I think you are more than capable of replacing the veneer. Tape off your keep sections and use a large square or ruler and cut along the edge with a very sharp blade. Use heat on it first and it will cut like butter and pull right up. Scrape away any excess glue (while keeping it warm) and then sand it smooth with 120 grit then 220 grit. Allow the table to acclimate to the air in the room for 48 hours before laying the laminate. Leave the laminate in the same room. Just remember that you remove it warm and lay it down at room temperature. It also helps to cut your piece of laminate ahead of time (oversize it by 1/4" all the way around) and allow it to lay flat for those 48 hours. Once you are ready to lay it, start in the middle, don't go edge to edge because you won't see shrinkage until it's too late. I know you'll do great, Natalee. Don't be scared
Thank you for the detailed instructions! I really appreciate the tips and your encouragement. I’ll definitely keep them in mind while working on the veneer replacement.
Right I was omg Natalie😮 prayed for you every step got a bit of anxiety watching so yes ma'am if you can climb the tall ladder you can veneer the table your more powerful than you know 💪
Natalee, you never cease to amaze me, just beautiful. Listening to your playlist make me think you have had way to many negative comments or something. Please, do not let the negativity of this world dim your beautiful soul. You have been a true inspiration to so many people. Do not let people steal your joy. Blessings to you and your family! ❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸
As far as the damaged table, I think the tablecloth over it is a great fix 😁 that's budget friendly 😊 of course if you already have the veneer then I say go for it 👍 I can't wait to see what you do!!!
Do the veneer. You already have it. You won't ruin the table. The miscreant who left the towel on the table already took care of the ruining. You basically have a carte blanche to do what you want. The only thing you could ruin is the small piece of veneer. Create on DIY Darling. ❤
I absolutely love everything you did! I’m not goanna lie, when you were on that ladder, my stomach got queasy. I’m afraid of heights and seriously was feeling it! Thank you for sharing all your fun ideas! Have a blessed day!💕
I’ve been doing the same decorating for fall, even though I live Florida also ,I’m a fall baby and need color to make me feel like I’m up north without dealing with the cold weather. The dining room is looking beautiful, and what ever you decide to do with the table ,will just come out beautiful
I love all that you did it transformed it so beautiful. You gave me some ideas how to do things simplified. I used to do my whole house, but hauling it all out is too hard with my Arthritis, but I'm watching you and there are some ways I can still do some things. Thank you for the ideas.
It turned out so lovely. The pumpkin decor is inspired. So beautiful. Those drapes!!! Goodness 20 feet! Wow. I’m almost ready to dig out the fall! Almost. 😊
Really nice video - thanks. I am not a fan of heights so you are very brave!! I like the way you finished the chairs seats and I LOVE those high back captain chairs. The finished table decor is very nice.
There’s loads of ‘how to repair veneer’ videos on RUclips, I’m sure it’s within your skill set and you have nothing to lose. If it doesn’t work out you can paint it or put a table runner down the centre. I think the table legs would look great black. I absolutely love the new upholstery on the chairs.
Hey if that was my table I would get a new one because I don’t have your amazing skills! At least not yet!! I know you could DIY it to be gorgeous with paint or fixing the veneer. I cannot really tell from the video but can you replace the top only? Maybe thrift for a little longer top to pair with your pretty base?? We did that once with an old table that had really bad legs. We framed in a base to the top and screwed on a new pedestal.
Natalie, you are truly amazing, you can do whatever you put your mind to. Your new touches to your DR look very nice. It is so nice to see Mr. Design helping you with your projects . Gods blessings on you and yours.
You can absolutely do the veneer or bondo and paint!!! You could also get another piece of the butcher block you used in your breakfast nook!!! That way you could make it a little larger as you mentioned buying a bigger table with a leaf! Whatever you decide will be amazing!! Janelle from Ohio
Love the makeover for fall. The drapes look amazing and I just love the pumpkin candlestick decor that you did. Your home is beautiful and you just keep on making it more homey as you go. 🥰
I’ve never been an animal print person but these just look expensive and beautiful. Love your taste missy🧡🧡🧡it would be fun to see you do the inlay on your table, but I know it’s a precision job , However if anybody can do it, I have faith in you❣️❣️❣️
Love this video so much! You are amazing and I love everything you do. The curtains look awesome and the dining room table is perfect! So cozy and inviting! Be careful climbing up so high! So glad hubby was right there for his girl! ❤🙏🏽🌹🌺🌹
Table suggestion - Several (maybe 10) years ago we redid a cabinet that was very dark walnut and I wanted it a light oak color. After what seemed like an eternity of sanding, I applied the stain and it awful. Very splotchy, darker in spots. We then purchased some 4 x 8 sheets of 1/4" oak and cover the entire cabinet and changed the trim. I stained it in the light oak and a clear coat. It turned out amazing and still looks fantastic. Regardless of which way you go, I know it will be great. Thanks for sharing all your ideas.
You always do a beautiful job. The pumpkin display on your table is amazing! Can’t wait to see what you do with your table. I think the inlay would be the way to go because that tabletop is gorgeous and would really be wonderful without the table cloth, IMO.
Hi, been watching you for many years and I really admire your inner and outer strength. I can tell you are an authentic person😊. Thanks so much for sharing and may God continue to bless this awesome channel.
No veneer! I think the best and easiest way to repair would be bondo and paint. And I LOVE the cheeta print on your chairs! Love the centerpiece too. It's all coming together!
Absolutely love the chair redo! They look marvelous and the curtains made a major change. Watching you is so inspiring, you can do it all! The pumpkin stands are such pretty fall decoration. Thanks for sharing! Nana Brenda
You're amazing Natalee! You could redo the table, but I think you need a bigger one in such a grand dining room. I adore your fall decorations too. I would never have thought to put pumpkins on candlesticks! So clever. Looking forward to your next video. Big fan!❤
I think you should try the veneer - you’re pretty good and you’re more powerful than you think! 😉 If you can’t make it work you can always scrape it out and do bondo.
We had a similar table issue and our patch jobs never looked right. In the end, we sanded it, primed, painted, and sealed it with premium products. Worked beautifully. So we did the same thing to everything else in our dining room. We were slightly scared because we had some vintage pieces but afterwards, looked like a shiny new car! It has lasted almost 25 years. However, I personally looove a humongous table and it looks like you have more than enough room for one!
I can’t vote on the table because I don’t know what would be best. You are one brave soul to go that high up in the ladder. Those old drapes had definitely outdone their time but the new ones look absolutely gorgeous. Your pumpkin DIYs turned out so beautifully and I had already thought about doing a couple like those. I love the cheetah print on your DR chairs. 😊❤😊🍁🍂🎃

