Love, love, love this song and Timothy B. Schmit’s gorgeous vocals!
Absolutely perfect, beautiful vocals by Timothy! The simple but lovely music allows him to shine right through. Not to mention the top notch harmonies (as always)! This has always been one of the Eagles' best.
I love it too!
1000%👍👍👍
Best American band hands down.😮
His voice is gold! So smooth!!
My favorite Eagles song
Same. I loved it since it first came out.
Mine too!
My favorite too
The lead singer in this song also wrote it. The rule with the Eagles was, you wrote it, you sing it, and it's yours. So he got full credit for this song. If you watch him in the video you can see the tears in his eyes because he was so happy to have his first ever song....and it was a hit!
I love when I go to the comments and learn stuff. ❤❤❤
I believe that Hotel California was written by Don Felder and he was not able to perform (which he very much wanted to).
@@robjohnson5872 Lyrics by Glenn Frye, music by Don Henley and Don Felder.
The man’s name is Timothy B Schmidt.
@@Mainecoonlady. and he also was in Poco
If I could only listen to one group for the rest of my life, it would be the Eagles.
Ditto
I'd beg for two, The Eagles and Pink Floyd!!
Absolutely!!!! My favorite music act !!! EVER!!!!!
I second Pink Floyd but I have to add the Beatles
They are a first class band, making hit after hit.
Man, the eagles know how to kickass and always have !!👍👍🤟🤟⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘❤🥰 RIP Glenn. You are greatly missed
I went to one of their “Hell Freezes Over” tour concerts. It was Glenn’s birthday, got to sing him Happy Birthday at the top of my lungs with 30k+ other fans, it was great. Sad when he passed too young, but it felt like a moment just for him, and I’ll always remember that.
My parents used to run a country inn in Connecticut with fine dining about an hour and a half outside of NYC. One day in the mid 80's MTV was on (back when people still watched it for the music videos) and they played the video "The Heat Is On" from the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. My mother looks up, squints, and goes "He looks just like Mr. Frey!" My jaw dropped and I said, "What did you just say?!" My mom goes "He looks just like the Mr. Frey who came in for lunch the other day. Such a nice man!" She had no idea.
One of my favorite tunes by the Eagles. The song truly soared!
I'm so happy you guys are getting to enjoy the Eagles music.
My favorite was, "One of these nights".
I remember when it came out in the early 70s.
🔥
Still my fav and has been since I was about 6. Out of all their great songs, its still #1 for me.
@@ExperienceEric I honestly don't think they created one bad song. All the music they created is spot on.
There were so many amazing bands, and music they've made throughout the years.
I do not believe a lot of people could have survived this world without it, myself included.
I remember too. It’s still so amazing to listen to their music today.
This is still a favorite Eagles song. If that’s even possible with as many hits they have blessed us with.
Just glad I was along for the ride.
I saw them at MSG in 2020; they still, sound great!
@@Mona.555 Absolutely!
I can not imagine attempting to maneuver in this world, as dark as it can become, without the amazing gift of music to guide us through the difficult times, until light returns.
You can never go wrong with the Eagles. They're magic in a bottle.
Timeless.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite Eagles song!! It takes you somewhere else!!🎶❤🎶
I grew up listening to this song. This is my mom's favorite Eagles song. She said her friends used to make fun of her listening to white folks' music, but she loved music PERIOD! Just because she lived in South Central Ca and went to school in Compton, Ca. She said it just made her better because she was more open to everything. So with that said, the Eagles are one of our favorite bands. And I can't tell you why lol!
Timothy B. Schmit sings this one and co-wrote it. Interesting note: Timothy replaced Randy Meisner as Eagles bassist and had previously replaced Randy when Randy left Poco.
Poco was like a farm team for the Eagles.
@@susanaltman5134 I saw Poco in concert in the early 70s. Timothy was great then too!
We just lost Randy a couple months ago. May him and Glenn jam together in Heaven
@@colleenross8752 And bury the hatchet.
Decades after this song was first aired, and it STILL gives me chills. Timothy's vocals are magical.
