Australians say Australia because it’s beautiful, free healthcare, and it’s safe, with no gun laws etc. and Aussie primary schools are very different than the US. All countries have their own culture, which makes them unique, just because someone says there own country is fine. I’m Australian also :DDDD

Canada has overpriced healthcare though. Australia is definitely a nice country with amazing houses, but the time zone difference with Americans and the distance from America’s tech hubs makes it at an economic disadvantage.

What's wrong with nationalism? There is nothing wrong with being proud of your country. That is unless... You live in , China, North Korea, Russia, etc. I extremely disagree with the political views of most Australians, but I don't have a problem with them thinking that they're the best country in the world, even if they are disarming the public.

A good dose of self-criticism is healthy, we Germans learned that the hard way. And that doesn't mean we're not proud of our country - we are. @@misterfister4188 the gdp per capita is almost the same, in many states it is much higher. The healthcare is actually very similar to the us, majority of it is private care provided by your company. There is a very basic public option though. I do love the nature though

For a lot of reasons I'd say that the best countries are Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and Canada.

The USA is the greatest country!! Hands down!! When you mention the best country, this includes thousands and thousands of categories! Yes, our healthcare system isn't the greatest but this alone doesn't determine how great a country actually is. Just because a country has a terrific healthcare system doesn't mean it has the best physicians and healthcare facilities. The U.S. by far has the best physicians and hospitals in the world!! I could go on and on the U.S. is the best in so many categories that it's too long to list.

If your resources and assumptions are based solely on a WHO ranking, then I feel sorry for you. Personally, I've traveled and lived in many countries throughout the world and have experienced and seen the quality of healthcare firsthand that is readily available to patients. With this being said, the quality of healthcare in the majority of these countries is just down right preposterous!. God forbid, If I was suddenly stricken with a serious ailment, I would take my chances with physicians from the U.S. than from physicians from any other country!!

I've worked in the healthcare industry for over thirty years and have experienced first hand of some of the most deplorable health care systems, particularly the quality of physicians in a plethora of countries that I've visited and experienced. The U.S. by far, BY FAR has the best physicians in the world. There's a lot of jealousy in this world but it's a fact that American physicians as a whole, generally speaking, are the best at what they do! You can't deny the fact that U.S.physicians are the best or one of the best trained in the world! Next, you'll probably state that the U.S. military is not the most powerful on the planet either! I would argue that based on accomplishments in such a short time that the USA is the greatest country on earth. I mean if you look at the accomplishments and inventions of the USA and Americans, the USA is certainly top of the list. The USA invented the internet, traffic lights, the modern airplane, transistors, cell phones, the MRI machine, and the space shuttle. And the aforementioned list is only a small list of inventions. Also, the USA was the first country to make it to the moon. Lastly, take into account that the USA has only officially been a country since 1776. For the USA to accomplish all of this in such a short time is quite miraculous.

I'm American and I'd pick Finland because education is one of the most important things to me, but it really depends on what someone's priorities are. If I look hard enough I might find something wrong with Finland as well because there's no such thing as a perfect country.

As a Spaniard, I have visited the United States several times along with many other countries around the world. In the USA I really enjoyed being a tourist, but they would have to pay me a fortune to leave Spain and go live there.

Because they are very outstanding and also they rank the best in every rankings like for corruption, quality of life, prosperity, governance, safety and security, happiness, personal freedom and generosity and there are still others. Even though they have only a decent gdp per capita they are still better than many of the countries that have high ones. Auckland is also great that is said to be better than any cities in the world except for Zurich and Vienna that is 2nd and the 1st most best city. That reason really explains why I like New Zealand, it is like they can also bear with European countries because they are outstanding

As an person who lives in Norway, im just disappointed over the Americans. Im not bragging but the nordic countries do top charts in extremely many things. Im dissapointed for Americans not realising that their country isn't even close to being perfect compared to other countries like the nordics.
It's a meaningless question because "best country" can mean something very different to people with different priorities. I'm sure many people would hate to live in a nordic country simply because of the cold weather.

The "best" country is so relative. However, I wouldn't blame you for saying Australia. I really think it's a tie between the common wealth countries and the United States.
Some factors taken into account that can lower the United States rating are:
1.) Police Brutality and number of deaths by cop and general homicide
2.) Americans cannot live the American Dream. But maybe they can in Australia. Some Americans work 80 hours per week and it's killing them slowly. The American Dream is dead.
3.) Racism is too big in the United States. And the thing I don't like about my own country is that everything is based on politics. Democrats nor Republicans have all the same traits. Liberals choose to hate Republicans thinking they are all the same and don't like liberal thoughts. Americans need to stop thinking in terms of politics and looking for a group to blame and take out politics when it comes to social problems. If we never take the facade of politics off, people will continue to hate other groups based on politics and the problem will never be dealt with. Democrats and Republicans should just be HOW you vote, not about how you can conjure up attitudes to hate on someone's identities. That's why America goes a notch down. I think Brittain is more accepting. However, I'm not sure if their nation does the same thing as we do: conjure up reasons to hate on political groups . People are individuals too! However, the United States is still ten times more accepting of difference compared to other countries. Hence, although bad, America is an oasis compared to other countries. But we are not the best.
Good points! The democrat and republicans thing always seemed so weird/crazy to me, so I agree with that! I did like USA, but not quite enough to want to live there. I much prefer Australia, but also because I was born here and all my friends+family are here.

You don't necessarily have to hate a person to take part in systems if oppression. As you can see from all the George Floyd incident and #blacklivesmatter movement, there definitely is inequality. I'm not talking out of my butt. I actually learned this while in college, as taking a multicultural class was required and only had a few options between was limited between history of American Immigration, intro to multicultural communication, or a race, class, and gender class. I took the communication course. Yes, I only have an A.A, bit that's better than nothing..
Also, I love my country, but that doesn't mean I have to be blindly patriotic. And yes, I'm a democrat. However, I'm not into politics. I'll leave it at that..
And to the people r go think I hate my own country, I hope that Nancy Pelosi fights for the American people to make sure the 2nd stimulus package includes stimulus to the people. She knocked down the gavel saying the Hero's act passed the house, yet senator majority leader Mitch McConnell is taking his sweet time and wants the full stimulus package to be less than the Cares act.

It’s just a fun, light-hearted video, *but* I personally think it does at least demonstrate that the stereotype of Americans being blindy patriotic (while somewhat true) is a slightly unfair adage because many other countries are the same or worse (e.g. Australia).

If I was asked that question, I'd say Japan. I was born in Brazil, raised in USA, and have been to every continent except Antarctica. I've never been to Japan but from what I've heard about their people, culture, food, history, innovation, and geography, I'd have to pick them.

I'd have to go with one of the "final thought" guys. I love America but America isn't the only good country out there. And I'd have to agree that every country has its own unique factors. But I'd just live to be a tourist one day in Europe or Asia and see what those factors and qualities are. Oh, and don't forget about Australia. :) ;)
