children, it would be easy enough to replace if the fabric got stained...
The seats look great What’s the big deal?
Really great work. I refreshed my table and chairs and it was a lot of work. Like yours, it paid off. Yours is beautiful 😊
Beautifully done. You are great!
Looks like factory crap Maisons du Monde furniture now. Awesome.
You did a great job, table and chairs look lovely
Beautiful! Your attention to detail is worth the effort and time. You are a very patient ARTIST! ❤❤❤❤
Nice work it looks fantastic and can't beat that savings!
It looks great!
Great job!🥰 I would have changed the seats, but everything else looks nice!😊
Came out nice
Absolutely stunning
