Bloodborne Iceberg by someone on the Iceberg who contributed to a ton of the discoveries on the Iceberg and whose career in the community could have an iceberg all to itself
Todd Howard and team truly delivered something special with Bloodborne, he was not able to top it IMO
I’m sorry, wut?
It just works.
Hayao Miyazaki is truly a multitalented guy! Can't believe he became a video game director!
Todd really is the greatest game director of all time. It’s amazing how he developed Sekiro all by himself.
@@bungalowfeuhler1541i agree
This is the second time Sophie covered this iceberg and i enjoyed it even more this time. I even learned a few new things! I actually thought Redgrave just went into a hole in a mountain and never came back, good to know he is still somewhat sane.
I UNDERSTAND THIS REFERENCE.
Please ignore me. I’m very tired.
"Bell maidens with a Instagram filter" i cant right now
🤚😭🤣
"We should create some drama"
"How? Nobody watches us."
My sleep deprived, 6am all-nighter self: -almost actually crying- I WATCH YOU, SOPHIE AND SIN!! 😭
I should go to bed now.
Used to binge your videos while farming in Cainhurst in 2019 and 2020. Now replaying Bloodborne, been listening to you two again, and happy to see some beautiful changes :) Keep up the amazing work! ❤
Ever since I’ve beaten bloodborne which has now become my fav game, I’ve been obsessed with piecing together the lore. Watching tons and tons of your guys videos have helped me understand so much, so I just wanted to say thank you for covering just about everything there is to know about this masterpiece!
i recently found you guys' podcast and i can't stop listening. The your wholesome selves juxtaposed with Bloodbornes mega spooky vibes is the perfect thing to listen to casually, or fall asleep too! (this is a great compliment). You also have really good insight into the Fromsoft games
Thank you!
Sophie you are absolute voicegoals
I was sick of hearing my voice after a week of editing it, so thank you so much
Now that you mention it, I haven't heard from JSF in years.
I hope that helicopter crash didn't kill them for real 😰
I am sorry to be the one telling you this...but I fear they are not coming back. Wasnt a helicopter crash either. Tried to climb Yorshkas tower, for that sweet lore...got sniped by a Silver Knight halfway up...
@@freshhands9461Richie always did love Yorshka and her lore. 😢
Damn where has this channel been hiding?! Good shit
Thank you! (algorithm hates us)
I think killing rom makes quite a lot of sense if you take for obvious that a) player spoke to gilbert about paleblood, and he lead them to cathedral ward b) spoke to Alfred about byrgynwerth. Character is unable to get any informations from church then kills amelia and goes to byrgenwerth since its the only way left, meets willem and since him and our character are both silent we need to assume that player asks about paleblood, willem then points to the lake, you kill rom and then behold pale blood sky. The only real question remains what is even our deal with paleblood?
I think the moon presence makes hunters seek paleblood by either making the hunter live in a dream purgatory or just probably an excuse to make your character progress (some kind of eldritch mind influence type of thing). And I also assume paleblood as an ailment is also just another way of saying the moon presence is harming your body in some way (whatever it is).
It's still a little weird because ... how on hell killing someone is going to give you answers? Rom is NOT aggressive until you attack her, so we don't have the justification of self-defense. Where does the logic of 'i need to find 'paleblood' so i must kill this peaceful caterpillar' come from?
For all we know, Willhem pointed to the lake so you had a little chat with Rom. It's a little weird to assume that pointing to someone means 'kill it'. Also, why would Wilhelm want Rom dead? Plotwise, it seems we killed Rom because we run out of options. There is no plot indication whatsoever that we are supposed to kill Rom. Of course, the game don't progress if we don't kill her, but why we kill her is never explained.
The truth is that after we kill Amelia... there is basically no plot. We are just exploring and killing because there is nothing else to do. Even Gehrman stops giving us any kind of advice.
Maybe that's intentional: we are now a blood-thirsty hunter with the only motivation of keep on killing. Who knows.
Note: I ADORE BloodBorne, warts and all.
Oh wow. I was not expecting this remaster. What a pleasant surprise. Thanks, Sin and Soph!
I'm amazed at the fact that I knew the meaning behind probably 85% of this, but thinking about it it's basically all from bingeing this channel. Though I had no idea upside byrgenwerth might be referring to an actual scrapped level!
Amazing video. 2 hours flew by
I'm so mad at youtube for hiding your channel from me for like 6 months?? I have ADHD so I didn't even realize. I'm turning on those notifications. You're not hiding the cool lore scholars from me again yootoob. >:(
I had thought that the corpse hanging in front of the fishing hamlet was probably one of the villagers, as the head was removed to "check for eyes" (Accursed Brew). Either it was hung that way as a sort of "calling card" (hunter's rune) that hunters had been there. Or perhaps that design influenced the Hunter's Rune, whichever came first.
