As an I.T. guy who has sworn off car repairs my whole life...this video really got me into it 💪 thanks man
I had the same problem with my 2015 Chevy Impala I just unplugged the transmission plug from the transmission and sprayed some WD40 on the plug and plugged it back and that fixed the problem. 3 years later and still no problems.
I did the same with my 2015 Impala 5 years ago and it hasn't given me no more problems.
Sorry but can you elaborate on this for me.. just regular wd-40? Did you dry it out or anything after?
@@incithyes it really works a spent $4,000 chasing the problem over the years read this comment and tried it for myself and wouldn't you know $4.00 can of WD-40 did the trick
And yes I use the paper towel and tap it and let it dry out first no more problems codes went away!
did this made things worse
I'm sorry which plug did u un hook and spray having same issues
searching videos for weeks i said can nobody explain step by step and diagnostic correctly . Hats off to you Oz def subscibing
I'm having the same exact problems with my 2014 2.5 Impala, I mean exactly. I need trustworthy help😢...This vid is so freaking awesome. Thank you 🙏
I love these kinds of vids! Diagnose issue, replace bad part, then programming! Thanks, Oz!!!!
I wasn’t sure of programming that’s why I haven’t really put one out. I’m going to see how the outcome is
Good one Oz!
New module makes for a smooth engagement. The module is doing its job adjusting the proper fluid pressure, whereas, the old module must have been in default mode, with the giveaway being the missing circle around the lettered position.
This one was a fun one. Actually my first time changing out a tcm on a Impala. Programmed a lot but first time changing them out
@@OzMechanicsWhere are you located?
I've watched a lot of videos but I love yours well put together and well edited I love it

i was skeptical about you but man you are a PRO!
Great job Oz, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Excellent diagnostic , simple and great, thanks for sharing
Thanks for the kind words.
Always good when people are learning
Look at that...pure car daig no fuss no no over acting
Thanks for watching
Wish you would have show the actual replacement of the module inside the transmission
Most of my videos are diagnostic videos. So I focus more on the process of showing how to properly diagnose the issue. Thanks for watching
Oh I love the diagnostic videos, hoping the premier Houston based youtube mechanic will host a training event some time soon
@crasher88 Would he nice, not many training events around here, at least that I know of.
Good job but I guess I got lucky my 2015 had the same problem I just unplugged it and sprayed wd40 on the plug and it fixed it. 5 years later no problems.
Okay my man you missed the main part showing us how to change the dang thang lol
This is a diagnostic channel. We focus on showing why it messed up. Thanks for watching
Another great video! Great diagnosis
Thanks. Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Great video, Oz. Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by Luis. Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Thanks for sharing! Great video.

Had the same code pop up, the TCM was actually fine, the connector however was making a bad connection. i wiggled it while the car was running and it smoothed out for a short time, then i was able to recreate the problem. I repinned the connector because i couldn't find a replacement. that was 45,000 miles ago.
I am having the same problem is your vehicle still running fine?
yes been doing fine since i repinned the connection.

Awesome 👏
Love your channel OZ
Awesome video Oz, I love the way you teach!!!
Thanks Roxanne! Glad you enjoyed buoyed the video. What did you think of the programming segment? First video showing the whole process
Just came across your channel. & subscribed. More programming videos on other makes/models please. Thank you

