When I worked for them in the 90’s my truck was always bricked out, it didn’t look like yours until about 2pm every day, you must have a gravy rural route.
Thanks for showing the truck. Just seen them passing on the streets.
Hope you get better cars in the future with some good isolation and AC-system.
For the moment I drive a Scania P250, here in Sweden.
Used to be a Casual Courier for DHL, but I left due to not getting called back enough to support myself financially.
Currently an Amazon Delivery Driver with CDV certification. Been here at my DSP for 3 years and 4 months. Saw a lot of delivery drivers come and go in this fleet I’m with. So I’m a veteran compared to most and I know exactly how to load my truck in ways they don’t teach you at my warehouse or fleet. Even my managers were checking me out a couple of times looking impressed.
Currently trying to keep an ear out for UPS delivery positions as the location down the street from me is union and has better benefits all around.
I just wish y’all had totes like Amazon as they make navigating through your packages a bit easier (though the majority of your packages look bigger in size from what I’m observing). Or maybe at the least they should build the truck counters in such a way that it prevents your packages from sliding and/or falling over as you drive. I had to buy bungee cords so my totes wouldn’t fall over (cause we have to triple stack often in busy seasons).
Other than that, UPS seems like the way to go compared to Amazon. Nice video, I feel like making my own someday for Amazon.
Thanks for the vids man! I’ve been really considering trying to do UPS knowing how much I hate being confined into one area like a warehouse. Currently working in Amazon delivery and i’m tryna get into UPS asap! Love the benefits and all that.
hey man, you have a great videos very informative. Would you mind making a quick video explaining how the pension’s work at UPS like how many years do you have to put in before your vested and how much you could actually get in a pension after you retire, I’d love to know that info..
Thanks for the video, I have been trying to find out what they look like in the inside, but maybe in the future you could show more detailed stuff, like the controls and stuff.
Just finished my intergrad training on Friday!
Can we talk more?
Any advice on the road test when you apply? Do you drive their truck? Do you need to know stick shift to drive?
As a pre-loader at one of the toughest centers in indy, that load is not very neat. Does you’re loader at least keep misloads out of the truck?
How many hours are you averaging on your route randy ? I know it varies with volume im with FedEx express but I’m a swing so I don’t have a route compared to a guy who’s on his own route everyday
I just got an offer as a seasonal driver. Waiting for them to send me time/date for road test. Ive had my CDL-A for about 4 years driving dump trucks. Same average hours.
hi randy thanks for the videos! I'm watching from spain, barcelona. I had a few questions. How do you deal when there are dogs near the door? Can you decide if you want to do overtime? or it depends if you are a beginner or a senior?
what is the average amount of stops and packages you get on a weekly basis?
p1200 are the limos of the company...hate driving them but love the space
Hey Randy, I watched your How to become a UPS driver, and you said you can't be an RPCD driver till your 21. Dont you have to apply to work in the hub first then when your 21 apply to be a RPCD driver??
From ok too, waiting for an opening.
Keep waiting he got super lucky and got hired off the street to people who don’t know that’s is insanely rare they do that
Can you do a video of what the test will be like and what to expect to become a driver please 😊😊 also make a video about how to load the truck do you have to put them in order before taking off how does that work that will be a great video
192 packages? i just loaded 270 in oen truck, then 250 in another truck. thats light work LOL
I randy i have a question to ask im planning to join ups as a warehouse worker how long will it take me to become a ups CDL driver?
Hey randy I didn’t find RPCD under jobs, but an opportunity popped up right around the corner for a seasonal package delivery driver, would you recommend starting there or no?
Start there. Get your foot in the door
what does it take to become a UPS driver and how does it affect your mental health. What are the positives and the negatives about your Job? Also, will they Just hire anyone, or do they have to see something in you that makes it seem like you're a right candidate for the job?
How you become a UpS driver? And do I need a DCL A or B or just Class C driver license?
Appreciate your input and Thank you!
What if you stuck in someone's driveway?
People say it's difficult to turn around on this truck?
How do you turn those fans on?
Exactly what kinda shoes can you wear at ups? Can they be non slip , steel toe or do they have to be boots?
You need to have steel toe boots as they are required in the warehouse at all times. If you have steel toe shoes, that can also be worn instead!
How do you know what package goes to each house??
Hey Randy! So I went online to the UPS-Jobs website and what specifically do I need to look for? A warehouse worker?
Yes that would more than likely be the ideal position to apply for. They could and might have a position where it says driver helper, that position does help get you in the door if you take it serious.
Also I have a Class B CDL, does that give me a advantage to moving into a driver role?
No, package car drivers don’t even need a CDL…. The advantage you need is seniority in the company. Do your time
@@macwhite7257 bingo
Just applied but its a seasonal position do you think if I get the job they will hire me on after if I do good enough
Absolutely! They do what’s called a 30 day working result where if you do everything that’s required such as coming on time, being smart on decision making, following their policies, etc. They’ll definitely see you as a great driver for UPS!
@@elirodriguez9889 sadly didn't pass 5s and 10s
How can I apply for warehouse handler in Florida
Make a vid on how your integrad experience was ? 🤔
Are you able use a GoPro and do a POV of your day working?