One of the greatest songs ever written. I am glad you all had such a positive reaction to this. Don Felder on lead guitar created magic, and Timothy on vocals was brilliant. An iconic song
Don Felder's guitar solo is such an exquisite piece of music. Masterpiece.
My #1 guitar solo of all time. So simple yet so emotional so beautiful so heavenly so musical. I can't listen to it enough.
when its fading out, you hold onto the little licks he's repeating while they're getting quieter and quieter. understated but elegant.
Except on the album it was actually glen fry that plays it
My favorite slow solo. Thanks, Don Felder, He holds his guitar like a man would hold a woman.
@@jasonmgomez I adore the outro of this song. That little inversion of the lick he does is magical.
I'm old now, but always shocked when I see someone listen to the Eagles for the first time. Your reactions were priceless! The Eagles are magical indeed!
Eagles was one of those bands that didn't have a bad song and had 3 singers! They have a huge catalog.
So true!
They had 4 singers! Don’t forget about Joe Walsh!
Just saw them a few days ago and they had five different leads ... Timothy, Henley, Walsh, Deacon Frey and Vince Gill. They were all wonderful!
One of my fav Eagles songs. Love Timothy B. voice.
PURE Talent... They could do nothing wrong! What a gift and a joy it was to grow up listening to their music on the radio!!
Don Felders guitar solo still one of my favorites of all time.
It blows my mind that Don and Glenn could replace incredibly talented guys like Don Felder and Randy Meisner and still roll on making hit after hit.
EAGLES! I’m my top 5 bands of all time! Another great one of theirs! 💝💙✨
This is why we stood in line for hours to buy tickets for Eagles concerts.
Don Felder is the greatest guitar player ever. Nobody can play like he does.
I love this one. Timothy joined the Eagles after Randy left.
One of my all-time favorites, just a beautiful song, and Timothy B Schmit has the most beautiful voice❤
Timothy B. Schmit... his vocals are nothing less than mesmerizing. I have seen several versions of this song... BUT not this version. Thank you so much for reacting to it. Take care.
Such a beautiful song Timmy Schmidt has such a gentle voice. The guitar playing is good!
No one adds more to a song in a complimentary way with his guitar than Don Felder
One of my favorite Eagles songs.
I cant tell you why !!
The EAGLES, they have always been my go to music!
We should all be so lucky to have experienced the Eagles.
LOVE them, love y'all too!
This was my first husband and my song. Can't stand him, but still one if my favorite songs. Timothy B Schmit sang this to perfection!
I saw them live a week ago. They played this song and it sounds just as good live now as it did in the studio then.
Its simply magical
Yes! Just saw them in Lexington Ky.
The bass line on this song is so beautiful and melodic...which he plays while singing. Crazy.
You guys reacted to my favorite Eagles song. So glad you enjoyed it.❤❤
Classic by the EAGLES!! Back in the day where my city pretty much had 1 radio station for all genres. I heard songs and learned of some great artist from all genres. As I kid I learned that music had no boundaries....It's able to transcend....it's only limitations are in the mind of the unwilling.
The Eagles never disappoint!
The Eagles in my opinion are the greatest band! Everyone in the band could sing lead. Such talented musicians!
YES ITS MAGIC ,,,NO AUTO TUNE !!!!!! REAL VOICES
The Eagles sound great live. This song was done in one take.
This is one of my favorite Eagles songs, it's so beautiful.
One of the greatest American rock bands EVER! All of their songs are just wonderful!
One of the best songs ever! It is magic!
The vocals cease, but the music continues and the haunting emotion of the lyrics somehow becomes concentrated even though unvoiced. It's a sort of musical magic that seems peculiar to this song. It just gets under the skin
Music before were so good you can almost taste it. They don't make these type of mysic anymore today and im sad. Im born 1995 and im 28 now but i would say music before are timeless and exquisitely written. The voices are also out of this world.
Beautiful song outstanding vocals ❤️
Timothy B Schmidt. My favorite eagle…. ❤️
If I was on my death bed and could listen to one last song before I check out, this would be the one. The guitar solo is technically simple but musically, it's from another dimension where angels live.