@@designedtothenines of course! I'm glad if I can help.
NataLee go for it. I have all the confidence in you.@@designedtothenines
If the veneer doesn’t work out I think you could build a new top.
The room looks so beautiful.
If you can climb that ladder to remove, replace and steam the curtains you can do veneer!! You go girl!
Right I was omg Natalie😮 prayed for you every step got a bit of anxiety watching so yes ma'am if you can climb the tall ladder you can veneer the table your more powerful than you know 💪
You already have the veneer. Give it a try. Can't learn without doing it. Girl, you got this!
Thanks for the boost of confidence!
I would say give it a try with the veneer.
Do the veneer. If it doesn't work out, then paint the table.
Everything looks beautiful. I vote for a new larger table. The space calls for it.❤️
Yesss...paint the table black and cover the chairs with the cheetah prints. Dooo it girl. It's gonna work 😊
Natalee, you never cease to amaze me, just beautiful. Listening to your playlist make me think you have had way to many negative comments or something. Please, do not let the negativity of this world dim your beautiful soul. You have been a true inspiration to so many people. Do not let people steal your joy. Blessings to you and your family! ❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸
If you decide to go the bondo route with your table , try the "retique it kit" instead of painting...that way you get to keep the natural wood look!
Great idea!
Do it ! It’s a great product
I absolutely love the cheetah print on the chair seats, they are gorgeous!
Natalee, everything looks beautiful! Whatever you decide to do with your table it will be great! God bless you!
The pumpkin topiaries are gorgeous!!!!
You are gifted. You take a couple of candle holders and make two pieces of art out of them. 👏🏻
As far as the damaged table, I think the tablecloth over it is a great fix 😁 that's budget friendly 😊 of course if you already have the veneer then I say go for it 👍 I can't wait to see what you do!!!
Love your new drapes. Going to try doing the pumpkins with the candles.
Your experience as a floral designer really comes across! Those center pieces are awesome!! 👏🏼
New table❤

❤❤😂😊PS YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
Take a chisel and peel away a little more of the veneer. Then, you have more of a rectangle shape to insert. Simplify the process. 👍
Do the veneer Natalee, I have every faith in you. Xx
Absolutely beautiful!!
Love love love the pumpkins! But everything looks pretty!❤
Thank you! 🤗
Looks amazing! And I’m sure you’ll be successful with repairing the veneer on the table 🙂
I absolutely love everything you did! I’m not goanna lie, when you were on that ladder, my stomach got queasy. I’m afraid of heights and seriously was feeling it! Thank you for sharing all your fun ideas! Have a blessed day!💕
I thought I would feel more scared than I did, but I felt secure.
Beautiful. I held my breath when you were on the ladder. 😯

Looks amazing Natalee!!! You are just so talented
Thank you so much!!
Retique!! So glad you changed the curtains! I think you should paint the walls white or off white, and get a large black/cream diamond patterned rug 🤗
Definitely planning on painting walls… eventually, but wait until you see this next episode.😉
I adore you!!! You have inspired me for a few years now!!! keep on keeping on with your ideas and creations! ❤😊
Well, aren’t you just the sweetest?! Thanks for brightening my day. I’m glad that I can spend a little time with you each week.💕
