Thank you so much for sharing.
Good idea! Thanks!
Very good idea, I like it. Your method gave me the idea to use a low level wagon with a tilt bed. TY G. Packard.
J Werner your very welcome j werner, and thanks for commenting.
Gonna tackle this today!! What a great idea with the sled, well try it out!!
Have fun!
that is a good idea I would try to tie a few sleds together and take care of a whole line at a time
+Matthew Waggoner sure if you had several packed in the trailer.
Awesome :)
thanks
Hello George- just to clarify, is the rock under the deck also for weed control or is it for aesthetics, so the landscape fabric isn't seen? Thank you!
+Denise Smith
the fabric is to help with the weeds, but the rock also helps. as well as aesthetics .
How far apart do you put the staples when putting down the fabric?
generally 5-6'
What if you put the rock down after the posts and beam are in, before the joists. Then you can drive the bobcat right in and do it in 15 minutes.
doesn't work that way but thanks for the suggestion
That's to much like right 😂😂😂these hillbillies don't work smart...
Where can I find that weed fabric? I'm mlooking for something that does not allow air, water and sunlight to pass through. All the landscape fabrics seem to allow air and water to pass through. Here in South Florida we need something strong to prevent weeds and grass!
listen brother, i ship in my fabric from Wisconsin because Florida won't bring it in themselves Call my guy Jeff Soman at 715-627-4826 and ask him about the 4' fuzz back fabric. He's a good guy and he'll hook ya up.
be careful.. not sure about Florida but around here if you don't let the water get through you can create pools which are breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other undesirable bitey bugs.
Use a house wrap instead of weed fabric. Weed fabric sucks. Weeds always grow through. House wrap doesn't allow air to pass nor sunlight. Only use this if the ground you're covering is at a slope to allow proper drainage of water that may accumulate on top due to rain.
I am a disabled female 72 year old senior. I can't do this by myself. Who do I hire and about how much should I expect to pay? Is it charged by the square foot? Can I use it in place of mulch in the area around my foundation, too? When I was younger, I did it by myself. Now, I can't do anything. It's vert frustrating! The workmen can get under the deck by bending,, no need to crawl Help, please. I'm a retired teacher on pension, so cost is a big deal, too. Thank you. I wish someone told me this was needed YEARS ago when I was healthy!
Look up landscapers or handy men near you. Typically people charge around $55 an hour and up . Not by the square foot. I feel your pain brother, you can call my office and ask for me (George) and I will be glad to help you find someone to help you ok ? 715-350-1741
I told my idiot installer to use weed killer and black tarp. He did a half ass job and now I have weed coming through my lower deck.
go figure
