    Fabulous tips ❤

    Thank you for the info your video provided. In terms of a scroll saw, what I found makes a better scroll saw is the how th eupper arm works, The cheapest saw that has a preferred arm is the Dewalt scroll saw. In terms of blades, I suggest precision ground blades, they cut straight and don’t wander to the side. And for practicing, that is a perfect use for scraps left from old projects.

    I'm envious of your scroll saw. The level table with tilting arm looks like it makes bevel cuts much more enjoyable.

    Good tips, thanks! I haven't been scrolling long. I have a Proxxon DSH and was using the pinned blades it came with. But I recently got some pinless modified geometry blades and oh my the difference is incredible, they cut so much better and I have much better control.
    Another tip: don't try using a spiral blade until you are actually good at controlling where you're going. I decided to do my first practice with a spiral on several layers of stiff card. It was hilarious. Needs a different approach from using standard blades, you can't just reverse up like with a flat blade because it'll carry on ploughing backwards through your material 😂

      Yay! So glad you love the modified blades! Yea, spirals can be tricky! They have their uses, but I usually stick with the flat blades :). Thanks for watching!

      Hey l got the same scroll saw!! I also bought pegas modified geometry blades but my problem is the vibration!! I’m wondering if my wood table l attached it to isn’t heavy enough? What are you using as a base?

    Very helpful! Thank you. I’m looking to make a purchase, I’ve been looking at the Bauer from Harbor Freight. It has a 22” throat cut. I plan to use the scroll saw in conjunction with my Laser engraver/cutter. Thanks for your video…appreciate the tips!

    Good info. Thanks. Figured I’d try a scroll saw so I got one off Facebook. Got a craftsman, only problem it doesn’t come equipped with a saw dust blower, are there any after market add ons that you know of ? Thanks

    Thanks for the great introduction. I've just inherited all my Dad's tools, amongst which is a Fern FF400 Scroll Saw, I didn't know it was a scroll saw until I saw your video, many thanks. I'm cleaning it up and will get new blades etc. ps, love your accent.

    I am totally dying to hear what you think about CNC work. I’ve been getting more and more into my CNC. I love building things and I’m getting less focused on the tooling.

      I definitely respect CNC, I just don’t do it :). It’s probably a great business investment and can make some awesome things once you learn the software! I personally just love the scroll saw and creating that way :).

    What is your source for thin MDF? I can't find it anywhere including the big box stores and my favorite 3 thin board suppliers.

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  Год назад

      Yea, Lowes and Home Depot sadly stopped selling it in project panel sizes, but still sell it in giant sheets you can get cut down. That said, it’s not always the best quality. I have a local lumber store by me that carries it. You can also buy it is small sheet form from Amazon, though it’s more expensive that way. Hope that helps!

    Wow!
    That pluck you gave the blade is way up into the E string of the fiddle.
    That's seriously tight.
    Wish me luck.
    I have not a clue.

    The pitch needs more attention, as it is essential. I'm on blade number three atm, after two projects, turned up the volume way up to hear the sound yours made, but it seems a little too tight?

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  2 месяца назад +1

      It may vary based on the blade? If it cuts great, it can’t be wrong :).

      @WendellWoodworks 5 days later and I'm winging it through 4 cm of hardwood. Loving it.

    How much air does the blow compressor is supposed to blow out? I just got my pegas but it throw out very little air like barely even feel it. For some reason I feel in your videos it throws much more air could be wrong. Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be but I was wondering. I just tried it for the first time and seemed to me like it was very little air.

    • @WendellWoodworks
      @WendellWoodworks  10 месяцев назад

      It won't be a lot, but enough to blow off the fine dust so you can still see your line while scrolling. If it's not doing that there might be a problem...congrats on the pegas!! I hope you love it!

    best scroll saw is the Hegner-------far out classing the one you are showing-------I had a huge problem with defective blades that you are using and even though after many many months did I recieve replacement blades--------best ones are the German Precision blades ------they in my opinion work faster and leave a much cleaner cut--------and last a lot longer---------

    well i broke down and got a jet from home depot thinking it was a good saw and boy was i wrong,,,lol,,when you released the tension on top to thread the blade thru the wood for internal cuts,,the bottom bracket holding the blade just fell out,,,i never could get the bottom bracket to hold the blade in place as i was feeding it thru the hold in the wood,,,lol,,lession learned,,i guess i should have gotten the pegas to start with but i was scared that if something like this was wrong with the pegas it was mine,,,where i did return the jet to home depot,,,its kinda funny,,i have got 2 jet lathes and a 15 inch planner that is great,,,but i honestly would not give 100 dollars for the scroll saw,,,

      Yea, a lot of tools you can go cheap with. I use a lot of wen (sander/nailer/planer)…But it is crazy the difference between a cheap/more expensive scroll saw. It’s worth paying for!

      My Jet doesn't do that.
      Matter of fact I think the Jet and Pegasus are Nearly identical.
      The system that holds the blade certainly is.
      Most parts are interchangeable even.