Mine too! Too good
❤
Shawn and Mel - I've been watching your reaction video's since the first day. You bring so much joy and love into people's hearts. Thank you for all your hard work to make this world a little brighter in these dark times. Your fans love you. Keep up the amazing work, you are greatly appreciated.
Oh yes. I completely agree. It is so wonderful to know that so many love this music as much as I do! Talk about bringing people together!!
Probably one of my favorite Eagles songs ever❤
The Eagles Greatest Hits is the biggest selling album of the 20th century -- and you can see why. They're also the soundtrack of high school for me. Check out "The Best of My Love"... one of the best songs of the 20th century in my opinion.
Sung beautifully by bass player Timothy B Schmidt. GREAT dance song with my lady.
I think this is such a beautiful song, goosebumps all over, every time hearing this. 🎶🎶🎶❤️
Of all the great Eagles songs, this one has always been my favorite. Smooth groove.
One of my all time favorite songs ❤. The voices and the guitar in this song send my soul to another place ❤
I agree
Not too many bass players writing songs and singing them. Love this song! The Eagles are so talented. They all play multiple instruments and are singer/songwriters.
Timothy B. Schmidt. Bass and vocals. One of the best Eagles songs.
I have loved the Eagles since forever and this has to be my favourite song of theirs ❤ the kind of song you can just close your eyes to and get taken somewhere you don't want to come back from ❤ what a great voice Tim Schmidt (bassist) who took the lead vocals in this song has 🎵🎶🎧
My favorite song by the Eagles. My son actually got me tickets to a concert in 2018 and I got to see them for the first time and it was the best birthday present ever. I also like One Of These Nights, please listen to it if you get a chance.
I remember you reacting to this song before. I can never get enough of it! One of my absolute favorites from the Eagles.🥰
"Schmit describes the song as "loosely based on my own experiences."[7] Schmit said: "I had some writing sessions with Don and Glenn and I threw out a bunch of my ideas and that one [for "I Can't Tell You Why"] stuck. I had [composed] a pretty good part of it, not a huge part but enough for them to think 'That could be good' and go with it. So Don, Glenn and I finished it over a few all night sessions."[8] He also said, "When it was being developed in the studio...I knew it was a great song. I [thought] 'Yes! This is an amazing debut for me.' When we finally mixed it, we had a little listening party at the studio. As people were hearing it, Don turned to me and said, 'There's your first hit.'""
Don, Fingers Felder’s guitar solo is everything. ❤️
I swear, it makes the entire song for me.
I have to stop & listen to this entire song any time I hear it playing...one of their best!
This is real music ❤❤❤ love the Eaglas
The Eagles are the most successful band in pretty much the whole world. They have 2 albums in the top 5 best sellers in history! This song is from '79 The Long Run. The other 2 is Hotel California and greatest hits album. They were the band playing in my head in the 70s. In '79 it was over, but they got back together in the late 90s! I finally got to see them in concert in '03! It was great! Nice reaction!
This video is usually blocked but I can't tell you why.🤣
This song is a gem....Probably my favorite Eagles song but their music spans so much it is hard to say for sure.
Absolutely takes Me back ..... Love this Song , Tim's Voice is unique. Always will Love The Eagles".💞✌️💫
I love The Eagles! Their music, voices just spoke to me! They're my all time favorite band. The 70s were magical.
They don't have a bad song!
Timothy B Schmit is one of the most underrated musicians period. The Eagles plucked him out of Poco and then he also sung background vocals for Firefall’s “Just Remember I Love You”. He’s just a good dude too. The Eagles were going through other band member turmoil and he was just happy to be there wondering what all the fuss was about. The problem was The Eagles just had too much talent on one team. It basically imploded because of big egos not long after but you know, money can eventually bring you back together…
Timothy B. Schmidt. May be my favorite Eagle. He seems so uncomplicated. What a talent they found when he signed on after some changes to the group. Beautiful song.
This is my favorite Eagles song. So good.
