For me simplicity is not that extreme. I want to have enough money to travel, have fun, eat good food and enjoy new technologies with family and friends whenever I want. I don't care about having 1000 luxury cars or 4 mansions. Anyone agrees with me?
I met a very very wealthy multimillionaire once who had just returned from Monaco.. He told me that it's possible to be just as happy living an average life in an average suburban house as it is living his lifestyle. He had just smashed his lambo a few weeks prior.

Another Simple Analogy : If your Baseline of Happiness is having enough Food, Shelter and Clothing, whatever may happen, you'll never be overwhelmed nor disappointed in life, and can focus in living with enough bliss, peace and freedom.

Simplify your personal life, work and business dealings. But you can never get away from it all. Life is messy sometimes and you must deal with it. This idea is similar to most of the antis that we get immediately attracted to. So far so I agree that one should learn to be content in what he has and find happiness in the smallest of things, I beg to differ that it will always be like that. As humans, we are wired to be attracted to what we don't have. Rich are attracted to the poor's content in life and poor are attracted to the riches of the rich. That want is the driving force behind our actions, if there's no want one will be stuck in life mostly. Simply, if you want to be a saint or philosopher like them, you can follow this path but if you are living a life within the society, gonna have family, these ideas will not be that useful. You can practice them in some places but I feel due to the reward system of the brain, after giving up more at some places, you'll fulfill it at other places.
