I love your reactions! I have to tell you this story. I’m 12 and Make it Big is huge! I’m straight up in love with GM. I have a Wham tapestry on the wall and a Wham headband I wore around my knee. I force my mom to put in the cassette in the car. She hears Everything She Wants and was SHOCKED, just shocked by the lyrics and says, “you’re to young to understand the meaning of this song!” (She was totally right). She thought GM was the most scandalous thing on the radio 😂 After watching the Wham documentary on Netflix I have fallen back into the GM rabbit hole, hard and fast! I haven’t listened to his music in a long time and it brings back such great memories! I didn’t realize he wrote, arranged and produced all of those songs! I really encourage you to do some reactions of the Live at Earls Court videos. They show how timeless his songs are, and how meaningful and mature they were when he wrote them at such a young age. GM’s 45 year old self singing songs he wrote in his very early 20’s brings such a dimension of maturity. I’m turning 50 in less than a month and these songs just flood me with great memories from my youth. Keep it up Rick!

The amazing amazing amazing thing about this too is the time period. No one came out back then and if they did it was mainstream homophobia. He was also a sex symbol so it was just a big deal. However, at this point he was already out to his family and friends. He had been out to his family for years by this point. It’s just crazy to think about the difference between then and now when it comes to celebrities coming out. Like now there wouldn’t be acceptable homophobia in mainstream media or outside the fringes but back then it was like homophobic headlines on the cover of things like people magazine. Crazy
