2012 Dodge Journey No Heater AC or Radio
Very informative.! I had the same problem, but mine had a plugged screen on the side of the engine block next to the power steering pump.
Hopefully not plugged with metal.
@@fixingcarswith15thstautomo36 no metal, just crud build up. It was a customer's car that got frequent oil changes. I believe it didn't like some type of additives. 2005 crv, very clean under 100k miles.
Thanks for another great video! I appreciate it.
I just found your channel! I have to do this very job in the near future. Thank you for your work.
You can do it!
Solid diag. I wrench at an independent shop and haven't run into this issue yet on the LT motor. Thanks for the knowledge gained.
Thanks for watching!
That not pcv sir pcv sit under the intake close to the throttle body
What I disconnected was the the PCV vents to the intake. Still the PCV system. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing!
That was a fun learning exercise.
Learn something new everyday.
Thanks for sharing!
Great diagnostic video.! Thanks again..!
Don't forget to subscribe
Shouldn't the PCV be almost completely closed at idle? I understand it doesn't have a seal that totally closes it off but apparently it still sucks in more air than I realized.
The tubes that I disconnected are "vents" for the valve covers not the actual PCV valve. So any time the engine is running there is some vacuum at those ports. The small amount of vacuum will ingest whatever vapor is in the crankcase. In this case fuel contaminated vapors.
@@fixingcarswith15thstautomo36 Yeah that makes sense. My first thought was either EVAP or EGR, but an issue with those would've likely thrown a code. I think this is a situation where experience comes in since as you mentioned you've seen this before and were able to fairly quickly hone in on a leaking HPFP. Good info, thanks again for sharing.
Where did you find the electrical schematic? Im looking for one for a 2008 gmc sierra extended cab 5.3 and am having a tough time
We subscribe to Mitchell On-Demand and Alldata.
Great video would like to see pump replacement
Coming soon!
Always good diag videos. Especially the can bus ones
I was just thinking this morning that I haven't seen any can bus issues lately.
Before everything got overly complicated.
There aren’t many more simple than this one.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks again.!
I had same issues with my Dodge journey and this really helped in solving the issues with my vehicle. Thank you...
Awesome! Glad I could help.
Good video.! Thank you Steve.
Do you work more on Ford Chrysler GM cars?
Can’t say that any one of the big three are more prevalent. We see a lot of all of them. I literally had all three make in bays today.
Why did the battery light go out when you raised the RPMs? I was expecting to see a voltage increase on the multimeter when you raised the RPMs since the light went out, but that's not what happened so I don't understand why the light wouldn't stay continuously lit.
I don’t have a good answer for you. I suspect the pcm is using the feedback circuit to decide if the light is on or off. I had my meter on the main lug of the alternator. It’s possible that the feedback circuit may have gain some voltage.
@@fixingcarswith15thstautomo36 Ok good, that's not just me that found that a little odd then lol. I would agree with your analysis - thanks for the reply.
Looking forward to repair
The repair was replacing the alternator. Didn't film it because it's a simple fast job.
I have the camera at the shop and record anything I find interesting. There are a lot of vehicles I repair that don’t make it to you tube. I could put out 5 videos a day if I had the time to edit and produce them.
Very informative. Thanks again Steve.!
Thanks for sharing! You’re really putting out the videos!
Very informative video. Thanks again..
I have tried several times to activate my third arm, but am unable to. Congratulations on your third arm activation! 🤣
Sometimes you need a little help from your friends.
Very well explained , this is a great learning opportunity - thank you for coming back Steve
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome diagnosis! Thanks
Your garage reminds me of a gas station back in the 60s when I was a kid used to go there and learn . Good memories. Great shop you have
Cool, thanks
Thanks again...!
Thanks!
That one came off easy. I have fought with those Explorers and Subarus for hours upon hours in the rust belt.
That side came off much easier than the drivers side. But my mic died on the drivers side so I had to use the passenger side footage.
Great videos! Easy to follow along. Thanks for showing us your processes! Keep em coming!
Thanks! Lots more to come.
Good video. I thought that vehicle used pressed in type bearings instead of bearing assembly. Learned something
I learn something everyday!
Thanks for sharing!
If you don't know what you are doing keep your hands in your pockets.
Be nice.
Thanks! I appreciate these videos!
Thanks for sharing!
could you detect a leak in the evaporator using a refrigerant leak detector on the vents? I never heard of the co2 thing.
We have a refrigerant detector that we use, but if the system is empty the CO2 procedure will find a leak more accurately.
Some backyard hack thought they knew a thing or two about fixin cars LOL Great video
I'm not sure how or why the harness got pulled apart that way.
I'll be honest, I really thought it was going to be a timing/compression issue after hearing it during cranking.
It turned over nice and even. The mic doesn’t really pick up cranking sound very well.
@@fixingcarswith15thstautomo36Ah maybe it was the mic - it's still one of those things I'm learning to listen for so I'm by no means an expert at this point. As a current automotive student I appreciate following along with your diagnostic and repair processes, so thanks for uploading.
Amazing how people can screw simple things up.
Yep. Not sure how all that happened.
Thanks again..!
Always welcome
@@fixingcarswith15thstautomo36 thank you.!
I ❤ YOUR no nonsense repair ethic. Thats the only thing belt driven why not electric Comp? i still have a 02 F150 crew fx4 original owner😅
It has a separate belt for the alternator and water pump with a traditional tensioner. I'm not impressed with stretch belts. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Stop trying to look like South Main Auto. You are a fraud.
👍🏻
Nice video and a nice clean shop.! Your uniforms are all clean too! Now that's sayin' something!
Thanks! It's nice to work in a clean shop.
This why the "just needs a recharge" is bs when buying a used car.
Yes! There's a reason that car is for sale in a used car lot.
Can you show the repair process and proof of fix?
The shop was busy and the work had to get done. Filming slows down the repair quite a bit. The repair is quite simple and the noise was gone with new sway bar links.
Another great video 👍🏻
Thanks again!