I always have seen the hunter rune like all the other Caryll runes, in that they symbolize the cosmic presence of what they are describing through the language of the Great Ones, and so bleed through into reality in a variety of ways, like Oedon and Oedon Writhe appearing in people's heads in-game to symbolize his presence or interest in them. In a similar vein, I theorize that those who embody the desire to hunt naturally form the hunter rune within their minds (when it isn't forced onto them by the Moon Presence), which in turn is what attracts the Curse of Kos to the hunters and turns them blooddrunk. The hanging body is a reflection of this rune's presence inside of the people who ravaged the hamlet, consciously or not.
Thank you for introducing me to Snuffles ❤
Snuffles was named by our a friend of ours, but I couldn't find the tweet where it happened :(
2+ hour Sinclair Lore video? I'M IN!!!!
It's wild to me to have been following/listening to Sin and Sophie since... well, since the before times. It's amazing what changes in all those nine years, but what ends up being the same all the while. ♥Still rooting for Bloodborne 2 so we can get another nine years of podcasts.
As someone who platinumed this game, the single most rewarding gaming experience in my life, I thought I knew EVERYTHING about the game... I knew NOTHING! Thanks for making this video I learned a lot and really enjoyed listening.
I'm so happy I've discovered you! The energy between you two, the detailed knowledge of the lore, the sense of humor-you are perfect! Thank you for so much content on Bloodborne, this channel is like discovering a treasured library.
😭😭😭😭
Plenty of weapons have two *charged* r2s, but only the saw cleaver has an uncharged second r2, which is literally just from the other direction in certain situations. You could argue that the rakuyo has this as well though.
That Cainhurst Knight is just Commander Niall :o
As Theomeny would say, "FromSoft is a nose-to-tail developer."
God, this is pleasant and knowledgeable. Perfect for a slow night.
"Make Contact" emulates (SETI) radar, nobody can persuade me otherwise.
What do the movements signify as a SETI signal?
@@SalFettucini Movement of the radar. If you look at old radars and how they moved on some axis (or radar animated icons sometimes) it is similar to a movement of "Make Contact"
So to me this gesture imitates the seach for cosmic life similar how SETI radars tried to find their.
@@hiddenshadow2105 This sounds like an elder god uses the plane of reality itself as an axis to perceive our gesture 🤯
@@SalFettucini In Bloodborne it might be just the case!
Make contact is merely a 90° angle which is not very comonly present in nature so you know the thing making contact with you is somewhat intelligent
Something I always hated about the gaming industry is that people that make the games never talk about the game to the public. I wish there was some sort of relationship between them. It’s be nice to see Devs talking about the games we love with them and pick there brains
You should create e-drama with Quelaag, invite her on the show, then just shout at each other for a couple of hours.
I don't think she knows who we are lol
Another channel tried starting e-drama with *us* a couple of years ago, we didn't bite and they've been reduced to having fights about Dragonball on Twitter all day.
She did a lore stream with Lokey and said she'd like to do more with other content creators, I suggested the SinclairLore girls and she liked the comment, reach out and she'll be up for it I'm sure.
Saved for later, look forward to it!
Banger video 10/10
You for the great video ❤❤❤
1:02:17 - nice FF4 reference there Sophie.
This is a DRAMA channel now, Vaati confirmed fake australian, cancel him
The man's never been to a sausage sizzle in his life!
Love yall! Great duo. Would like to here a your ideas for a hypothetical Bloodborne sequel
We'll add it to the list.
Kinda disappointed. Sin doesn't look nearly as mental as I expected her to.
Just started it and see it's OVER TWO HOURS, YES!
a return to the classic! this time: even more cool stuff
Omg, I caught one live! Thank you guys for the awesome long form content, love your lore videos♥
Lets go!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
This is the only channel that can make me sit through an entire iceberg video
Vaati is a big fan of Reborn? I’m learning so much about Bloodborne from this Iceberg!
i liked and i subscribed :3
Excellent taste!
I like this video during the ad cuz when I see a new Sinclair/Bloodborne video I know it’s going to be a banger
I look forward to returning to this video again and again
1:14:00 - The Amydalas' (Amygdalae's?) heads _do_ sort of resemble the Mensis cages. Still probably a stretch though.
As someone who knows nothing about Bloodborne lore but loves the Beasthunter Saif, I'm very upset the BH Saif charged R2 to L1 combo isn't at the bottom of the iceberg. (it's broken and doesn't work without a frame-perfect(?) L1 input) Completely useless knowledge but I feel like I know something 99.9% don't
Great video, thanks 🙂
Left my bfs just to be here, glad I didn't miss the whole thing!
