Glenn Frey did not want that people thought they were only a country californian band that is the reason why the took Joe Walsh into the band and he gave a touch of rock that Glenn was searching for the band
As precise as the Eagles are live, I believe this is the studio track over a live video performance. Promotional video, most likely. The Eagles were definitely the ones that perfected the Country-Rock fusion genre.
This is one of those song's that can take you back to a certain point in your life you wish you could go back to. Great reaction Rebeka!!
This is not a simple song, this is songwriting at its best!
How can you play an entire Eagles song with no pauses, no blurring of the video and not get strikes and RUclips blocking? Great song. Great vocals, great harmonies.
A bit autobiographical, they wrote about Hollywood's and the music industry's penchant for the next great thing. The new kid in town...everyone loves him(her) till someone new comes around. How profound can you get????
They were never country music, it was California rock/folk music
Man, that song takes me back. Just back to the states, small town basketball game with my parents, looking at everything and feeling completely lost, a stranger in a strange land.
Where’s the analysis? The lyrics tell a story. Eventually every big thing goes away. A great line at the very end “everybody’s talking like the New Kid in Town, everybody’s walking like the New Kid in Town”.
This is really a perfect song. I loved the Eagles since the 70’s. I have seen them in concert 11 times. They never disappoint!

RIP Randy Meister Bassist for the Eagles 1946-2023😢, may you find peace 🕊️ in Heaven that you could not find here on earth. Randy Meister was one of my influences on becoming a bassist.
Rebeka, I've seen them in concert, and every note, every harmony is PERFECT in concert. They are absolute professionals.
This was my Dads Favorite Song! I played it for him at his request the Day before he died while he was laying on his Death Bed.....such a special song to me !
