Hey i was trying to follow along with testing the harness. It seems like my connector is upside down from yours. If my wires from the harness is on the bottom on the connector, my #1 pin is on the bottom right column. But once i figured that out all the test came out good. I have a 2011 sierra 2500 duramax. Maybe they changed it around through the years. Anyway thanks for the video looks like i need a tcm.
DO NOT use a big test light like I did in your connector pins. Doing that hogged out my connector pins and one of the pins was not making contact with my brand new TCM. This caused me to have a persistent CODE U0101 and it also had no manual mode. When you drop the transmission down into manual it was just stuck on the 6th gear it would not move from there but the truck drove fine it wasn't stuck in third gear or anything. I carefully closed up the female terminals in the connector with a pair of very small needle nose pliers after I took out the red connector retainer. Fired the truck up and my manual mode was working again.
Hey people I had that u0101 code.2012 3500hd Duramax. I believed it was the TMC. AFTER months of trying to find another, I found a rebuild shop. Tested the TCM said it was good. But I found the wire harness on the pass side of tranny, THAT connection was polluted with tranny fluid! It can cause all kinds of codes. Going to replace the harness in the tranny. AND do this wire check like this video.
I tried GOECM in Grand Prairie Texas, they said it was ok but after trying several other things I did find the TCM was bad. Got scalped on the Internet for a new one $2500 but installed and programmed ($800) and yay truck is finally running. Chevy couldn’t get me a TCM . They don’t support their vehicles.
The harness was not the problem! Just wasted time and money. It was the TCM just like I thought. GoECM in Texas was wrong about both my modules. I knew it was the TCM after I replaced the transmission harness and the ECM.

I need help bud, my 2008 lmm, got the p0872 code. My trans never slipped, never beat on it, was driving normally on highway, getting off exit while it was slowing down, engine light popped and it went right to 4th gear lock. It has higher miles, so after reading code I decided to do a complete VB-internall wire harness ect. I spent 6 hours laying in snow to do it. Its my only vehicle and I have a 6yr old. So I can't be without. Test drove last night, was fine for first couple miles until I got up to 55 mph past 4th gear, and when slowing down to stop sign same thing. Engine light, limp locked to 4th gear. Same code. I'm so upset idk what else to do.
I'm looking to have my TCM rebuilt because they are no where to be found. I have a 2013 Duramax with a LML engine and to my understanding that the TCM's are a sealed unit and possibly not rebuildable
@@Robert-kp8rn after extensive research I found out that the vin numbers were not matching up with the TCM's and the truck's vin's number of that they were trying to repair which lead me to believe they cannot get the software updates to work. @@bryanrodriguez6759 Yes, you need to take it to a dealership unless you can find a diesel service center that will take your vin and program it for you before they ship it to you.
Check your harness for damage after you go through your fuses. There is one on the driver side dash that will cause issues for the trans if it goes bad.
@madmikesgarage4861 so I tracked all the wires down. My ignition switch is getting power and sensing power when turned on, but that fuse by the door for ignition is not getting power to it.

Right. I have a 2011 6.6 with 6 speed transmission and this wire diagram/pin location is totally different that mine. He has pin connectors where I don’t and vise versa. Misleading title

That connector being wet is not an issue. The entire harness including the bare connectors live in a bath of that very same tranny fluid.
