RIP Randy Meisner. One of the most beautiful voices in music. You will be missed.
The great thing is all the Eagles fans knew he was a nervous singer, when he was the lead. Every concert he always got the biggest cheer of the night for this song.
I saw him sing this when he was back with Poco. Won backstage passes! My wife had just returned from the Persian Gulf with her wrist in a cast. He was so happy to sign it!
RIP Randy. Thanks for music, man.
This is a great example of Masterclass musicianship. Any song by The Eagles is going to be legendary. Their Harmony is among the best ever.
I'd argue that TheBeach Boys had better harmony. But, I do like The Eagles better.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 Love the beach boys. I still believe The Eagles are comparable to The Statler Brothers and The Oakridge Boys.
I think it's preference. Great songwriters also.
It's the lead vocals that make this legendary
Perfect description for this song. Masterclass in musicianship!!!
I love the Orange tang as a prop. Almost like a flower...but different.
One thing I love about The Eagles, Every member has a microphone. Every single person in the band sings in some capacity and they all have such incredible harmony. It's amazing.
"Seven Bridges Road"! amazing harmonies!
@@lll9416 YESSSS!
@@lll9416 best rock harmony that I can think of actually. Good call. 👍
Only one eagle can sing this songs lead
@@allensaunders449 .. yes indeed! There can be only one …
The Eagles are simply one of the greatest rock bands in history! The superior harmonies and musicianship is the result of being just plain talented.
What a heavenly voice!
Hands down Randy had the best voice in the Eagles, He'll be missed.
Without Randy it wasn't the Eagles; it was the Frey-Henley Band. And I think deep down they knew that. There was no justifiable reason for getting rid of him.
Well, he didn't have the "best" voice in the band, they all could sing at their own pitch but Randy could hit the high notes that the crowd loved... Frey was a control freak, Meisner was losing the high notes due to his health failing at the time and that's what caused the friction in the band. Randy did the best thing for his own personal wellfare and left..!@@SingleTax
Just lost Randy Meisner on Thursday. Bass Player and Singer of this Song. RIP
I love the look Joe Walsh gives the camera toward the end of the song. Some of the band had given Randy a hard time about his singing of this song - but he flat killed it in this version. Joe noticed and confirmed it.
The blowup was because Randy wanted to give his vocal cords a rest for one show and Frey was pissed.
But looking at Glen at the piano when Randy hits the high note.....Glen loved his singing and didn't ever want Randy to take a break. Glen was right, people came just to hear Randy
Joe’s look was like “if you liked that, just wait for what Randy is about to do……”. He knew Randy was about to give the crowd(and all of us watching in 2024) what they came to hear.
I was fortunate to see them in Melbourne Australia in 1976, and Randy Meisner singing this was a spiritual experience. His voice live surpassed the records and the whole crowd knew every word. Sublime
I regret never getting to hear him sing this. I am of the opinion that no one should sing it but him, no one can sing it better than him.
But you just heard him sing it lol, [you mean live right?]
@@BeeBumper yep
My wife and I have seen the 8 times including '75,'76, 77 through 2023. I have all the ticket stubs. Well 2023 was electronic tickets but I have a picture of that one. Someone suggested that next time call the tickets in to "will call" and you get a paper ticket when you get there. I haven't tested that suggestion yet.
@@BeeBumper I’ve never heard him sing it live. I didn’t get to see The Eagles for the first time ‘till right before they broke up.
I was fortunate enough to see the Eagles live in Savannah Georgia in June of 1977.
When Randy hit those ear piercing high notes at the end of this song, girls had tears streaming down their faces and I could swear glass shattered all the way down on Riverstreet
Now I fully understand why I named my daughter Savannah!
I’ve seen them 3 times, but unfortunately never got to see Randy Meisner play with them. He was a gem of a musician and vocalist. I went to the kickoff of their “the long goodbye tour” with Steely Dan this past Friday at Madison Square garden and they dedicated this song to Randy. There was not a dry eye in the house. They also dedicated a song to Jimmy Buffet. I know they’ve said “this is our last tour” before, but this really seems to be it. They’re all in their 70’s. It feels like the end of an era 😔. I went with my dad who saw them multiple times in the 70’s, then 3 more times after I was born (the three shows I’ve gone to were with him), and he kept commenting “how are there so many old people in here, that means I’M old now! I may be next!!” 😭 thanks dad lmfao.
I'm originally from Savanah and have a daughter named Savanah. I saw them in NC in '77.
This is a song where people would be singing along and waving around their lighters. Wonderful harmonies.
Just saw this. I was at this concert a week later in 1977.Great band and song! I paid $8.50 to see them back then!
I wouldn't have been able to scream or anything. Randy's beautiful voice would have held me in a trance! ❤😂😢
Randy you have been bringing tears to eyes and joy to my heart for decades.
Good reaction video because you didn't keep stopping the video. Songs need to be heard in their entirety and then commented on. Great job ladies. P.S. African women are so beautiful.
My mom's favorite Eagles song. She passed but this song always makes me think of her. It's such a BEAUTIFUL song, sung by a heavenly voice, Randy Meisner.
