SALT DOUGH RECIPE:
Combine in a bowl:
2 cups all purpose flour (bleached flour will result in a whiter ornament)
1/2 cup fine salt
3/4 cup warm water
Mix well and knead until smooth. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut desired shapes. Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet at 200F until just dry to the touch. Don't let them start to brown. Cool completely before using.
CINNAMON DOUGH RECIPE:
This isn't much of a recipe, but here's what I did:
Put some ground cinnamon in a bowl (about half a little spice container). Add applesauce a teaspoonful at a time, mixing well until a dough forms. Dump mixture onto a lightly flour counter and knead until no longer sticky. Add a little more flour if needed, being sure to work it into the dough so there are no white streaks. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut desired shapes. Bake at 200F on a parchment lined baking sheet until just dry. Cool completely before using.
EASY ARTISAN BREAD RECIPE:
Combine in a bowl:
3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp active dry yeast
1.5 cups warm water
Cover loosely and set aside to rise for 2 hours.
Place your Dutch oven in the oven and preheat to 425F.
Dump out your risen dough onto a floured surface and kneed a few times, adding flour as needed, shaping into a ball. No scoring is necessary.
Place on parchment paper and [carefully!] place it into the Dutch oven. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake an additional 8-10 minutes until nicely browned. Cool and serve! That’s it!

Merry Belated Christmas Melissa,
I am a Pastor's daughter and i have always had simple decor and always will. I loved this video of your's and i hope to buy a small home in an okder part of town next summer. My Mom passed away a couple years ago this was the 3rd Christmas withiut her. I was hoping to buy out my brother and sister to stay residing in her home which eoukd have been the perfect home for me. 3 of my wishes my Mom's house akready had. A small closed in porch for my wiodworking and crafting in tge summer, a gas stove which i prefer tor making my breads and muffins from scratch and my soups and enough yard for a small veggie garden which i had already cultivated the last couple years of living with her. But, i was not given tge opportunity to buy it and for now I am renting in a small village built for tte WW2 soldiers to come home to. I have the vintage black/white tile floor in my bathroom. I found a shower curtain in the same black and white check fabric with a large wide ruffle in the top. I gently cut off tge ruffle and made it into a valance for the bathroom window. I have been sewing since I was 5 and i have been beading since I was 9.
When i move I hope to get a cat hopefully a younger adult cat. I grew up with Simiese cats and 2 black cats. Your cat looks so sweet.
Right now on top of my refrigerator i have one if my Mom's copper jello molds i just display. My Mom left ne ger china closet and her harvest table, her living room set and her bedroom set. I need great help with stirafe ideas living in such a small dwelling. I was unabke to get a larger place to live with elevators due to covid so I was blessed to find this. I am within 10 min of my Dad's so I pick him up for church on Sundays.
Your video is a breath of fresh air. Just last week a youtuber had the same Trader Joes had the same gingerbread house bags. I loved them but, they no longer have those bags. On ebay someone is selling each bag for $10 and I will do without those.
Please excuse the typos. I tried to catch them all. I have carpal tunnel really bad from work right now and it affects my fingers also.
Too much in this video to comment on but all WONDERFUL PROS.

Wrapping a gift in material is not only beautiful but so thoughtful for a person who loves to sew or craft. The wrapping becomes another gift itself. Everything you wrapped became an art form. Heck, I’m 61 and I wanted to get my dollies out and put them in that basket you transformed so beautifully. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s but now I want a paper bag. My Family also used paper bags for many things, especially wrapping our school books. For our school every year it was required to cover your school books. I love resourcefulness and thrifting ! You did a wonderful job with your projects. I so enjoy RUclips’rs who do these things because in my personal life I’m ridiculed and made fun of for being thrifty, but I don’t have debt and they do !
Gift wrap is something I would never buy, there is so much “garbage” that makes wonderful wrap and gift tags. I use 5, 10 and 25 lb flour and sugar bags for gift bags, some things come with a double bag with an inside bag that is plain brown. But the “Dakota Maid” or “white Lilly” flour sack is adorable if you ask me ! The cellophane inner bag from cereal or cake mix is also a cute gift bag stuffed with crinkly paper and string tied. Newspaper and the funny pages are nice for birthdays and other gifts. Your imagination can not only make things adorable but also save a lot of money ❤