"32 times the Arcane. It just bloods" - Todd Bloodborne
legit got so fucking hyped when I saw it was a bloodborne vid
About the hunter's rune: it's based on the hanged man tarot card, which is a guy literally upside down, with his feet to the sky and head to the ground. It take it it's how the Moon Presence brands her hunters, by making them "upside down" in the nightmare. We know from Micholash that, when you die in the nightmare, you simply wake up as if from a dream.
However, when you have this inverted rune, it makes you live in the waking world as if you're in the nightmare: when you die, instead of dying you simply wake up. But when Gehrman kills you in the nightmare, you go back to the waking world as if you died there for real.
Up till now I never realized that 3 of 4 cords have different Great Ones they are connected with:
Rom/Iosefka: Kos
Mergo/Yharnam: Moon Presence
Arianna: Oedon
Old Workshop/Annalise: also Moon Presence
Probably not important, just found it interesting...
Another great video! I feel like bloodborne-heads have a skewed idea of where everything should lie on the iceberg!
We're going to make our own soon!
I'm worried about Sophie i sure hope they aren't hoarding
Perfect timing with return to Yharnam starting soon
Yep, that was the idea!
Hey Sin, you spoke about the "music of the spheres" a long time ago, didn't you? Anyway to intersect that with the music box? 🤔
Thank you, awesome video
I like to call the real version The Hunter's Awake to contrast with the Nightmare and Dream
"Leve 4, brainsucker proboscis" 😃
It's a crime that the ultimate bottom tier of the iceberg isn't discussed:
The floating statue in the sky in Old Yharnam.
We're going to make our own Iceberg next weekend and that will be on it
What about the old blood causes beasts to have un even arms?
amazing vid
Thanks!
today is the happiest day of my life
this was fun to watch
We're glad you enjoyed it :)
Perhaps the plot holes after Rom would have been addressed in the previous story draft where we were searching for Laurence 🤔
The r/K selection thing reminds me a lot of JoJo Part 2 (where a fantastical version of the concept was also used)
25:00 when do you find out the church made the beast blood pellets? I don't remember that from the research hall. I always figured it was some thing made by Izzy & her buddies, since the beast claw guy in the chalices is from old yharnam. The beast blood pellet description says the church banned them due to "unclear origin"
just a little confused, maybe I just missed a crucial bit of scenery or dialogue
There's a room with a bunch of blood ministers and a pile of beast blood pellets, then underneath that there's a bunch of patients being experimented on who are behaving like beasts. You also get Beast Blood Pellets from the Choir's badge.
The JP text on Beast Blood Pellets is a little clearer, basically "banned by the Healing Church in a way that's very suspicious".
@@SinclairLore oooh that's super cool, thanks for replying! I guess I just didn't pay enough attention to the specific stuff in the research hall. Also pretty cool that the choir badge alludes to it
Some people attempted to translate the latin of Hail the Nightmare. The implications from the lyrics are interesting.
It's true, sometimes I help Redgrave get washed in the morning 😎
I was listening to the video when you guys started talking about the hunters emblem and how it’s an upside down decapitated man hung by the legs. It made me think about how I once saw livestock butchered in that way. They usually place a bucket under where the neck is in order to collect the blood. Given the significance of blood in BB, could it mean that they executed people in this way in order to drain their blood and drink it?
That's certainly what's happening to the Blood-starved Beast in Old Yharnam!
@@SinclairLore omg you guys responded to me? That’s the cherry on top of a great weekend! I really love your BB content, but I usually don’t interact. I just did cause I thought I had something good to add.
@@SinclairLore do you guys think that they were also drinking the blood of the non beast people that were executed in this way?
It'd depend on how good their blood was when they were alive, I guess? They mention burning some bodies too.
In my head darkbeast paarl has this name because it was called paarl when it was human, just like darkbeast loran being called loran because she was problably the queen of the land of loran, just like yharnam, but that is just me
Yeah, if Paarl were Archibald it doesn't make sense to give them a different name.
Ya know, Sin low key doesnt give a fuck about these games anymore.
Correction: IDGAF about Elden Ring. The rest are cool tho :)
Please Snack Covenant, please complete Laurence the Worst Vicar part 2.
We are! It's just that we can only really record once a week due to work committments.
1:49:38 do the undead giants not count as wandering bosses?
It's just to do with the "wandering boss" dungeon flag; there's a lot of bosses that double as regular enemies (silverbeast, brainsucker, bps, etc)
Iirc Sin never finished Elden Ring. It would be a super fun Let's Play. Just sayin'.
I want to force her to finish it before the DLC
Lol.. golbez. Someones an FF fan.
I live in Canada 🍁
How is King Ghost Low Class not a Snack Covenant character?
Loool
Hey I'm an hour early instead of an hour late!