RIP Randy class act
great reaction to the greatest band ever
EVER🐐
How wonderful he still lives through new discoveries like this. We all still love you, Randy.❤
He really stressed over performing this due to the vocal range it required. It is why they are smiling at him at the end and giving him thumbs up, to build his confidence. It is one thing to do it studio, a whole other live. He slays it though. BTW you two are downright beautiful.
I appreciate anyone who introduces their friends to great music, and the Eagles are great music.
I loved the songs Randy sang. Try and love again was my favorite he sang while in the Eagles.
My favorite eagles song. Meisner could really sing. This was usually the last song they would sing in a concert.
I absolutely love Randy's voice.
I've loved the Eagles since I was a child. And this song is my funeral song!! 'Take it to the limit one more time... ✌
My funeral song is Jackson Browne For a Dancer.
The girls love this because Randy got SOUL!!!
Good reaction!!! And thank you for one of my favorite Eagles songs. I wish Randy Meisner good health and long life as he wrote this song and performed his beautiful vocals. I love the song you wrote.
After he left the Eagles, Meisner did a couple of solo albums. I wore at least one copy out.
@@brucecsnell Is it the album "One More Song"? Ours is worn out too.
Yep, I have that one, also!! Also worn out.
Greatness right here
Rest In Peace Randy Meisner
This is live, no auto-tune. No studio effects. Talent.
Love Randy Meiser Randy has an amazing voice wish Randy and family happiness and good health take care I still listen to your music every day Randy you have a beautiful soul
I grew up listening to these great artists!
I love how much you appreciate this music and this stunning performance. RIP Randy Meisner ❤
Randy melting hearts, 45 years later.
Love your reaction - Randy is amazing and you ladies are gorgeous .
Randy Meisner's voice just stands out on this one. Randy passed away July 26th just a few days ago.
It is just amazing how it appears so effortlessly to them. Each guy had a great voice, and is a great musician, just superb.
awesome taste in music "pretty ladies" ....
Beautiful song. Beautiful reactions. I am older now. Remember listening lying with a woman who might have loved me, I never knew. God bless you.
Aside from the song in total you can hear the crowd at the end when Randy hits that high note. It's what they were waiting for. ;0)
And sadly we just lost Randy Meisner, an underrated member of the Eagles.
according to Randy Meisner, this song is meant to point to a larger, philosophical idea. Or as he explained it, the phrase “take it to the limit one more time” is an encouragement towards persistent effort. He’s basically saying that even if a person is content with his or her experiences and achievements, they should still push themselves to reach an even higher goal.
He was thinking of a woman who may have loved him but he never knew.......so, it seems he was with her once and wanted to take it to the limit with her one more time.
thank you ladies for keeping the wonderful music of "yesteryear" alive... keep spreading the joy!
RIP Randy Meisner. Straight up Rock God.
Great harmonies!
Beautiful reaction.
This was a great memory of slow couple skate at the skating rink. Way back in the day. Awesome song. Thank you for the great memories. 😃❤️🇺🇸
This was the music of the 1970s I was a teen in the 70s I would not have wanted to change ANY THIG ,,,They were fantastic years
My favourite band ever
Everyone needs to see & hear this before it's taken down AGAIN. EPIC PERFECTION by Randy. Watch Joe's look at the camera saying " just wait " " it gets better!"
RIP Randy Meisner.
He started to hate performing that song because as he got older it was harder and harder to hit that high note at the end
"I was thinkin' 'bout a woman who might've loved me, and I never knew. " Incredible lyrics.
Very true...
Randy Meisner! One of the best vocalists ever.
Randy Meisner his voice is the best in rockhistory...
Thanks for the memories Randy.
Good reaction to one of my favorite not only songs, but preferences of it. Last dance at my wedding. Thank you for this video!
The Eagles wanted a big soulful song in the style of “If You Don’t Know me By Now”
The amazing Randy Meissner. The ONLY one to do this song so masterfully.
Randy was so shy
Randy Meisner was a underrated singer and bassist, he was fired from the Eagles for a backstage fight and conflicts with Glenn Frye and Don Henley. He wanted to have a more creative process in the band and the director of the band, and a big role on vocals. RIP Randy Meister 1946 - 2023
One of the greatest bands ever.
First concert
EAGLES , HEART, LITTLE RIVER BAND..
WAS 8 YRS OLD, MY Mom's new boyfriend scored tickets and told me I could go and bring two friends, so I got a lady I babysit for to bring us and brought another friend.
That same bf that became my step dad for life, was security after the air force for Motown and Arista records.
He took me to all the "hotel bar tours" Motown and Arista artists did in the 70s and 80s..
Herb Reed sang 16 candles to me on my 14th birthday with Regina Coco.
They had this little white girl come to the stage.
He sent me to so many concerts at Hampton Club Casino. I can't even remember all of them.
One time he came home with Tito Puentes/ Celia Cruz/ Johnny Ventura/Gran Combo.
