You will probably never see this comment but brother, I appreciate you. You just took all my fears of tracing this electrical bug on this 2014 silverado. I am super appreciative of you to the fullest extent. You got a like and subscriber for this!!!

Just found this gold mine!!! Thanks so Much!! I have a 014 denali 4x4 for a stuck in 4wd. Was testing front actuator and encoder motor and now I lost com with multiple modules. Not sure if it came in with all those faults but at least I have a path to get results. You made another sub. Thank you Sir!!! Keep these coming!!!’
Great troubleshooting, I'm working on a 2012 Silverado 2500HD, am not a mechanic but have many years of industrial electronics experience and I have the same "Alldata"? schematics along with correct probes and test equipment. Your MOST important point is to disconnect the vehicle battery BEFORE doing anything, no one wants "Card Fryer" added to their name. Again, a well thought out and documented presentation troubleshooting wiring/components on an automotive network, GMLAN in this case but your logical approach is valid for all others...
Best video I've ever seen. I am having an issue with me 2010 silverado1500 4x4 5.3. First it just went to no crank no start. With code P1682 so I put ignition switch and tumblers in. Then went crazy with crankshaft position sensor, low circuit temp, U0100 and U0109. I just learned how to completely test my truck. I will be commenting soon to thank you again.
Very good diagnostics. I'am troubleshooting a 2000 c5 vette u codes 1016,u1064,& u1301 have cleared all, the u1301 & u1016 where (H) History codes & did not return, the u1064 (Loss of communication w/BCM) returns after a drive cycle. Also the U1128 (Loss of communication w/Radio returned a week late. It's been a journey but after seeing this I'am Diggin in. Best, G. E.
Absolutely paid attention the whole time. Great explanation and break downs. You should be an Instructor at UTI or wyotech because you did it better than my instructors did while i was there!!
Thank you for this. I'm tackling a U0122-00 Lost Communication with Vehicle Dynamics Control Module on my 2008 Suburban. I'll try to report back with my findings.
Sir, this is a great on the job, no special tools, instruction. When you are a Mom and Pop service, when you are mobile service, this is the way it's done and it is very much appreciated. Now, if I could borrow a cup of flexibility for my body I would really appreciate that also.
Excellent video, thank you! I am chasing an intermittent U-code problem with a 2018 Yukon. I have a much better idea of how to break this problem into pieces and isolate the network segment(s) that are the most likely based on the error code clusters I am seeing. Thanks a LOT!
I'm having problems with my alarm and lights this video showe me what to look to for in the wiring system to find the short or missing curcuit thank you for the education I'll be seeki9ng you out again
I have spent 8 months looking for this breakdown. I have O.L. across 6&14 and til now I hadn't any reference for procedure. (Felt like an idiot out just replacing parts till it works, ecm and fuel control) Many videos but few articulating so clearly Thank you, confident I can get it now. Thanks for this video I have a u0100 ebcm code. No lights on just showing up on the system scan. Hope i can find the problem with the help of this video.
Great video on the testing/troubleshooting. I have a bad connection at PCM/ECM itself. Where can I get a wire diagram so I know what pins I am testing? (2017 Traverse) Are most cars like this with the resistor paths or is this specific to Chevy? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Is it possible that the junction box acts up intermittently? I was getting about 98 ohms with it connected then when I disconnected it I’m getting about 120 ohms I’m not able to jump the wires like you did I just connected my multimeter to pin six and 14 where you would connect, your scan tool
Good afternoon Steve I was going to ask you I have a problem with my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500hd having code u1096 no communication with cluster I’m lost I check the cluster replace batteries clean ground on batteries and remove after market components. Do u have idea what it could be ?
2017suburban rabbits chewed some wires my mechanic fixed it then a couple of days later lives on dash on but no crank no start is now at dealer and am told ECM is bad $2900 does that sound right?
Hello. I have a problem with a can bus. No u codes. I can communicate with all the modules but i can't get live data. As soon as I try read the live data on any module, the scanner takes me out and display a message of no communication. I have literally done everything. I don't really know what else I can do to diagnose the can bus system.
@@jordyreyes4495 For my suburban it ended up being a faulty ESC (electronic suspension control) module. I had an intermittent no start start and intermittent no com from the obd2. Gauges acted wild, door locks cycling, etc. I ended up just disconnecting the ESC module instead of replacing it and it works dandy now. If you have the electronic suspension the ESC module wouldn't be a bad place to check for issues.
Hello im having problems with my 2015 silverado im getting a u0073 ebcm communication fault but im getting 60 ohms at the aldl could it be the module itself is bad no abs light have replaced wheel speed sensors, but im still having the fault and poor performance
Did the trailer brake controller throw a code on the DIC? My 2019 HD is throwing a service trailer brake on the DIC and service engine light is on. Took it to Autozone and scanner only shows fuel pump communication loss yet engine starts fine. Not sure if this could be the same issue with mine. I changed the trailer brake controller and the module above the spare tire and still no change.
The vehicle in the video was older and did not have a DIC. If you’re getting a TBC fault AND. you have a loss of of comm with FPCM you have comm bus problem between the ABS module and the FPCM. Check the connector at the FPCM. You’ll need a wiring schematic but you want to check for power, ground, 2 comm lines and a wake up signal. If you have those. Check the pin fitment. If the female pins get spread too much they won’t have a good connection to the male pin. Do you have 60 ohms on the can bus?
