G'day Jason. The thought of wiring my existing layout in DC was doing my head in so we decided to change to dcc. Again a huge land of confusion. After seeing this video, the dcc wiring became clear and easy. we took a step further and drew up a wiring diagram which gave plan in advance to what went were, thus eliminating the ned for rework. Thanks again for the videos. they are a great reference to see what others in nswgr are doing.
Hi Jason - I am still here mate. Enjoyed this one, explained the way I can understand. I have seen a couple of other modellers wiring up very similar to this and it looks so easy and neat and better still easier for fault detection. One which I will copy. Cheers mate. Regards Chris
I saw this clip ruclips.net/video/vYgHTmcCsn4/видео.html which shows you a very similar method which got me interested, watch between 11.20 and 14.55 in case your interested to see how it compares with yours. Regards Chris
Hi Jason, just a belated query from the U.K. we are advised that where “mains” power cable is used as DCC bus cable, the outer sheathing must be removed so that some person who follows you does not attempt to connect the “mains voltage” to the feeder cable. Is this advice specific to the U.K. Thanks Peter
Hey Peter, that is a very good question! I haven't heard of that over here, but I do see the safety concerns. Our mains cable is white and very distictive. Cheers
Hi Jason, thank you for your speedy reply, I am looking forward to catching up on the things I have missed. Mains cable over here comes in all sorts, sizes and colours and we do have some muppets who don’t think before they act. The only trouble is that they act and then read the advice - some will say typical bloke they should read the manual first or RTFM! = Read The Flipping Manual! Please replace your own interpretation on RTFM. Thanks for imparting your knowledge and experiences.