Donna Summer, Chilites, Stylistics, Commodors, Barry White,Smokey Robinson, some country artists, some Funk bands, Rick James/fire and ice/
But Eagles will always be my FIRST.
haven't been to a concert in 15 years, but going to see Usher in Boston with my oldest Daughter, I took her to 50cent Rock the Mic Tour with 21 of her friends from Brunswick Maine to Foxboro Ma.
Many of those artists will be there at Ushers.
Superbowl halftime show was like My CHILDHOOD too, not just hers, I gave her Lime Wire, lol and told her to go back in time.
I don't know where on the planet you are, beautiful young ladies.
No matter what going on in 24. We have 70 years of the best music since Chopin, Tykovsky, and Beethoven .. LITTERALLY There has not been a straight run for 70 years since then.
It's like telling someone you are not living close to, to go out and look at the same moon I am looking at,
You are there, we are all over, but we could be listening to the same songs at the same time.. ❤
Check out Poco the band he was in "Call it love" "Heart of the night" "Crazy love" "What do people know"
Also “Keep on Tryin’” and Rose of Cimmaron
They are part of my Holy Trinity of music! The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beatles, Eagles, Steely Dan?
I almost died at a Led Zeplin concert in 1973. Almost crushed to death. Also, they sounded NOTHING like their recordings! REALLY bad. So, I haven't liked them since. I didn't really enjoy the Beatles much either. How about the ROLLING Stones? Or maybe early Elvis??
I never met randy but i kicked it with the eagles thousands of times from 1986 to the present day i love them there my all time favorite band i don't drink anymore but i do wish i had a dollar for every beer ive drank listening to them lol
I love that song and I love the Eagles. Great song choice!
You two are so adorable and beautiful. Great reaction to this iconic song. I'm usually a firm believer that reactions are best done the first time with studio recordings most of the time... but this song is one of the exceptions. Vocalist Randy Meisner takes this song to another level in live recordings. It gives me goosebumps still, even though I've heard this song many times. I also love rock ballads in 3/4 time, which are rare (most are in 4/4). For another rock ballad in 3/4 time, the song "Wish You Were There" by REO Speedwagon is a great example.
If you liked it with Randy Meisner Singing...check out some of his solo work
Loved his solo albums after he left The Eagles. Amazing singer songwriter.
As Tina turner said simply the best.❤️❤️❤️
Nice to see two young gals enjoy iconic music
4:36 Joe Walsh be like "Randy's got this, watch him nail it."
The Eagles are legends.
Awesome, that was Randy Meisner on lead vocals. The Eagles were one of the greatest groups of the 70s. I know because I was there
I was in the concert biz, production, back in the day & actually got to work the Eagles numerous times. Once at a stadium show, when Joe Walsh was in and out he showed up. He brought his softball team with him, dressed in uniforms. We had to distribute a bunch more backstage passes. ;0)
I watch this full concert of the eagles live in 77 way to much on shrooms. What a way to experience the music and this live concert is right up there with the best live concerts of all time.🍄
The song was beautiful as you are. Thank you for sympathetic reactions, By the way, both of you look so awesome. Take care ladies, my name is Pierre from Montreal , Quebec, Canada.
Two beautiful ladies😘
Epic song from the Eagles.
Girls back then (70's) loved this song and especially Randy Meisner singing it. That love affair goes on till this day. For good reason...
I will see them again in Arizona March 1, 2023. Nothing would be better than Don Felder, or Randy Meisner playing again.
Glen Frey said this was his wife's favorite song. She called it the credit card song.
If you like the singer, Randy Meisner, listen to "Try and Love Again."
One more time........☝️
I always thought that the eagles were hotel California but as I got to know the group little by little I realized that they have great songs. Thank you for reacting this great song. By the way, the girl in the purple blouse, I find her so pretty, I don't know why hehehe
The eagles ! You can’t get no better band than that because I just love their music !❤
You’ve figured out the perfect formula for reactions, because I love both of you angels
One of the best all time rock bands
beautiful girl with beautiful song
It was great listening to the Eagles with you two Beautiful Ladies !
Great memories of long drives up to Wyoming, Cowboy bars and good whisky.
My Randy Meisner RIP
Wonderful reaction sisters! Much love! ❤
Genius!
Enjoy learning their music.
Randy miesner baby!!!!!!
I lived in Randy's hometown of Scottsbluff Nebraska and while working in a radio station there had the opportunity to see his gold record for Hotel California and his first wife Jenny who had a small gift shop there. It seems like a thousand years ago and he had so many tragedies in his life and he was such a quiet kind hearted soul that it makes me sad for him whenever I hear this song. And he was so quick to forgive Frey and Henley when they treated him so badly and unkind. Love to Randy. And he co-wrote this song by the way and nobody else will ever do justice to it with his God given voice.
Thank you for sharing this... RIP Randy.
Great reaction! Thank you!
You girls are great, love your analysis of the song,I'm practicing this song at the moment for a tribute concert in July
My God -- you two are so beautiful I had a hard time concentrating on the song.
Amazing, wonderful song......thanks for sharing. I won't forget this song, for sure.
Peace.
Out.
.
Their harmonies were faultless