Another great video OZ. Did you change the electrical part of the TCM, or the whole TCM? If you have changed just the TCM module (electrical part) that's a big job as this is inside the TCM. Thanks for sharing. Until the next one, take care.
I changed the whole valve body that also has the tcm
Where qre you located i have 14 impala that sputter and traction light comes on then the doors unlock then lock while tour driving. I have to let go of the gas let it slow down then it resets itself all while your doing highway speed
I have the same exact problem it’s so annoying.
Great video. My impala doing the same right now lol said color make & model.
Thank you for the video! I went to a mechanic for this issue he told me if I replaced the Tcm I would have to get a whole new transmission is that true?
Not on this one ☝️
way to go oz great video ✌
Thanks for watching jim
I have a similar issue with my 2014 Impala. The issue was no display initially and I removed the battery cable to reset it. Now when starting the car, it is showing as if in M1 but it's actually in park and will not shift. Resetting by removing the cable doesn't work anymore. Any suggestion on a fix would be appreciated. Great video by the way!
Oz, the data bus communication question. Did the wiring diagram show each pin that that was a data bus pin and which modules the tcm was communicating with? Did you test them all?
Great job 👍
Thanks Shaun
Would have loved to see the whole repair. Awesome though
Thanks for watching
Hello, Post video of you replacing the TCM in the 2014 Chevy Impala
i put in a used TCM in a 2007 Chevy Impalla. Tried to reprogram with info from internet info. Have R,3,2 & 1 gears. D is funcky. Guess I have to have a "PRO" program it. What are your thoughts?
How did you program it
this happened to my 2015 2lt 8 months ago and fixed it with the new tcm. now the same thing is happening. what should i do?
could be bad wiring or connector to the tcm
@@sub-zero1128 the pink wire, either negative or positive power i forgot which one, had a small split right where it pins in and it would cause it to unpin
Did you have to get a new transmission as well?
Brother man thanks you very much
No, thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video
I have 2018 Impala 3.6 having shifting issues, and I'm probably going to replace solenoid or valve body. Did you have to drop the entire engine to get into the trans?
I've got a 2012 Impala 3.6L with the same issues and U0101 code. The so called mechanic told me i need a new transmission without even doing anything. Should I just tow it to a transmission shop?
I would look for a good diagnostician in your area that would be able to properly find the issue
Ok. Thanks. I wished you were my mechanic 😊
I have a 2016 3.6L u0101 what end up being the problem pls Help
Great video Good job.
Thanks for watching Paul
Hey brother im having the same issues except the car won't start sometimes. And other time it will start and drive like normal. Where are you located?
Do I need to do the transmission fast learn adapt for my transmission to work after programming a new TCM ?
I have the same exact problem with my car. I have a 2015. Are you located anywhere near New York Connecticut or New Jersey?
1st and foremost lol great video other than not using a voltmeter instead of a test light.
Does the 2015 have the same part number for that tcm?
Awesome 👏🏼
For the wake up signal from the 13 pin, what voltage is there supposed to be? On pin 12 I have 12.6 but on pin 13 I have 11.8v. All other voltages check out. I have the 2014 impala, same transmission.
Check out this video talks a lil more about the wake up signal
@@OzMechanics thanks for the reply! I watched it again but didn’t see any mention of the voltages needed. I have over 12v on pin 12 but only 11.8v on pin 13.
The video was good all the way up until you skipped showing replacing the TCM what happened with that part of the video?
I change my tcm and is still doing the same thing any help?
👍👍
How much would something like this cost to fix
pretty good video.
Awesome

I would have pulled out the two fuses before i went down to the transmission module. Power on both sides if fuse but you dont know if the legs were there.
Awesome
He showed how he checked voltage and grounds at the transmission connector which would indicate that he was getting voltage through the fuses.
@@richardostrowski6420 I understand that….
Im just saying before you do that, quick check to see if the legs are on the fuses
Awesome video
Thanks for stopping by willie. Glad you enjoyed the video
those programming procedures has to be done online or offline!!?
Online. They have to pull the software off the server to program
@@OzMechanics could you share the link to get to right software of GM downloading
Thanks mate 🙏
Where are you located? My 2013 Impala 3.6 L is doing the same thing.
????? ?
wat if i have no power on the connectors? im getting nothing on my tcm connector
nice video tks
Thanks for watching Danman. What did you think of the programming part ? Seeing if i should continue doing them
@@OzMechanics i do think programming info you share was good and about tool also tks
Nice
Oz-esome video!!

How did you get the connector off! I can’t seem to get mine off!smh!
You gotta pinch the sides of the red clip and then slide it out first. Then push the black part in front of the grey uh..grey thing that locks it into place.. the grey thing will slide down easily but it's really hard to get everything pushed right
I do Electrical Diagnostics but have not got into programming yet( which I find boring) Can you recommend a website to learn about programming.
L1 auto training has amazing information.

@@OzMechanics Ok. I actually have heard of him. I'm gonna look into it. Thanks.
Where are you located?
Man I wish I knew which one was the TCM connector . You didn’t show it 😩
It’s the one on the transmission pan
@@OzMechanics I’ll check it out, thanks!
@@Rozay773How come you are ignoring my request? I am trying to see if you can fix my car.