Any advice? My husband got laid off so I said try ups. We finally saw a package delivery job available near our house (seasonal). He filled out the application and was rejected. He has 25 years driving experience and perfect record. So I thought it was a glitch. Just out of curiosity I applied and got hired in literally 2 minutes. I have 0 years driving experience, and spent 16 years as a teacher. What are they looking for exactly? Are they looking to hire more women than men? Is my husband too old? He’s 45? Should he keep trying other hubs? Any advice would help because obviously I don’t want to be the breadwinner lol.
Be the breadwinner if you have to then be his reference maybe
Hey there! I work at UPS here in Okc and I would love to help! It sounds like maybe a delay possibly? You should update on that certain hub to see about his application he put in. I don’t think they are necessarily looking to work certain people. It’s honestly a lot at the moment because UPS has signed a new contract and after that contract was approved, UPS has been hiring people left and right for seasonal. Try and see on UPS career jobs and search up your location to see what all positions are available at the moment. However, with seasonal jobs coming to an end soon, it’ll be difficult to find a permanent position at UPS to apply for, but if your lucky, have him apply for a position in the warehouse because that’s one way to get him started especially if he already has driving experience! I hope all goes well!
@@elirodriguez9889 yes thank you. We actually found out that he is in the ineligible for rehire list for some reason. He doesn’t know why. They just told us the only thing in the system said “dissatisfied with job”. Which could me he was or they were. We were planning to wait until after the busy season and then try to get him off that list they said by going to original supervisor I Long Island.
How long does the average person work in the warehouse before they get a opportunity to become a delivery driver? I’m in the Philadelphia suburbs
Get hired in the warehouse, gain 6 months seniority before you can sign up on the list, then sign up every time they post - it could take years to get in, it *heavily* depends on the needs in your area
@@macwhite7257 thanks for the info Mac!
@@macwhite7257True! Once they open the sign in sheets for Package delivery drivers, sign right away because you don’t want to wait the last minute and then you’ll definitely not be called off that list. They take their time off those who have more seniority than others, it’s based off experience in the hub you work at.
Do you work Saturdays and Sundays? Or It's optional?
I think that’s optional however more hrs more 💰
I never understand why you guys close that door where all the packages are after each stop is that like a policy at ups? Because I do FedEx and I rarely ever close that door bc I make a stop 2 min or less that it would slow me down doing that over and over again I only close it on my way out of the terminal and when I’m heading back
It is policy. It stops those packages from being missiles at your head in an accident or sudden hard stop.
No more Vids? Did you get a cease and desist from the bossman?
Where you at ?
Bro can preloader change his job to package driver ?
How long did it take you to become a ups package driver?
He got lucky and got hired off the street
@@joseg2994this explains his positive tone. All of us who are abused and slaves for years to get in the package car have much more resentment than this driver. No hate I’m happy for him he likes his job. I hate it on the inside of the warehouse
@@DoomsdayMgtowGood luck brother! I’m 21 and just started driving here in OKC and I’m loving it honestly. Just be patient bro and do what they need you to do. It’s simple tasks and they don’t necessarily ask much out of you except following their rules and policies.
I would love to make that kind of money for literally the exact same job i do at Amazon. But i have never seen any openings other than warehouse help.
You have to start in the warehouse first. From my understanding, UPS selects within the warehouse since driver positions are heavily sought after. In addition, seniority is a key factor.
I got hired off the street last year which is rare. Generally you have to work in the warehouse first.
@@arnulfovasquez7583Agreed! It’s better to work in the warehouse to have seniority because chances of you becoming a driver is highly more possible rather than no experience at all.
Looks like Randy doesn’t respond to questions.
It would be nice to know if he had to start in the warehouse, or not.
Let us know what you had to do to to become a driver and how long it took…
You should look at all of his videos, the hold many answers. Since, the area he works is rural he didn't have to start in the warehouse. He applied five years ago and was hired as a driver because they needed drivers.🦋
It depends honestly. I’ve worked at UPS for three years and I’m only 21 and I do plan on driving for UPS sometime next year after College. He drives here in Oklahoma and that’s where I live. I was told that it takes usually up to a year or so to actually get a call based off your seniority. To be honest, most drivers would need to work in the hub as either a part or full time employee and once they get their benefits and become part of the union, they can sign up as soon as they open up the sign in sheet for driver positions. Be aware though, because it can take a while until they call you and get you settled in. If your lucky, they’ll get ahold of you sooner or later. It’s just about being patient and understanding the process of it all. Let me know if you have any other questions, I’ll be glad to help!
Im guessing only 200ish... mostly because you can can still see the floor lol
Where that AC at?
Was about to ask same I hear some got it some dont
Nobody has it yet, new contract doesn't start until tomorrow
Only 1/4 of the trucks will get a/c by the end of the new 5 year contract
Starting in the Southern regions first
Why’d u stop the content? Peak?
Why do you have to be 21 to work in UPS delivering???????????
Frome a Upsers myself, please clean the inside before you record next time, says so much about you..
You Now Have Covid Because Of All That Dust
So as a ups driver, did management fire you or threaten your job for this? I can imagine even if you say you do this on your breaks or lunch they could dispute it. Idk but not seeing any content in so long and the fact you have to mention the lunch breaks makes me wonder. Hope not, hope you’re still fighting the good fight brother. 2 more years till that full wage like you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
