- Wow this one was the craziest one we've ever gotten. LOL at the girl who never heard of Utah. Also since when is being able to name three countries "knowing history". Lots of people don't know how many states there are in the US, basic math, or what century they're in BUT they DO know the names of all the Kardashians! There was so much good action here, this really was the best one yet. Make sure you guys give Justin a follow, he's a super smart up-and-comer. This was a great collab, follow him, he's the man! This shows the education system is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
I heard on the radio the other day why this is happening. In the US, a teacher gets check on every two years and asked how they are doing. There are 6 criterias but none of those ask if they are teaching anything. Therefore, a teacher legally does not have to teach. After two years the teacher is tenured and cannot be fired as easily unless they do something very bad.
There are good teachers out there, but usually the ones that are good are in the good districts because of the students they are teaching because they care, and their parents care.
Edit: Putting this in to clarify what I heard. It was on the Dennis Prager radio show last week. A newly retired 37 year teacher in the California state, I believe just LA but could have been more was describing this. Do not remember his name.

It bothered me the most when they would say that they don't know history even though it's geography.
TBF, geography is largely intertwined with history. "California" as a state didn't always exist. And probably won't exist for very long. Etc...

Because the American education system groups history, geography, and political science into "Social Studies" to better fit early curriculums. History is usually the main focus of the class, and is often just called "History" class if not "social studies". So you often will learn geography in History class. They are not the same but this is most likely why they are saying it. Cuz their only experience with learning them was at an early grade school level.
This explains why my order is always wrong at McDonalds

Acting "of a generation" is about your general mindset. And how similar it may be to people near your age. People who may be on the "generation border" will either side as Millenial or GenZ depending on which makse more sence to them.
And there are plenty of uneducated people from all generations out there that you can use as examples in a video like this.

Some guy where I worked asked me where I was from and I told I was from the Netherlands and he asked me if I lived under water because he heard that the Netherlands is below sea level. When I was in school, I had a teacher for a social studies class give us a mock citizenship test on the first week. Most of us wouldn't have passed, but she said by the end of the course, we would be able to pass the test, which most of us did.

Our education system went from teaching with the goal of understanding to basically just preparing kids for standardized tests. When I was in the Navy, we had to take tests often, so what we would do is prepare for the test, memorize the information for the test, and then as soon as the test was over, I immediately forgot everything on it. Standardized testing is a terrible way to teach verify whether a subject is understood. With that said, these videos are kind of loaded because if you notice, he is talking to the same handful of idiots, so I don't think the general public is this bad, but he did find a few gems to make a video about, lol.

I'm dealing with customers that order from us wholesale. These people are somehow running or managing businesses but can't write their shipping address correctly, or understand that their billing address is attached to the bank account, not the physical delivery address (which they got wrong anyway).
Many of these are younger new hires because our previous contacts notified s they were retiring.
