- "Kashmir" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. Included on their sixth album Physical Graffiti (1975), it was written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant (with contributions from John Bonham) over a period of three years with lyrics dating to 1973. The song became a concert staple, performed by the band at almost every concert after its release. The song has been described as one of Led Zeppelin's two most overtly progressive epics.
Page and Plant recorded a longer, live version, with an Egyptian/Moroccan orchestra for No Quarter: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded (1994) and performed the song with an orchestra on their 1995 tour.
Jeez, When Plant was asked why is Stairway so iconic, he replied "Its not, Kashmir is".
i have ,,the hot brain !!! ahahahahahah
I know everyone loves Stairway deservingly so…but in terms of musicianship and composition this is their magnum opus!
As well as Achilles last stand.
I would take Kashmir over a thousand Stairways. Stairway was played to death and I came to shudder when I heard it for the 8th time during waking hours, with respect for the song it is, of course.
Stairway has become annoying. Even Plant shys away from it.
I love them both.
Achilles Las Stand and Ten Years Gone. Alongside my favorite "Communication Breakdown"
Amazing that India and Pakistan are still fighting over this song.
You forgot…Bangkok and some parts of Bengal have too
Epic comment..
This Kashmir of Led Zeppelin is about a desert, not about geophysical issues of India between Pakistan
@@marvinsingh9960 how do you know that?
@@marvinsingh9960 it was a joke
At their peak , those four guys were untouchables !!
The mighty Zep ! 💪💪💪💪
No one can ever recreate this epicness...
Led Zeppelin, The Greatest Band Ever !
Yesssssss🖤
The mighty Led Zeppelin! Even after all these years, still sounds just as amazing as the first time!
Just a strain of singing every night and the vocal cords
❤❤❤❤beautiful version
4:58 that is his spirit screaming
Yes!
BEST BAND EVER ❤
Arguably their best ever track. Shut your eyes and you`re there. We are a privileged generation.

gotta be the most menacing riff between the guitar, drums and ocestry ever written. pure skill and craftmanship
Totally agree. Seeing the video the first time, when they get to the change at the end, it just fucked my mind. The sonic dance between Jimmy and Bonzo was absolutely gut wrenching. Just a sonic orgasm. It blows my mind that no director has used that part in a movie. I sure would
I can't tell if this is the best Led Zeppelin song but it always comes first in my mind everytime Led Zeppelin is mentioned. Along with Trampled Underfoot. What a timeless masterpiece.
Oh my goodness what a beautiful man. And an equally beautiful song.
Beautiful man..?? 😆😆 He had only one attractive thing and stop. There were many others in those days MUCH better
Agree. 🇺🇸
Omg that moment at 0:48 when the spot light shines on Jimmy was SO hot. The riff, his movements, HELP
Yeahh 🔥
Greatest riff of all time
Don't get me wrong, Stairway is great...but Kashmir is magic!
Ya! Baby! Itssss. Ssoóooo Kashmir. 🫠
I've seen comments over the years about Robert's voice at times. Even back then, to be the incredible vocal force he is, it is just all but impossible to do that 200 days a year, and never have many bad nights.. especially if you smoke 10 packs of cigarettes a day lol... but it's so hard for your voice to be on every night...as a very small time singer myself,I have played 5 or 6 nights a week and even in my 20's it was impossible to sing at my low level night after night.. he is the GOAT.. IMHO
By this time he was good but didn't sing like you, 5/6 times a week? I've also been singing classical music for 10 years and especially at Christmas when there are 3/4 concerts a week...it's already very hard.
You sing more than Robert Plant...his technique isn't very complex, he smoked ..and they didn't sing every night🤷sometimes amateurs try harder
Check out Free's singer Paul Rodgers singing All Right Now and Glen Hughes singing Burn by Deep Purple. They're in their 70s and still sounds almost like when they were much younger it's amazing
Greatest rock song ever.
100% with you there.
It's very good
This is such a masterpiece. The greatest song by the greatest band of all time.
Oh my God!!! I'd sell my soul for see this alive... ❤
I was talking to a great friend of mine this week. She said apparently she was there, but she can't remember anything about it! She'd had a text from her companion who had gone with her to remind her!! Dear oh dear!
I love Kashmir. Led Zeppelin is so unique.
Still rocks greatest band r.i.p bonzo

Beautifull song. Plant's voice is very good. He had some brutal performances in 75 with the recurring "flu" that he was fighting.
What was the "flu" if you don't mind me asking? Coke addiction or something?
Colombian flu is brutal, and reoccurring. I had it for for about 6 years solid. I thoroughly enjoyed it to be Frank.
Yeah, saw them in Cleveland 75 and Robert's voice was pretty rough. Jimmy had an injury to his middle fret finger. Page still sounded amazing. This song had just been released around that time and a lot of it was new to me. It was an amazing show nonetheless
@@hippieeyez7636 Yes, just that.
He's actually singing a lot of the notes cleaner than in the studio.
When Jimmy was on...he was on fire 🔥...Matt NYC

A MAIOR banda de rock de todos os tempos!!!!
Amazing Band, that’s my favourite Zeppelin track.
so damn good, it never gets old
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
Along the straits of fear
Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah
And my feet wear my fickle way to stay
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I went to Kashmir and went up the mountains to sit with elders of a gentle race. Amazing experience and the most beautiful people on earth 🌍💞 Go Go Go. Dal Lake Dando hotel boat ask for Ali. Tell him the bog Scotsman sent you and you'll be sorted.🕉️🏴💜

Love this live version. It sounds so incredibly evil and almost caustic at times. But it fits together like a perfect puzzle. Crowley is def in this one!

