I like it and I been waiting for you to put this video out! I can always count on you for cool timex stuff
Re the off centre alignment of the date window, unless you do a custom date wheel, it has to be like that. By default the date is at 3h. Because there are 31 days on the wheel, you have to rotate it in multiples of 11.612 degrees for it to display properly.
I like it. It’s definitely quirky but that’s the Q lineup, also I’d rather have the classic acrylic domed crystal instead of mineral
I received mine today, I like it but it isn't anything special. I got the silicone strap version at €150 and I would like to get the steel strap but can't find one.
How would you do half hour increment changes without moving the minute hand though? That makes no sense. Seems you're asking a cheap watch you do something high-end watches aren't even doing...
Great video brother, dropping mine this week (white dial).
Thanks for a fine review. You cemented my impression, that while I ❤️ the look of this watch in pictures. I really need to see it on the wrist before buying it or not.
Timex seem to be always short-changing themselves with a product that leaves allot to be desired...GEEZ!!
@7:00 half hour cant be change because you need to change the minute hand too. is there a watch that can jump in half hour at all ?
Beautiful watch, but like you said, it's too busy. Without chronograph, it would be great!
Btw, I love the Bulova! Also 1979 is my birth year. Now I want this watch 😅
excellent review as always, even with the flaws I love it
Selling these at the moment for $130 on Timex site. Great for that price
The bracelet looks like a vintage Citizen bracelet from the bullhead from the seventies .
Thank you for the video. I have ordered it today.
I like the second and third time zone are all based on 12 hours which are much easier to track the time than usual 24 hours based GMT watch. It is the watch that I have been looking for long time.
AVI-8 also recently released the same type 12 hrs based dual time watch and I bought it too but it is so colorful and big sized, good for weekend but not suitable at all for normal business days/business dress code.
Noooo. You're going to hate it. Yes it has these functions, but there all very bad, i wish they didn't even release this and spent another year designing something. The execution is horrible
Its not easier to track than a 24 hour bezel, unless you have really good eyes, because that 24 hour dial hand is hard to see. 24 hour bezel is the same but after 12its 1 hour ahead,si 2 o'clock os 13. Not 12. Once you learn it its easy
thank you for your input. I am waiting to get this watch next week. I will see it and share my actual user's opinion here.
I have got this watch and have been wearing it for last two weeks.
My conclusion is that it was good to buy this Q Timex Three Time Zone Chronograph.
I do not like the small rubber finish on the crown. Also the dial is too busy. But this watch does worth the cost. I like that the second & third time zone hour indication are all 12 hours based, which is very unique on this watch. It is far better than 24 hours based second time zone tracking, because the first time zone is anyway 12 hours based and it is easier to track the second time zone also by 12 hours. If you have to read second time zone by 24 hours (like most of other GMT watches) while the first time zone with 12 hours, you have to calculate it in mind. But with this watch you do not need to because you will just track the second time zone with Usual 12 hours based hour hand. It can be a good watch for travelers and for anyone who works with people in other countries .
It’s a decent looking watch on wrist. Shame about the finish.
I bought this on the day of release because I don't have any GMTs that can do a third zone, and that's something I've been wanting in my collection for a while. My reaction was also mixed, although not as negative as this review. The pusher action is indeed ugly feeling, but I didn't buy this to use as a chronograph so it's disappointing but not a dealbreaker. On the plus side, the chrono hand is perfectly aligned to the seconds markers, which is above standard for Timex. I have no problem with the black material on the crown; yeah it's kinda weird, but it ties in with the black bezel in an unusual way that I haven't seen before. I've had better finishing on a watch at this price for sure, but it's just sort of soft, not bad or sloppy. My only major complaint is legibility. All the hands are shiny, and the subregisters seem to be especially prone to being blocked by the central hands. The most annoying aspect of this is that the butt end of the chrono counter sits right on top of the 60 seconds mark, making it hard to accurately hack the watch.
Aesthetically, I probably would have preferred the older, black PVD style if I was going to get a Q GMT, but they sell out really fast and I keep missing my window. Plus, I also have a non-GMT Q in black (with the bezel that can show a second zone), so that's arguably redundant.
