tenor is the best for jazz and has that nice sound inbetween the low bassy bari and the high alto.

The tenor is amazing, but I would say the alto can be just as good for jazz. Think of some of the greats like cannonball and bird
@@lessepic9805 yeah i was a tenor player when i wrote this so i was very biased, update on this statement alto and tenor are the best for jazz, they have a nice sound inbetween the bassy bari and the high soprano, i am now an alto player btw and think tenor is a bit worse at jazz lmao😄 as in i dont like the sound
You forgot a few. If you are including the super rare subcontra then you need include the C soprano and F mezzo.

@@lekonaino they’re not, I can say that for certain as a tenor player. Every clip or sound of a saxophone in a show or video is an alto. I never hear tenor.

I play French horn but I really love the bari sax I literally never stop talking about it and I hope I could play it someday but I’m small so probably when I get taller and I’m worried my band directors are not gonna let me but they are really an underrated instrument.
If you can play French horn you can def play Bari! Way easier. Plus if you unwind a French horn it's wayyyy longer than a Bari 😂

My Piano teacher’s roommate can Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass Saxophone lol. His main is Alto Saxophone though. Most Sax players who can play multiple sax’s always say Alto is their main

@@Warg141 only one you can afford is what I think you mean. considering it isn't about lung capacity since air travels very quickly once you get the pressure shot through the mouthpiece. infact, the mouthpiece is what makes it playable, any size different in the mouth piece is what makes it harder to play, centimeters make a difference.