The Greatest Song!
They're hot as hell
Just wow
Plant was such as bad ass
Who wouldn’t want to stand up there and ramble on
Lyrics :
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
And not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Oh, baby, I been blind
Oh, yeah, mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I been blind
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find the way I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like sorts inside a dream
Leave the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert stream
My shangri la beneath the summer moon
I will return again
As the dust that floats high in June
We're moving through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
Along the straits of fear
Oh, when I want, when I'm on my way, yeah
And my feet wear my fickle way to stay
Ooh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah yeah,
But I'm down oh, yeah yeah, oh, yeah
Yeah, but I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oh, my baby
Let me take you there
Come on, oh let me take you there
Let me take you there
Amazing!
Oh let the sun beat down upon my face stars to fill my dreams
Apogée ...le meilleur du Groupe ...... ça Restera ....!!!
Alternative lyrics to Kashmir are up by Robert’s cousin (& who is also Melly Mel on Slims new album), in Karaoke area for however long they last.
Such a creative song...insightful 💕
Damn!!!!

He’s so cute
GODS
I named my son Kashmir.
락 보컬리스트인데도 유별나게 소울풀한 로버트 플랜트의 목소리가 정말 좋았다.
Song is so cool. Mix kinda wacky, vocal is foreground. Still love it.
Thank for the truth mix. Bad Bootleg LP in the 70s😮😮😮😊😊
Apparently John Bonham doesn't exist
Jimmy makin that guitar sing like a beautiful woman.
Who the fuck is that one person who disliked
Maybe it is Keef….
David Coverdale maybe 🙈😂😂😂
Randy Wolfe

I asked that same question before they changed the number of people who "dislike" a song or video...🤔
smacked oot their nuts and sounding awesome

We were so dirty in the 70s. 💃🕺💃🕺🍍🍍
Верю-Бах,.Чайковський,, Шостакович,...где они?...Сорок лет назад танцевал и сейчас танцую...Ґении-где они?...
Best than the night before. The 24th Bonham was having an off night
Everyone was. They were strung out
Greed has Its costs, and the musicians suffer the most, not the label buffoon execs.
Does anyone know what he was talking about at the beginning..? Clueless...
A fella kept blowing a whistle in the audience at the end of each song Plant was telling him off
Robert was dressed to the right for that gig
The mix is not so good compared to the version compared to the version from another night on this run that appeared don the DVD. Keyboards way too forward and shrill.
\o/🇧🇷
Did Jimmy page mention this song was the song they tuned into? And then it sprouted into this majestic musical masterpiece
Not a dry seat in the house
Forget Stairway. This is a Master piece ❤ So Sexy 😊
Les Paul? whats up with that Jim? Still sounds awesome
Better than the Beatles!
Dioses
They could run a concert with the worst instrumentation possible, and they would still rock it as f..k
🇧🇷 \o/
They're the only group that sings better than me
Rock n Roll is dead yall. I think it probably ended with Nirvana. No Nirvana isnt as great as this. Of course not. Im just saying that they were the last exciting thing in rock. We need something. Idk what it is, but its coming. Idk how long well have to wait, and will it be as great as Zeppelin, the Who, Floyd the Stones and you know who.
This is a stupid comment but wtf.
No it’s not a dumb comment. I completely agree and am also hopeful something like this will happen in music again. I hope you’re right
Queen all the way,
Not even close to Pink Floyd , Led Zeppelin or the Beatles !
Now batting… second basemen … CHASE. UTLEY.
The Mellotron and vocals are mixed a bit too loud.
Agree. Especially the Tron. Sounds a bit contrived. JPJ doesn't have the luxury of overdubbing keys and giving us live bass guitar. Really missed, here. Still love the Zepp
brite äir... hi ´bändvvidth v v
His voice sounds strained. Poor Robert needed to sing from his diaphragm 😂🤷♀️
75 was a rough year for him. Never really got his range back.
@@TatersUnited I think he had vocal surgery between 1973-1975 and started singing before letting his vocal chords heal. Could ge wrong though.
@@TatersUnited yeah 75 wasnt his best point but by 78 he sounded crazy good again but he is still good here.
You obviously not a true fan 😢
Sorry... Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, just Me! You're fake, guy!!! 😂
edit: but, you pass a bit
Kashmir is my favourite Zeps song and this is the worst version I've heard 😏 the other from earls court is much, much better
I don't like this version. The keyboards overpower the guitar.