This song has such a beautiful groove to it! I love it! It’s always been one of my favorite Eagles songs ❤️
I love the Eagles! They were great performers and great songwriters! So much talent in this band! ❤❤
Thank you for this song from the Eagles. Made my Monday. You guys rock. Thank you again. Eagles have Beautiful messages to their music, and I definitely can relate.
And the other six also
Yes it's nice to have grown up heating this music on the radio. A whole mood could change just by listening. I'm very thankful to all our musicians. They put love for us into their music.
What a smash hit this song is.. If memory serves the Eagles are the only group to score number one hits on the country, rock, and r&b charts.. What a group of stellar musicians, never crowding each other.. Timeless songs, unprecedented lyrics, the vocal harmonies are masterful.. R.I.P. Timothy B. Schmit, your vocals, ethereal..
Enjoyed your reactions to this epic masterpiece of soulfulness..
You are so right...the Eagles give you magic..love, love, love them.
Magic is the exact right definition for The Eagles talent and music. Hard to touch them collectively, like here, but also individually in whatever they created.💖
Lord only knows how many babies were made as a result of this song. 😂🤣👍
Eagles are one of those bands that take a place in your soul and never leaves !!!!
Tim Schmidt creating and singing this song is the equivalent to the guy who bats last hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the World Series.
More Eagles!!!!!!!! Life in the fast lane-----One of these nights are AWESome
True Classic. Me personally I think they're the greatest American rock band. 🎹🎼🎵
He almost has a Smokey Robinson type feel to his voice. And when the band comes in to back him up on the chorus. It actually to me and this is the first time I've actually realized it. It sounded a little like Smokey Robinson and the miracles. On the vocals anyway. Take care stay safe and be well.
Not only individually brilliant but as a band they paid attention to detail.
The Eagles poached Bass player Timothy Schmidt from a band that toured with them, Poco. Schmidt wrote this song and Glen Frey and Don Henley added their touches before recording it. When the album was finished they had kind of a preview/listening session at the studio and when Henley saw people's reaction to this song he turned to Schmidt and said "There's your first hit"
yeah...thats an amazing song.
Aside from Journey this is, IMO, America's greatest rock band. Try "Take It To The Limit", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Witchy Woman", "New Kid In Town", "Lyin' Eyes", and "Take It Easy" next.
The Eagles were a GREAT band, really good live, and the band members were individually so talented. LOVE this song.
This song reminds me of my husband. I lost him in 1979. I had two kids. He would be so proud. I have a great life. The kids are wonderful beautiful adults. He'd love his grandson.
My all time favorite group. There music is timeless. Members of the band who had outstanding solo careers are Don Henley (the drummer), Glenn Fry (guitar) and Joe Walsh (crazy guitar). Those guys are worth solo reactions, especially Joe. Great reaction as usual and I love how yall love them as much as the rest of us!
This is my favorite Song by Timothy Schmidt…he just added so much to the Eagles when he joined them.
Love will keep us alive is my favorite Eagles song, his vocals are exquisite ❤
COME ON GUYS. I LOVE ALL OF THESE BANDS AS A 66 YEAR OLD MUSIC LOVER!!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE HAS TO BE CCR BAR NONE. PERIOD!!!!!!!!! WITH THAT BEING SAID MY #1 SONG OF ALL TIME IS STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN NO DOUBT..................
I got the chills on this song.
Top 5 all time rock ballads for me. Excellent reaction guys!!!
This song has so much soul in it ! One of my favorite Eagles songs! Have a great week S&M ! I had to leave because I'm disabled, and on a lot of meds every day. No harm, no foul. Was just tired...Peace, love and all that's good in life !
Love your profile photo
They simply don't make music like this anymore, and we as a society so need to get back to this style of music
You are both beautiful... I listened to this song since the early 70s... I enjoy it so much to watch your reactions to music I took for granted all those years ago.
I can tell you got great taste for really great music judging by your reaction. This band is so overwhelmed with talent. Reminds me of the band Chicago. 👍
Eagles feature an awesome 5 part harmony, amazing ability to write hit music. Glen Fry will truly be missed