I have the white dial and it’s very legible. I also think it’s the best looking variant. The GMT hand being linked to the 24 hour hand is very odd though.
@@andyburns6496 A typical GMT hand counts 24 hrs, not 12 hrs., like this watch does. I'm guessing coupling the 24 hr. register to the GMT hand was to address that peculiarity.
I don't think I've ever heard him complain this much 😮
If i designed it.... date window at the 3 position...engraved letter Q top left corner ... al la 222 ... better braclet plus bonus rubber strap...ditch stupid rubber on the wind button.
I would prefer acrylic to mineral glass.
It’s odd that the 24-hour register is tied to the second time zone, not the local hour hand.
In pretty sure all 3 are connected some how. Basically you set the gmt hand then hour hand then something from the regular hour hand grabs the gmt hand and keeps it following, why they didn't use a 24 hour bezel
how about the fact that you can only jump the hour hand forward, and when doing so you end up rolling over the date. Turning the same crown position the other direction adjusts the date forward. So if you want to go backwards in timezone / return to your home time after being forward, you need to go all the way around (which takes a while) AND change the date!! Am i missing something?
looks nice, but to me that inconvenience / design flaw is disappointing for a watch supposedly for traveling. should have left out the date or added a separate crown position for date, and allow jumping hour in both directions.
Timex trying to do too much for little cost and it's catching up to them on this one
cool concept (and actually makes use of the 24 hour subregister!!!) but I feel the Q Timex GMT is still their best recent offering. I love mine..... I wonder if this bracelet will fit on the Q Timex GMT
That one looks too much like a homage. This one has a better bracelet and a more original style
No Indiglo?
Very nice looking, but they could've done better and only have charged consumers marginally more.
A Chronograph with 3 round subdials with large round diver style indices, a large round Mercedes-style hand, a date and a GMT hand. That’s too much. Just get rid of those huge dive-style indices and this watch wouldn’t such a mess of circles.
I would just replace the 12 hour bezel with a 24 hour one.
This guy botched his review. The bezel is the best part. The gmt hand actually moves in full increments. So that 12 hour bezel works perfectly.
I’ve sold all of my timex off. They just don’t do it for me anymore -
Seriously. I only uad 1 other but loved it and it meant a lot to me. i bought this and felt scammed
"True GMT", lol, every single timex I own does the date change this way, gmt or not, think this is just standard. Just seems like this is a watch for someone who wants a ton of features but won't use them. No 24 hour bezel or gmt hand, get rid of the 12 hour gmt hand, and you could still technically have 3 time zones. Replace it with a timing bezel and have less hands on the stack. The chronograph is used by maybe 10% of people that have one. Just a very confused watch. 😕
Very underwhelming when I pulled it out of the box.
Not a fan of GMT watches and this looks way to busy for me.
C'mon, Timex?
Open up a manufacturing facility in Switzerland & make watches there, using only ETA calibers, will you.
Nah. Just bring back American watchmaking and have an in-house movement.
@@matthewirvine1688 the Swiss are way more superior than the Americans, the Japanese, the Chinese calibers.
The gearbox of the Timex should be a Swiss Valjoux 7750 instead of quartz.
Lol
I didn't like it when i first saw it 👎 I wouldn't want to take it to watches & wonder's , they would definitely wonder.
The rubber on the crown will undoubtedly fall apart in time. How could they design a watch with a GMT HAND AND NO 24 hour dial anywhere?😱
Maybe I'm missing your point, but the GMT hand is tied to the 12-hour markers, not the more typical 24 hour track. If you need to know where the GMT hand is in a 24-hour context, it's on a subdial.
I was totally dissatisfied right when i opened the box. Theres no reason for this watch ti be as cheap feeling as it is. Its complete trash when you compare to pd or other less expensive fashion watches the extra hour hand is just connected to the hour hand. Basically when you set the "gmt" it grabs the hour hand, then when you set the time it releases both hands and you're just setting the regular hour hand. Thats why they didn't use a 24 hour bezel. I actually liked Timex as a brand up until this. Im absolutely pissed off they even let this leave and now they gave people a reason to say, timex is junk.
12 hour GMT hand is really dumb.
I'm glad I skipped this one.
