sorry to hear about the loss of the camera. i won't go into how there's no way the entire rig could become irreparable. it is what it is now.
anyway, you would enjoy the p67 as well. they are great cameras, and the smc lenses are fantastic. the 105mm 2.4 is especially sought after. there are others, like the 165 2.8 (or the f4 version with the leaf shutter).
whichever system you choose, you can get fantastic results. the p67 doesn't have the same steps necessary to make images, and that's a plus. there are not as many things that can go wrong while shooting. but the rb67 is no slouch...as you know from your short ownership of one.
good luck with whichever route you go, and keep shooting!

It def wasn't irreparable but it's all good. Thank you so much for the pentax info! i am itching to get my hands one to at least try one of these days. I'll look into those lenses! Thank you for taking the time to share this.

Refund or camera.. tough choice. Given that the RB67 is modular - lens, body, film back, saying that it's irreparable - might be overstating the situation. Tearing a camera apart can be an informative journey. Seeing what's happening behind the "curtain" and how the various parts interact makes one appreciate the craftsmanship.

It was good to see you with the Mamiya RB67 Camera, I'm sorry that it's now gone. I have watched the people with this camera in their hands on other videos, but I was happy to see you with it. The size of the Mamiya is impressive and the images from the large negative with such detail are amazing. I hope that you get another Mamiya RB67. I was hoping to be able to follow you and your RB67. I like the way you articulated your first impressions of your Mamiya RB67 and the last moments with it, sounds like a death. I'd decided to buy a mamiyaRB67 after seeing you with yours. When I saw this massive Camera in your hands, I decided that I would buy it when I have the extra money, I already have a Bessler Enlarger and timer doing my own Black & White Photographs. I'm stupid when it comes to insurance, but I will get the insurance from Allstate because you had it.

So sad to hear that you lost your RB to the tides of times. Same happened to my Primoflex TLR before i got my very own RB.
She's a decent one, sadly super hazy. I proceed to perform a quick repair. Did not touch the mechanism, i swear only a drop of ISO. She's in the graveyard and thankfully manage to sold it away for dirt cheap.
It is painful, but God really has plans, and i got my Mamiya RB67 Pro-S for cheap compare to the market price. Hope you find a new great camera. It happened to me with the RB and i hope to you aswell!!

I will consider other options though, you're not the first person with a bad experience with the rb67.. The mamiya7, c330, pentax67, bronica are very good options.. I know we're pressured by the influences we see on youtube but I have come to realize that they could all be a mirage..

@@viewfindings np! and i've seen some good deals on ebay, but may end up going with KEH because everything KEH sells is guaranteed to work. I understand these cameras are super old and anything can happen, but KEH may be more reliable

Well, that’s a bummer! You’ve got a great attitude about it, though. 😊 Old cameras are just that, and RBs and the like can have a lot of mileage on them. I hope you do end up with another medium format system-style camera. They are really fun to use and yield amazing images. Cheers!

Woaaah, what a shiat repair experience! I’m having a hard time imagining what a total loss would be short of crushing the whole thing.
Like the lens should be good still? The film back should be good still? Like whaaaaaaaat?
