I would recommend after cleaning them spray them with silicone or battery and terminal protectant to keep them from corroding again that’s what I did with mine
I have a customer with a failed internal tcm ground. Checked harness ground is good. Attached wire from harness to case. Has communication now. Initial complaint was a 3000 rpm idle. Tested by putting a jumper wire to the tcm case to body ground, and faults disappeared😊
my SS isn't getting power to the starter wire and I'm thinking part of it could be one of the grounds? I've cleaned and assembled them all. No starter click or starter relay slick, swapped and tested all fuses and relays and I'm at a lost. I fixed the TCM issue but still no crank etc
I have been dealing with this myself. Back in January I changed the Vss and that fixed it then. However it is back now again I have cleaned all the grounds, checked fuses etc. The tcm does not look fried so I am kinda stuck
I have had this same issue, What we found . Was their was a short in the o2 sensor . So look for a short if you continue to have this issue 07 cobalt lt
@@deannaguin8096 thanks for the reply. correct me if I am wrong O2 sensors. how are they grounded to the frame. They only have a connector where you plug them in?
@@dancoles1036Have you tried looking at the grounds that connect to the front of the trans? They get completely corroded and start throwing codes. I have an 09 Cobalt and this fixed my issue.
Having this same issue with my 2014 Chevy Malibu. Same code U0101. Dealerships says I need a new transmission but I call BS because the TCM connection keeps going in an out.
Thank you god bless you I fixed it with your help
Thanks man. This fix mi wife’s car.
Really? What kind of car? Did her n codes come off immediately? Or did she have to drive it a bit?

Man I wish I could understand this lol. How do you know which wire to disconnect from the harness? And what case?

Don’t ground it on the TCM will blow circuit and cause more problems just learned that about 20min ago

Your best bet my friend is to order a new TCM computer. It's real easy to install by yourself.

Would please explain what do you mean a short on O2 sensor?
@@sar9907 The wire coming down 2 the sensor had a open spot that would cause it to short out when it grounded out on the frame

@@sar9907 correct but the wire that connects it if it has a bare spot it can ground out on the frame or engine causing a short
I'm going through same thing on 2014 Chevy Cruze ugh 😩 I can't wait to try this tomorrow
I have same problem with my chevy cruze 2014, have you ended up fixing it?
Did you try it? How did it turn out for you?
...curious, good effort tracing out ground connections, not an easy job.
Does replacing the tcm a useful solution? Mines doesn’t look bad but I’ve tried grounding the wires and still nothing
I tried replacing TCM. Tried grounding hack. Same issue. Probably bad wires.

Check your fuse box
Why dident you record you doing it? So you could actually show the grounds
You also have one over valve cover right side
